Mariah came out in 90 in the middle of whitney prime, it didn't stop her from getting recognition, her first album was phenomenal. The bodyguard soundtrack to this very day is whitney biggest success. Mariah, Celine and Toni were already around. So everything you've said doesn't make any sense. Contrary to Mariah, Whitney doesn't write her songs except for 1 or 2 songs she wrote. Therefore in terms of freedom she relies more on song writers, Mariah does not. All that to say you don't need to tear those ladies down to elevate Whitney, her talent is enough. They all contributed to the music industry and should all be respected for that.

Everyone involved with this incredible song passed too soon. Such is the tragedy of life. For me, it's a reminder of my beautiful late wife Heather, whose light went out aged 26 in 2013. I still think of her and miss her everyday.
