That turned out beautiful! The Gingerbread men are really cute and I love the background. The blue mica is gorgeous and looks wonderful next to the silver additions. Great work Wendy!💜
Awww, the Gingerbread people are adorable, Wendy! 😊💕😍 LOL! You should've seen how big my eyes got, seeing you pour in half that jar of glitter! I get it, now - it's Claire-style! 😅 LOVE this gorgeous tray! The leaves are beautiful, and I really like the scattered stars and snowflake glitter! 😊❤
Hi Wendy! I love that tray 😍 it has Christmas vibes 😉👍 I like the matte gingerbread people, they look more realistic 😀 but the shiny ones scream Christmas vibes 🤩 Thanks for sharing Wendy! Have a lovely week 💕🙋🏻♂️
This video shows the possibilities are endless! There is not many Standard Poodle 🐩 Molds. Actually very very few! I am a Standard Poodle Momma and I have been searching high and low. Nothing against the Eiffel Tower but Poodles didn’t originate there. They are actually of German descent! Obviously everyone Knows them as the French Poodle but they are actually a Pudel!!
Aww, the tray is adorable. I like the light blue background, it's very snow-like, and it somehow warms up the silver leaves on top - they look like antique silver almost. Very pretty tray.
Hi Wendy, I'm so pleased you have done this experiment because I bought some wooden cookie moulds a little while ago to see if I could make inlays from them but when they arrived they did look quite rough and I was wondering how to get a better finish on them...or if that was even possible to do. I also wasn't sure whether silicone would come out of them okay. Now I've seen this I feel confident to give it a go 😊 The outcome after brushing the mould with resin was much better and I wouldn't have thought of doing that! Your tray came out stunning, I especially love the background colour and the branches around the edges. As always, a huge thank you for inspiring us all 🩷
Absolutely brilliant comparison Wendy. I love your tray! I have the Istoyo mixer. I may have to get a Let's Resin one now lol. ❤Gail. Oh, and I love the gingerbread inlays ❤
That turned out adorable and frosty looking…. I definitely think you should try dark blue with silver sparkles… Winter night? Thanks for keeping my mind occupied tonight…. Claire has been sending peaceful vibes… 🥵
To colour cured resin you need to get it to stick. Try spraying it with isopropyl alcohol to give it a little tackiness. Or use metal size glue and wait for it to go clear 😀💜👍
So cute, and my brain is churning. We use a tiny tree because. Cats. 4 of them. 😂 I have been making one inch resin gingerbread people to add this year, and this tray with tan people and a pink background would be perfect. ❤
Beautiful piece and fun to watch you make it….could you have sprayed the wooden piece with varnish? Maybe several light layers to make it shiny..just a thought
It would make the mould shine for sure. But I don’t think the silicone would cure next to it. Well not the type I use. It’s quite particular what surface it likes. Uv resin wouldn’t work either 💜💜😀
Wendy, I love the end results! I agree that maybe a darker blue might have been a better choice, but I love the blue that you used as well. Thank you so much for a wonderful video. I've heard that there are resins that are food safe...is this true or just a mistaken comment that I've heard somewhere?
Well perhaps it is, but I would not state that on a video unless I was 100% sure and I’m not. So do some research and I hope you find your answer 😀😀💜👍🥰
Question: could you put clear contact paper or something of that sort on the serving part of the tray so you can use it for cookies or will that react with the resin? Useable or not, it's still gorgeous! Thank you. ❤.
Hi Wendy. You always outdo yourself. I hope one day I will achieve more skill. For example: I’m working on some Christmas presents for friends and family. I have watched you in several videos where you’re using mica powder. You said, at least I think this is what you said, you dip or mix your mica powder in 99% alcohol. Very, very little, and it goes in so nicely and looks like it goes in thicker giving the mica power a more dark vibrant look. I have tried and tried to use this method, but it never works. Can you please advise me on what am I doing wrong? Keep up the good work and see you at 2:00. Which is 25 minutes from now for me.
No The silicone I use doesn’t cure next to UV resin. So it would stay sticky. But some silicones types would work fine. Silicone is such an awkward thing 🤣🤣
Hi Wendy, I really love this tray the gingerbread people are also cute. But I have a question to ask sorry if its a silly request but where can I get the isopropyl alcohol from? I am in the UK
I get mine from ebay actually. I will get you the link www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176460529340?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=j1r6jcpktu-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=_S9a9NgCTvu&var=476032859250&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Or from MBF www.mbfg.co.uk/QL8495.html

Could you have used uv resin to seal the wood Wendy?
No
The silicone I use doesn’t cure next to UV resin.
So it would stay sticky.
But some silicones types would work fine.
Silicone is such an awkward thing 🤣🤣
Just a thought! would it be beneficial to cover the wood mold with silicone oil before the resin?
Before resin?
The resin will be repelled by oil of any type. So it won’t sink into the wood and will pit.
😀💜👍
