@@apatheticempathy it has more life and we have wildfires that still need her. The government needed to step up. Hire these planes. Well we know about that.
@@helenv3990 it's 80 years old and they apparently can't get the parts they need anymore. it takes a lot of effort to maintain such an old plane, even just to fly it - never mind the stress it is under when scooping and transporting all that water. there are way better and more modern ways to fight fires these days.
Thanks for sharing, wish I was there. Part of Port Alberni is gone. Glad you captured this. There probably weren't too many dry eyes there. FYI, you would have been better holding the camera and manually zooming. The constant zooming in and out and knotchy panning really took away from the special moment.

Not sad, the plane has earned its retirement, it's going to a museum where it can inspire others. What's sad is the other symbols of our history that are being "scrapped", maybe hopefully they can be revived.. 😒🇺🇸
Very well done !!! Love this thank you so much for this!!!
You're welcome! I hope everyone enjoys!!

SUPER SAD!!! I was crying a bit watching her go
The reason it went to YYJ was so it can be preserved and displayed at the aviation museum. Where are you getting this nonsense about being scrapped?
