A friend of mine gave me one of these just last year, new and still in the box (it had been in his mom's storage shed for years) and it's the best vacuum I've EVER had. It blows my mind every time I use it.
My mother had the bagless self propelled and I remember the day it broke, our glass end table shattered and she got the Hoover and it quit running we were always a Hoover family
I’m one of the only people that actually likes the twin chamber set up. I like it how it is easy to clean since there is no big cyclone with screws, you just turn the filter to get rid of the dust. It is messy, but definitely better than the Eureka whirlwind setup. I was shocked at how well these perform. These pick up so much fine dust and carpet fibers. I wish they offered a longer hose for these or made a stretch hose like they did for the self propelled and windtunnel supreme models. I always prefer the Maytag models compared to the TTI ones. The TTI models look generic looking, and they don’t sound that well compared to the Maytag motors. Sadly my model didn’t come with the turbo brush, but I know the original ones were better. I have the TTI turbo brush from another machine and the brushroll shaft gets clogged easily.
I don't dislike the system either, if anything, I believe it's very elaborate for being a mostly simple bagless system. My only gripes with it, are that is does NOT work well with the direct air Elite platform, but Windtunnel's and EmPower's, they're just fine. Just keep the filters clean (something that's quite a foreign concept to your average consumer), and it can last a long time.
My mom had a Turbopower 7100 version of the windtunnel bagless from the maytag store in 2001 until it died in 2005. Its somewhat an improvement over the elite versions but it still have some problems with the twin chamber system being a not so great design. I still prefer the bagged versions over theses.
True, but you have to admit, as much trouble of cleaning out as the twin chamber system gives you, the cleaning performance makes up for it, it's certainly better than other Bagless vacuums of the time.
True on that one. The cleaning performance is suretanly better then other bagless vacs and somewhat the only good bagless Hoover they offer in that time despite having the twin chamber system. I'm just more of a bagged person.
Rick Hoover we also had the same model like yours, it been a pretty good vacuum until it started losing suction but other than that it lasted a long time
I have this exact vacuum now. Bought it for $5 at a garage sale. It works but heavy as heck. I just replaced the belt. I don't know how much it actually cost though.
I just bought a 2002 year model works great need a lid I will but it got the vacuum for 32 bucks with shipping I bought one BECAUSE they are getting rare to find
Hey Grayson! I have one of these and it works like a dream until I want to use the hose. There is very little suction through it. I have checked the nozzle hole on the front of the vacuum behind the beater bar, the small hose that connects to the upright, and the hose itself. No clogs anywhere. When I check for suction with the canister off, where the bottom of the HEPA filter meets with the small filter under the canister, it's fantastic, very strong, but like I said, it's very weak through the hose. Think you could help?
The selector valve may be stuck, broken, or that's sadly by its design. Usually the valve is supposed to shut and divert to the hose when the vacuum is in the standing position.
@@graysonsvacsandmowers5426 I didn't know there was a selector, I looked everywhere for something to switch to and tool, but I can't find anything. Thank you for the response.
