  • Halloween night a lil tipsy
video showing the correct way to hook up the R6 taillight to a MADDOG 150CC scooter and im pretty sure its the same for all maddogs. ive watched viedos and follow diagrams and used the search engine and i still could not find the right way everyone of them said something different!!! so here is what i got to work and havent had any issues...Here is the wiring setup that i have and it worked for me in the video the wiring set up i showed that was on the white paper was what i had first it worked but my break light and running light was pretty much the same color so i did some flipping around wires.
WHEN AND IF HOOKED UP CORRECTLY YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TURN YOUR KEY TO ACCESSORY (NOT STARTING IT) AND THE LIGHTS SHOULD BE ON.if you have power to the lights then you have hooked up your R6 taillight correctly hit your breaks and get 3 blinks and u have break lights done right ....
i am not responsible for any damage done to your bike im just sharing what worked for me
    PARTS:

    1) of course find which wire is which on ur R6 taillight by testing each wire to the positive on the battery while holding the negative wire(Black) to the negative on the battery and take note of what you get... this is what i got
    R6
    Black-Ground
    Red-Running Light
    White-Break Light
    Blue-Left Turn
    Yellow-Right Turn
    2) do the same for ur CHUCKUS in which u should already know what wire does what if your bike is still factory and your installing this.. look at the wires before you cut them and take note of which does which. on mine since someone attempted and didnt do it right i have green wire and a yellow wire extra
    CHUCKUS
    Light Blue-Right Turn
    Orange-Left Turn
    Green-Ground
    Green/Yellow-Running Light
    yellow-
    3) in order for this R6 LED taillight to work properly it needs to be converted to DC power so it doesnt fry the board thats inside ive already did this once because my wire running to the dc kit wasnt hooked up and i wasted $75 right there so make sure you have a dc kit to help balance out the power
The wire i chose to run to my dc kit is RED and that will run from the R6/chuck all the way to the front of the bike and plug into the kit.. so now that we have all the wiring figured out lets put them together and see the light show!!!
    CHUCKUS R6
Light Blue + Yellow = RIGHT TURN
    Orange + Blue= LEFT TURN
    Green + Black= GROUND
    Green/Yellow + White= RUNNING LIGHT
    Red(my choice wire) + Red= BREAK

Good looking out on this video. I'm recently got my 150cc maddog and I'm looking to do a bunch of upgrades. If I can do something myself then that's a big plus.

Having this problem right now. So to confirm in your description is that there's a splice somewhere ( I can't find it) and if you add DC current to it you can still have the AC and DC hooked up separately and work correctly right?

I wouldn't mind doing a video but I'm not home won't b for another 2 weeks but I can explain it to u... its very simple you'll see wat I'm saying when u receive urs.. but when u install the handle bars it's just like a regular bicycle there's a piece that takes 4 screws to hold the handle bars in place.. and then the speedo has a plate on it that has 2 holes the handle bar piece has 2 screw holes as well you'll line them up and just screw the screws in... its not hard at all

To mount the r6 light... no I didn't I actually used the silver mount that held the license plate that originally came on the bike... I flipped it over and grinded it some

      @seductivesoles3824  ปีที่แล้ว
