You made the right call leaving that area. At 18:48 the moment that guy on the left noticed you he took a pic of your bike. Looks like he is scoping the area to let other bike thieves know.

Oh man you are so right about hospital deliveries! I work in A&E in a specialist team and had a rare quiet moment, so our team ordered Burger King as a treat for our tea. The driver arrived, didn’t ring me as requested and claimed they delivered the order but I was stood outside waiting for them in clear view. They stole our tea! We was all really upset as it was a Sunday night shift so nothing was open by the time we needed to order again.
What you did for that guy was amazing and I bet he will remember you for years because it’s the little things that mean a lot to people when all their world is them four walls

19:27 yeah would have done the same, well done LE. Sad truth about UK is these thieves are in and out of prison in weeks probably days. Night time is when they strike. The earliest I’ve seen them was 3pmish at August. Good thing is it’s easy to spot them if you’ve been out and about long enough in this job. If you only see one it’s still fine but there is a possibility it’s gonna call for reinforcement and 2 is already a danger as they gonna commence the attack. It’s a hit and miss out there. Always eyes peeled👀 open. And don’t let them affect your shift.

I think it’s lovely that you took it to his bedside and even more incredible that you spent some time chatting with him. I live in Los Angeles California and it’s very hit or miss here when it comes to food delivery. I feel like we would never see that level of care with most drivers here, only the rare ones. Still, this is a very hard job and I always try to tip as well as I can. I’ve never delivered food, but I drove for Uber and Lyft for a while so I understand how difficult this job can be. You always impress. Great stuff.

Hi mate, I swear you take me back 30 years down some of those sideroads.. they all look different but I still recognise em. :)
One tip for the winter from an older courier: best things I ever EVER got myself for my GT500 maggot courier bike were HEATED HANDLEBAR MITTENS... I literally didn't have to wear gloves with those (or at best just fingerless mittens), which made it great for package handling... They looked a bit silly but they were ELITE mate.. I'm guessing they'll make them for ebikes now but if they don't, you should do some custom setup for that and see how your life changes.. :) Let us know what you think if you do it!

Also just a sidenote.. Please get some kneepads.. Please... it's making me cringe seeing those bones sticking so close to 35mph concrete :p (Talking from mine and friend's hardcore experiences).. not to mention ankles and elbows... :/ Remember, as a courier, it's just a matter of time before you have a crunch.. The mile ratio numbers get too high..

Can you also tell us the length of time worked to make your total earnings. Like £39 but how long did it take you, would like to work out how much per Hr that works out to

Since i moved to Leeds from London I’ve noticed the Uber/Deliveroo drivers wont even get out of the car or off the bike, they just get to outside our building and ring saying come and get it, not the biggest issue but when i lived London they brought it to the flat door, weird ey

I can understand drivers not wanting to climb lots of stairs, however they must make an effort to get out/off their vehicle and come to the main door. As a customer, if you live in a massive block, whether there is a lift or not, you should try and make the delivery person’s life easier by coming down or up to the main door. If not, then be sure to leave a tip for all the effort and time wasting.

@@zoomoguy Yeah if it's difficult for the delivery then a good tip should be standard af..

Drivers only get paid horizontally from A to B. Not vertically 😁

You know, do not take it the wrong way what the person in the hospital said. I've been in and out the hospital the last few months and you get frustrated and feel powerless. Mostly because they are dependant on others and those others do let them down quite often. It sucks. Even though you (and other people) didn't let the person down, indeed as you say, show some empathy. Let's be kind to others.
