    The MONKEYS need emotional support. They are sucking their thumbs self soothing. Their canine teeth have been pulled due to their biting. This is animal abuse!!

    • @John_Weiss
      @John_Weiss 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I didn't see any pulled canines, but the macaque was stress-yawning.
      I have to wonder if any of these pet monkeys have floating-limb syndrome.
      Also, monkeys need the companionship _of their own kind._ I saw a macaque, a human, and a capuchin. The monkeys may help the human's mental health, but what about the monkeys' mental health? It's not going to be very good, what with them being isolated like that.

      @@John_Weiss I agree 100000%! He was definitely stress yawning. If you look closely the canines have either been pulled or filed down... I would adore having a monkey but I am aware of the damage it causes the monkey (and the owner in a lot of cases) It would be so insanely selfish of me to have one just because I wanted one. How many owners have adult monkeys? Not a hell of a lot. The majority of monkey "owners" (hate that term) will advise people to not get one. They are wild animals they can never be domesticated. Thanks John_Weiss for your truthful comment!

    I think Ms. Teehan should have checked with the local government for rules and regulations regarding primates before moving to this area, but if these are companion primates they have been highly trained since they were babies and they will have had the best of veterinary care making sure they don't carry the hepatitis B virus or any other animal illness that could effect human primates.
    The gentleman in the news caption should have spoke to his neighbor before turning this into drama central! This is what our world has turned into, our neighbors, people on the street, nosey people who have nothing else to do with their time so they try to run the lives of others!! If those monkeys didn't bother him if they were kept on a leash outside he had nothing to complain about! He's one of those neighbors who would get everyone on the block hysterical if someone moved in with a Pitbull or Rottweiler! They are Wild; and can not be fully trained. Look at that case of Travis the Chimp in 2009 that ripped it's owners face off. Macaques are small but very strong. They have 2 inch canine teeth, and a 40 pound jaw strength (which is around 1200 psi). Why is it "drama central"? He has a right to feel safe, and according to her, she seems to think she has a right to own THREE Macaques in a Residential neighborhood. You most certainly can have close Neighbors if you own them..... what a horribly rude arrogant thing you say!
      You can still provide plenty of room and playground for them in a safe area ......
      The problem is not with the owner or the monkey, it's with the uneducated people who are stirring the kettle.
      Also, not everyone has the ability to move to the boonies somewhere, where there are no Neighbors. " Missy has Neighbors she shouldn't have the monkeys at all " is basically what you're rude snarky ass is trying to say??
      I do believe you're a ' Karen '.
      I own 20 acres and I'm out in the middle of nowhere but I have provided nonprofit private Animal Rescue for 38 years and I still get grief on occasion from an uneducated doofus or someone who is simply a butthole and wants to make trouble.
      The two biggest problems are people who are lacking the proper education on the subject and then people who seem holier-than-thou and have a bit too much arrogance.

Mine was actually a rescue foster situation and she grew on me and especially my daughter, so we kept her. Bonnet macaques are very chill and gentle when compared to other macaques. I also have her fixed and got her canines removed as a precaution despite her never showing the slightest hint of aggression. That said, having three of any monkey isn’t a good idea since you can unintentionally cause aggressive behavior between them that would eventually overflow into just being flat out more aggressive. Bonnets and capuchins are really the only consistently laid back monkeys as pets from what I’ve seen, especially since some of the macaque breeds can get very dangerous.

    Monkeys do normally belong in the wild, but monkeys raised by the human hand don't. If that monkey is 18 years old and has been raised in diapers with kisses, plates, cups, utensils and a bed, then putting it in the wild with its kind would almost certainly be an immediate death sentence for it. Study a wild troop and see how they will kill even a baby for eating out of turn. These monkeys know nothing about social order amongst their kind. One mistake can be deadly. Even in a sanctuary those monkeys develop troops with orders/rules. If the monkeys have not bitten anyone or threatened anyone, then just the neighbors being nosey and having their opinions shouldn't be enough for her to have to get rid of them. I do agree that she needs to move to an area where having these monkeys are legal and she should get the proper licensure and permits for them.

    • @JessNW0lfG4NG
      @JessNW0lfG4NG ปีที่แล้ว +2

      She needs to most definitely go to a state where they're allowed as pets but I don't believe that they're good support animals & should not be as they're naturally wild & I imagine it takes a whole lot to care for one of these. I admit that I don't like most macaques or any monkey for that matter aside from Java Macaques & you're correct, these macaques or any wild raised by humans & not taught how to survive amongst their kind usually end up wrecked or dead when they meet their wild kin.
      But if it's not legal to own one in that state then she needs to either send them to some sanctuary or move. If I have small children & this crazy lady has some monkeys that are more than capable of causing my children any harm then if be complaining too cause by her standards I can own a pack of African wild dogs & get a note that allows me to own them fir mental & emotional support; I'd prefer an Emu, honey badger , a pack of African wild dogs , hyenas or a pack of wolves is fine too.

I believe that was a name but yeah this guy is injured and the monkey comes in his trying to help him and stuff that was a long time ago and now they've really gotten it down they're pretty cool they're take care of the people that Defender people you'll see some that whenever I violent like I said someone comes at the owner like look at those guys there they love her and it is easy to train them if you start from the beginning. I've seen this guy in Vietnam and he's got one he trained called yo-yo and it was like the most behaved most chill just nice little guy. Yeah there's a thing too when they've been raised around humans and been around humans you cannot just go and throw them out at a jungle or anywhere else because the other monkeys will rip them apart ones out in a while know how to fight they've had to fight through their lives and they get jealous. Actually you know if you look into it pretty much any animal get jealous. And when I've been raised by people they just don't know how to do the mannerisms The Sounds there's a lot of different things knowing how to look smack knowing how to submit themselves there's a lot for them to learn before they can even go out into the jungle. Worst thing you could ever ever do to an animal is take a monkey that's raised by humans and go throw it out in a wild or stick it in the zoo with other animals that are really wild monkey that cannot communicate right is going to get shredded by the other monkeys there's endless videos on it he's lovely Cambodian guys with their long tails and pigtails. But also you guys should not worry about this as much as you should worry about the government who has all sorts of monkeys like this and every state pretty much and their experimenting using every horrible and nasty toxic poison acid medication everything you can think of the test and on these kind of animals cuz they're closest they can get to a human. I don't blame her neighbors. Every country macaques are indigenous in have laws against keeping them as pets. The laws are meant to protect the public. Macaque monkeys have been known to come into homes and kidnap human infants. One female macaque kidnapped a baby right out of the mother's kitchen in India. The baby's body was found in the bottom of a well. From birth they carry disease. It is impossible to toilet train a macaque monkey. Their behavior is highly unpredictable. They have the reasoning power of a three year old human but are much stronger than a man.

      Has this monkey gotten any kind of shots? Does she visit a vet to care for that thing regularly? What if it did get loose and bit someone's kid?
      This not the exact same thing as owning a cat or dog. I hope one of your neighbors eventually owns a pack of wild African dogs and let's them loose around your neighborhood to see how safe you'd feel. If more than one neighbor has am issue with her owning an illegal and dangerous animal than that's the end of that, she can move somewhere it is legal to own cause laws should not be bent in her favor.

I would want the same assurance for any animal, dogs included.

      You can't compare domesticated animals & humans to a dangerous wild animal. Charla Nash ended disfigured by a trained Chimp & chimps are way smarter than these rats.

      Excuse me, but what the hell does the illegal keeping of wild primates have to do with wanting to control your neighbors? We're talking about a toque (bonnet) macaque, an animal that has to wear a diaper because it can't be litter trained, an animal that regardless of how cute some people think they are, packs a mean bite and carries a strain of hepatitis that is lethal to humans, an animal that no matter how much she or anyone else thinks it is trained, never forgets how it was taken from its mother and has the ability to be shifty, conniving, vengeful and harbor resentment, an animal that despite anyone's best efforts to train it, is not domesticated and isn't permanently trainable. There's a reason she has that cage in her home... And that's because she is housing a dangerous animal and she knows it. Animals like this don't make good pets or emotional support animal. If she needs an animal to take care of her emotional needs because she isn't capable of doing it herself, and personally I think she's full of shit, she could have much more easily secured a dog than going through the miles of red tape that she had to to get a monkey, nevermind the fact that she's just feeding the illegal pets machine. And don't kid yourself either... At some point this monkey was either snatched from its mother's arms in a monkey breeding factory, or its mother was intentionally killed in the wild, making it an orphan. One important thing about monkeys is that they are fiercely protective of their offspring and never let go of them without a fight. Also, they must be taken from their mother within a few weeks of birth, otherwise it's all but guaranteed that their training will be a complete failure.
      No, this isn't about controlling your neighbors. It's about making them adhere to the same laws that the rest of us do. Monkeys are illegal to privately own in most places in the US for many reasons, and you'd better believe that if one of her neighbors applied for a permit to keep a dangerous, wild primate for an emotional support animal, they would be rejected and reminded about why it's illegal to own one at all.

      It isn't a matter of convincing the neighbors. The town has an ordinance banning the keeping of primates. The legal hurdles that she faced when she first got them would have been a nightmare, and you'd better believe that she knew it was illegal to bring them into that town. I'm curious to know why she moved in the first place. Not that there's anything wrong about moving... But did her previous neighbors run her off? Did they feel the same about her monkeys that her new neighbors do, and make living there as unpleasant for her as they could?
      As far as an emotional support animal is concerned, why couldn't she just get a dog? What's wrong inside that doctor's head that he's on board with a monkey being a good candidate for a companion?

      I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but regardless of whether or not there are too many laws, you still have to adhere to them. You don't get to just shove the ones aside that you don't think should apply to you. You don't get to break them just because you're not emotionally secure enough to stand on your own. If you have a legitimate medical condition that makes a particular law detrimental to your physical health, you file for a waiver.
      Knowing the legal hurdles she had to cross to keep a monkey in her previous home, if it was even legal to own it there, she knew that if she wished to keep her monkey, she had to check the laws in that town before moving the monkey to her new home. So if I'm running late for work one morning, then because I'm late the law shouldn't apply to me, and if I'm traveling at 90MPH I can just use the no one got hurt excuse to excuse my behavior if a police officer pulls me over. Bonnet macaques are actually very easygoing compared to other macaques as well as a bit smaller. I’ve had one as a rescue for a while now and she’s still a sweetheart of a monkey.
    Edit: I only have one, I can’t imagine having more than one of them since they are a good bit of work(especially since mine was a rescued “exploited” baby monkey.)
