I honestly love how Rin sounds and is tuned here. It reminds me of some older Rin songs and how they were tuned. It's a such a unique and upbeat sound for her, but it also allows her to sing in this powerful way. I love it!
The fact that I'm used to listening to this song being sang quietly, I fell in love with this cover rather quick. Listening to this cover compared to other covers and the original song make this cover show a lot more emotion coming from Rin. Very good job with this one!

As someone said, Staccato means short and kinda jumpy. Using a "robotic" tone gives it a plus. You were able to use it as your advantage and also gave a new feeling to a song that was made to be soft. I'm not a music genius but it suits her a higher tone. You did a great job with this! Will be looking forward more

I love how you can hear the distress in her voice compared to the soft version where it sounds like the vocaloid is holding themselves back from crying. Rin out her in the breakdown while miku be holdin it back edit: 3:15 where jin does that short high note really adds the whole meltdown element for me, its just a small detail that brings this cover together even further and U G H I cant stress how much I love this version. Every time I listen I find another reason why I love it I think the only critique I have is at the end instead of keeping that same distraught voice, they creator could've switch run to her soft voice to show its the end, wins done with the story and has excepted her feelings. keeping that same breakdown voice makes the song feel like nothing was resolved. But thats the only thing I saw to be honest, and its still an amazing cover
That sounds so true.. I love Miku's ver but Rin having a different tone altogether makes it a whole unique cover with a slightly different story special to Rin alone(at least in this cover). That's beautiful.

I know, she has a sweet and warm append, but I think they sound a little bit too forced and it kind of looses the magic in her tone. But with the power vb she can sing really well powerful songs with really high notes. Conclusion: using rin (at least for me) is almost a synonymus for making a powerful cover. And if the song is meant to be softer, then change it xD
Also, being a good vocaloid user does not only mean to know which vocaloid will fit in each song, but also know which song can fit each style. There are some "powerful" songs like rolling girl that actually can fit really well with soft singing styles like Rolling girl and vice versa! Although I think making this one more powerful was risky... Every GOOD cover I listented to had a soft tuning :/

But I won't lie to you, it still doesn't sound as good as her other voicebanks and I think Rin V2 would have matched that type of song better. She still sounds unnatural and not like herself. The tuning in that song is very simple and kind of dull (but it's still good compared to other original songs though, the original Patchwork staccato doesn't have any tuning at all xD Also, most people wouldn't mind that but I'm very strict when it comes to tuning), and I've heard some really good usages of her Sweet/warm append and although some of them sounded really good they still couldn't reach the level of quality of a good tuning with the other voicebanks. It's not impossible to make them sound 'godlike' too though, but it's really hard and you have to find the PERFECT song to do it and that's something nobody has achieved, including me. I don't mean to hate or hurt you if you like those voicebanks (warm can sometimes sound pretty interesting in some of the samples), but in my objective opinion they sound dull and personalityless unless you use them so good that you're able to change that...
I still use Warm in some cases though! Rin power sounds awful in lower notes and that append sounds really nice in the deepest tones. This isn't the best usage of her power vb to be honest, now I would have used the other appends a little bit more in this cover...
i know many people have already said this but the tuning definitely changes the tone of the song. it gives me more of an "angry / frustrated break up song" vibe (which i feel is very fitting for rin in particular, tho that's based in personal headcanon more than anything else.)

back here after a few years to say this is still my favoritest patchwork staccato cover ever... i LOVE the way you tuned rin! i really miss when people didnt always tune so realistically and leant more into the quirky robotic quality of voicebanks because i think its one of its defining traits that nothing else can truly replicate

I know I’m like 4 years late, but this is an amazing cover! I personally think the stronger voice makes the emotion show more since the meaning behind the song is the character’s internal conflict and her decision. Thoughts can be loud on the inside, and this just brings that out more. And the tone doesn’t sound necessarily happy, so the song still sounds sad and soft like it’s supposed to with that up beat background :) Great job!

I love how unique you made the du du part compared to other versions of the song! This cover has so much personality, it's refreshing after listening to it many times by other artists.

This is by far the best cover I've heard of this song. I love how Rin sounds loud and mad versus soft and broken like the original. Also, I love the way she sounded when she said "flick tap" and "swipe tap"
