    Love this!!! My mom is haitian. Didn’t teach me because she suffered a lot of persecution and bullying as a kid for not speaking English. I decided to teach myself and I wish this video was around when I started teaching myself. I love it! Can’t wait to teach my children

    Im a white boy who group up in a haitian household and the music in the background brought me back to the family parties they used the throw and i would be up til 3am dancing and eating and having fun. I miss my haitian family. They tried to teach me the language but i was so young i didnt appreciate it. Now im back here trying to learn so i can visit them and impress them. Thank you for your lessons!

    Thank you so much My dad is Haitian and my mom is Jamaican but my dad never taught me Haitian Creole I always used to hear him talking with my family I only know certain words but I’ve always wanted to be able to understand and talk to my elders and soon teach my children

    Thank you for this video. My mom is from port-au-prince, but struggled to learn English and had a hard time growing up in the US due to language barriers. She decided to make sure I learned English first because of it, but now I want to learn Haitian Creole to surprise her and have a little piece of her home 💕

      I feel you. My dad's side is Haitian. My grandma passed recently and she only spoke creole. Since she's gone I've been longing to get closer to my roots

    Haitians are the most peaceful people and very social. I have decided to learn their beautiful language in hope that one day l will pay a visit to this famous world' s. first black Independent country. May God remember Haiti 2024.

    Im looking to learn and become fluent in Haitian Creole and I just found your channel. My people (on 1 side) are of Hatian decent and some earlier gens spoke but later gens were not taught. I did, however, learn French in high school so one challenge is NOT to say the certain words the French way. I'll get it tho! I do not yet know how far you went with teaching the lessons, but I'm subscribed now, so I will find out. If you have any other recommendations for others channels teaching, pls inform. Thank you for sharing with us.

      @@ryangreenwood1270 It is useful but its level of usefulness depends on if you are using it as a sole source of learning, or if you are using it as one tool out of many to learn. There are less resources available for learning Creole than other languages, so I would also suggest using a language exchange app as well.

      Creole derives mostly from French and is also a mixture of several languages including Spanish.

    It was pretty easy for me, I've never spoken my language before and i like it probably also explains why English doesn't make sense to me sometimes. Oh btw I'm Haitian American and Native American a big half of my family is native from my mom's side and my dad's side.

    Our church has a large Haitian outreach, and we fellowship throughout the year at our general and international meetings. I am trying to learn the language and culture so that I can mingle with my Haitian sisters in the Lord, and who knows, maybe even visit Haiti one day!

    As someone who knows Spanish at a very beginner's level, I gotta say I do see and hear plenty of Spanish words and influences. Like Y in Haitian Creole is also very close to the Spanish words for Y, I griega.

    Currently learning Haitian via Duolingo and I wish the first thing they taught was the alphabet and numbers because I think learning would have been a little easier just started about 3 weeks ago

    I'm Seychellois... Our creole is 98% compatible 🤣🤣 I'm sure Mauritian creole is around 70 something percent...... Would love to see a Haitian a Seychellois and a Mauritian in a conversation 🤣🤣🤣

    Because of the way I spoke when I was young, my parents thought that I spoke Creole when I didn't (I would have this accent when I speak to zoes if you know what I mean). I spoke a little at that time but I wasn't fluent.

    I'm new to your channel let's learn 🇭🇹 creole. I met 🇭🇹 people during Barack Obama's Presidency. In my childhood I never play with Caribbean kids I never have Caribbean friends. I never have Caribbean food in my childhood. I'm ready to try 🇭🇹 food & desserts. I'm allergic to seafood but I still want to try 🇭🇹 dishes
