Convenience...have consequences. Our own government agencies does not even have integrated databases. SIM registration for now is not feasible until we upgrade first the government agencies databases and cyber security infrastructures. Otherwise ordinary people are much more vulnerable not only from scammers but as well as global syndicate.

Scammer will stalk you first to figure out how they can socially engineer their way to access your online accounts. They needed to know who are your friends or enemies that they can use or bribe. And they decide if they want to ruin you or not based on the information they gathered. But in real life these people are cowards.
PTEs ang mageestablish ng database not the government and im pretty sure these PTEs will look at the infra from other countries na may sim card registration law. so its feasible.
It is actually not an assurance that once your sim is registered you can block scammers. The government of uae is very strict with the sim registration but we are still receiving some scam messages and calls... Though not as many as we have in the Phil.

Pag nagpa-registro sa Google, Facebook, Viber, Grab, Lazada, Shopee, or LinkedIn, di ba nagbibigay din tayo ng pahintulot na ibigay personal details natin? After maging batas yan, until now bumabaha parin ang text messages sa fon ko from scammer. Dini delete ko kaagad.
Pwede i.fake yung ID ng mag-register. Mas maganda kukunin din yung biometrics ng nagpapa-register. Mas mabuti kung 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner gagamitin nila para mahirap ma spoof.
I am in favor of SIM Card Registration Law, like in other countries....Bangladesh, Sudan, Singapore and any other....walang binebinta sa kahit saan...

I'm from Thailand and may sim registration din dito. Super secure, kasi Mas matatakot ka mag gawa ng scam or cancel order sa grab kasi naka dikit ang pangalan mo. Super negative tlaga yung iba na di gagana or mahihirapan of course sa first months or even years may dapat e fix. Just trust the process and ma mininize for sure ang mga scammers. Proven and tested na gagana kasi sa Thailand "rare" scam or cancel order sa grab or any na delivery services dahil sa sim registration.

Sana naman yong swiftness ng process nato ay sya din sana ka dali sa government agencies natin. Napaka slow kasi ng process sa pinas. Dyos ko kaya ayaw na ayaw ko pumunta sa mga city hall kasi ang haba2x ng pila. Paulit2x ang process na multiple ids and photocopies. Nagiging waste of time and resource sa mga tao ang ginagawa nila.
Yung sa selfie, medyo scary yan, kc marami ngayong hackers. Pwedeng gamitin nila yung selfie ng tao na ninanakawan nila ng identity. So ganon pa rin kawawa madidiin yung ninakawan ng identity when using fake ID to register the sim.

Kokonti na nga lang ang population pero laganap pa rin ang mga scammer. May tatawag pa sa'yo sasabihing Dubai police daw siya at may problema sa bank account mo. Matatawa ka na lang dahil amo mo Dubai police at wala ka namang bank account. Kalokohan.
Para sa law enforcement natin at sa mga kumukuha ng crim hetong tanong ko para sa kaalaman ng marami "sim registration, paano kunwari si tah moran sindikato, scammer talaga kaagad mo bang huhulihin kung nagsend siya ng spam o text scam.
