My Dad worked at the North American Aviation plant in the Fairfax district of Kansas City, Kansas: producing 6608 of the total 9816 of these warbirds. His job was installing and calibrating the flight instruments. They also serve . . . Happy Father's Day.
My late father from Kansas City flew the B-25J with the 345th Bomb Group, 499th Squadron that your father produced at the Fairfax Plant. His job was spreading hate and discontent which was done efficiently.
My father was a Staff Sargent in WWII based at MacDill Field. He was responsible for inspecting other bases in the south eastern US. He insisted upon and was assigned a B25 Mitchell. He felt safer with the nose gear. His pilot was a capable but crazy Major. We have lots of wonder and wakey stories about the Mitchell which my dad shared with us.
An excellent presentation - thank you!
You're very welcome!
Love the Mitchell.

The B-25 Mitchell is indeed the only US military aircraft named after an individual.
I thought so! Thanks for confirming.
I think you meant to say “750 miles EAST of the home islands of Japan”
I thought I put a correction on that one!
Hey this is really good
I'm glad you liked it!
I've never seen an aircraft carrier on the ground in China, which is where you said they were, at 750 miles west of Japan.
It’s been a while since someone picked up on that one! Yes, I forgot my compass that day!
