He's rolling to his right, and he's off balance, throwing back to the middle of the field against his body, and the throw was 75 yards. He threw it from the 29 and it landed 4 yards in the endzone

The longest completion in the video, excluding yards after catch -air distance of completed throw, was Rodgers. These throws were off balance. Simple fact. Funny thing is I wasn’t comparing him to Brady, but you got all butt hurt by it. I’m a HUGE Packers fan. Brady is a better QB than Rodgers all day. But what I said in my comment was simply true.

Go watch #2 again where Brady throws a 73+ Yd strike to Moss, Moss had NO separation. I hear fans who hate Brady, NOT YOU even if you do, say Brady can't throw deep. This video and many other clears that BS up. The only difference is Brady's fans know that throwing deep is low on the list, 1. In The Pocket 2. CLUTCH 3. Leadership is above deep throws by far.

I've never been a sports person but these were crazy. The mechanics behind these throws fascinates me, they aren't just throwing with their arms, they put their entire body into these throws, they start at that back foot and launch that ball with their whole body

The throw is insane. Impromptu twisted body motion and gets that much on it! Stepping up in the pocket and getting your whole body into the throw and that is hard enough, doing that the way Rodgers did is mind boggling! Crazy arm strength!

Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are probably the 2 best QB's to do that, as of 2024. Rodgers is a beast, he's had an incredible career and I have a lot of respect for him. But I think this is where AR starts to show his age, this coming season.

Rodgers last throw was going to his left without much of a platform. Also, his game winning bomb against the Lions to his tight end (Rodgers) had an incredible amount of hang time. There's a video from a fan showing how it almost hit a support beam on the roof of the stadium. That's amazing on a throw that traveled almost 70 yards. It's tough to defend a pass like that because it's coming almost straight down and defenders are not used to seeing that.
The number 1 throw went 74 yards on a throw across the body.

I thought every one of these 10 examples would be of John Elway throwing the ball. Because no one has ever come close to throwing a ball as far as he did. This guy needs far better archive footage. I can personally recall several times watching Elway throw a ball over 75 yards.

There were a couple of those not even close to the correct distance, but the bigger question is how on Earth is it possible that Brady (always known as a medium-arm strength QB) would have 3 or 4 of the longest throws? I'm guessing there are about 40 or 50 (at least) not on this list that are longer.

Moss was doubled on both, showing the pig hotheadedness of Billichek, could have made a big play on the open other side, when all that was needed was a FG. Moss is 50-50 on a double team, open guy is 100% certainty.

Great idea in only including yards in the air but saying the throws in the video are longest in the “HISTORY” of NFL is quite a claim for a league that is 98 years old. Good job on Bradshaw in SB. Off the top of my head I think the longest completion in the air that I have seen was Eagles Vick to Jackson first play of game vs Washington in 2010 with a pass that was about 71 yards in the air. Again, great idea but using History in the title & almost all plays in last 10 years a tough claim but your efforts are appreciated.

Ninth went 70, not 72.
Tenth one went 67, not 73.
Last one went 71, not 74.
Some of these are close, and if the receiver didn’t touch it, they might go another 1-2 yards, but some aren’t even close…..

They’re not measuring yards gained by the time the ball is caught, they are measuring pure air yards which can be longer than the yards gained if the pass was at all diagonal.
For anyone who can’t read, this is in air passes. Therefore it is from the spot of the throw to the where it lands. Not a little rinky dinky 20 yard pass that leads to a 92 yard gain. Hence the reason it says “in air”.

I'm not trying to ignite a Brady-Rodgers debate here - I think they're the two best ever, and I'd take Rodgers. As for the throws shown here, all of Brady's were incomplete; the last throw by Rodgers did draw a PI. As for that throw (#1), that went a good 74 yards, and amazingly, he threw it that distance - to a perfect spot - while moving to his left, under pressure, and barely planting his foot. I'd like to see some other bombs by Elway, Favre, Randall, among others who could really air it out.

During the 1996 NFL quarterbacks competition on TV several QB's competed in various categories: Accuracy at 10, 20, 30, 40 yards, time in an obstacle course and longest throw for distance with 3 attempts. This included Elway, Favre, Randall Cunningham and several others. Elway's best 65 yards on the fly, Cunningham 72 yards, Brett Favre 78 yards in the air. Now that's a gun !!!

My one issue with the Brady ones (and last Rodgers one) is that almost all of them are incomplete. I think putting the ball and a catchable position is important for it to count as a long throw
