pretty cool at 7:28 you can see where they put a plate of the headlight when they converted that coach from an MU. Great video, I grew up with this being the norm on LIRR, only got to ride the P72s one time in December '98. Rode the M1s and M3s many, many times. It's weird to think those occasional M3s you see here mixed into trains of predominantly M1s are the only things still operating, and even they're on borrowed time now.
My Parents Had a Motel then so throughout the year especially during the summer I used to catch the 6:00 pm to Ronkoma and Change to the Greenport Scoot for Southold at 8:00 pm I now have a K-Line trains model of the old Greenport scoot sitting on my train table XD
I forget sometimes that the diesel only lines still had low platforms in the 90s and they built the high levels for the new double deckers, I remember my grandfather and me at smithtown when the first double decker pulled in, i think he was more amazed then i was lol especially wen not to long after they started directs to penn, he always said he never thought he would live to see the day
No, actually there's more. When I first uploaded these videos in 2009, TH-cam would Not allow videos longer than 15 minutes, so I broke them up into smaller pieces. As for the contents of this one particular DVD, most of it is here, but unfortunately the battery in the recording camera went dead, and three or four clips are missing from the end.
I'll forever miss that view from 6:48! Miss the easy walk across from side to side.
