I plan on expanding on that for a video just focused on it - I think that it's the most important thing that we can get right as the entire paintjob is drawn from it.
Awesome! Basically do the same thing as this but stop before painting the black over it, but then glaze some black down towards the cool part. You could even add in a little bluish grey to the edges of that
Wow :) I’ll try to replicate this but stop just before you add a the beige color to it. For me that gives it a more golden look - not that I’m hating on the end product, I just want the hot steel look :)
Absolutely! In a universe where magical elf space wizards keep their past colleagues souls trapped inside gemstones so that they can have a chat, any kind of lava is possible! Just make sure you create spots that are hot or super cool
Ooh, lava sword. You have my attention.
Gotta get that magma on!
Dave &Larry are the MVP of this Vid
Haha - quality boys :D
For me being an Iron Warriors player, that hazard stripes frame is very satisfying...😂
I really like it!
I love your explanations of paint consistency - it's really helpful and not something many people cover.

Brilliant
Jay is now off to join Rada
Lava swords. My favourite type of swords. Wish I could paint an army with cool looking swords like that!
You totally can man! Just paint over some of what you've already done :D
@@MohawkMiniatures never! My swords look amazing. Thank you for all the effort you have put in to getting me to a place where I can paint them!
It was all you man, I just showed you what to do!
lava sword, for when you wanna slag someone off
When a hot and spicy comment just isn't enough!
Commenting because I like it and was told to do so if that was the case. Best lava/firebrand I’ve seen on a blade. Nice work indeed.
Thanks a lot man! Appreciate it!
Dave and Larry , love it
Couldn't think of better names :D
Brilliant, start to finish!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the intro on this one.
Haha I'm glad! You're in the 50% of positives then :D
well the helped me focus my experments (not after lava swords but after a red/amber hot just forged look)

Lovely blade, definitely will be using some of these techniques going forward. Well done!
Awesome! Let me see it in the WIP when you do!

What characters do you think deserve a weapon like this?
Vulkan!
Vulcan, and maybe Gabriel Seth
I can see Seth with this kind of weapon!
Great video keep it up man
Thanks brother!
Another great intro mate.
Really on fire with this 1!
I'd love to give this a try.
Might this work for a lightning effect?
I'd follow the red lightning effect video for that tbh mate, You might be able to add this over the top but it would likely look muddled
@@MohawkMiniatures yeah was thinking lightning blue/white but with this painting technique theory!
With the Black Molten flow over it. 😁
Nice video, loved the silly intro :)
Yay! Good to hear man!
Would this process work for all colours, I like to give my models blue/ice coloured blades.

Pure gold
Haha thanks man, appreciated!
Khorne approves 🔥🤘
Well it is a chaos marine.....
Sick!!!
Cheers man!
