Barry great tying of this dry fly just one thing i don't get is you ty in something lead weight wire in at the back of this dry fly what is this for to help the fly to sit low in the water as I have being tying up some cdc dry sedge with a little bit of weight on the so that the fly sit right on the surface & not on it side. hi to you from Ireland
Hi Rab, The deep sparkle pupa should sink just a little, so when retrieved on a floating line it rises slowly towards the surface, imitating a emerging caddis fly.
Thank you very much for this pattern! I think this will be very good with picky fish/difficult hatches. I will try this when fishing for char. One question:after the fly has absorbed water does it still rise enough when you retrieve it?
That is a great fly Barry! Thanks for sharing this... I'll need to tie some of these! One question: What is the reason for the "weighted" dry fly hook and not using a wet fly hook?
Barry adding the “How to fish them” part is as important as the tying of this great fly. Awesome thx
Glad it was helpful!
Wow what a awesome lesson this morning with coffee. Thank you sir
Thank you Jimmy.
SO clever. I've now tied several, and found the process to be easy enough. Many thanks.
Glad it helped! Good luck with them.
Awesome buggy mess! Great pattern Barry, great technique on the shuck too. Thank you.

Glad you like it Anders.
Great idea to have the lead underbody. I have tied some already and when the river goes down a bit they are going for a swim.
Great Donald, let me know how you get on with them.
Masterful sir, love your videos!
Thank you kindly!
Cracking fly, indeed.
Thank you Michael.

No problem O, after a while you will have to squeeze out the water and dress it a little with floatant.

Thanks Freddy, The rear weighted hook helps sink the fly on the drop but when retrieved it will 'pop' up to the surface again like an emerging caddis.
@@Thefeatherbender Understood…thanks!!
