- Howard(on 6 string guitar) and George Van Eps in 1991, playing "This Is The End of a Beautiful Friendship" with the great Jake Hanna on drums and Dave Stone on bass. This clip was part of a pilot for a proposed TV series "Jazz Generations", hosted by Los Angeles Times writer Charles Champlin.

Dave Stone on bass, what a humble, great guy. We spent an hour chatting and comparing notes about LA traffic one night after a warmup gig in Sacramento, memorable.
George Van Eps.....WOW......the bar has been set very high. Howard Alden is amazing. You cats are a delight! Love this!

What guitar is Howard Alden playing?
Not one hundred percent certain but I think it's an Epiphone Howard Roberts.
enfin il a tout compris, je vois pas mal de virtuoses, qui le sont mais qui sont trop pressés et qui mélangent virtuosité et vitesse d'éxécution, ces deux artistes ont tout compris d'abord privilégier l'harmonie, pour la vitesse elle est limitée dans tous les pays, donc inutile de faire la course, il suffit de bien jouer, poser les accords comme dans cet extrait, donc bravo
