I love watching this stylist cut hair. She makes it look so Easy. Her sections are always straight , her angle of holding the hair is right on. She is a very good cutter.
I tried to follow a tutorial, wrote every step down and did it following the video pausing and replaying it but you're right I failed with the sectioning of the hair I find that so difficult even though we use the same hairbrush and everything

Used this guide to give myself a quarantine cut. Luckily I have the sides shaved, so only had to do the top. It was challenging to do myself, but I'm pretty happy with the results considering I've never cut my own hair before! Thank you!

@@pyron1c Well, it actually went pretty well. I was extremely nervous, and I hadn't anticipated the juggling act between comb, scissors, and fingers holding hair. Her friend Facetimed her about 2/3rds of the way through, which added to the tension. Her hair is much finer than the demos, and was already shorter, so grabbing each section was not smooth at first. But I got through it, and she actually told me the other day she was impressed that it was falling into place/styling correctly afterward. She even said the same to her friend, which was gratifying since I know that might be a more honest assessment.

I'd seen a similar video [about an hour long, working on a mannequin head, guy with tattoos was stylist]. It was inspiring, so I finally tried myself. [It's nearly impossible to get a stylist who can (or will) do this !] It was OK; but today I messed up (the back : ( so I'm trying to find that video again. This is the closest one to that... now I know what I did wrong (besides rushing). Excellent video. 🙏🏼
Wow thank you! My husband wanted me to have a short pixie cut, not my favorite.. but I followed this for his birthday, loosing because I didn’t have a fine tooth comb. And.. it still turned out okay!! My hair is slightly wavy too, maybe that helps hide the errors. But yeah I’m surprised actually, it has the right shape.

is it possible to do it myself I've been wanting a pixie for years now and bc quarantine I am trying to do it myself....So is it possible to do this myself or should I just go with an undercut and use clippers?
Such a talented lady! One suggestion so you will have a long career doing what you are so great at...you will wear your shoulders and neck out early on if you cut with your elbow up in the air like that..change your stance, lower the chair. .I wish I had listened to an instructor that taught the importance of working while having good body alignment.❤
