Well you look a like aa lassie yet a marvelous voice, maybe surpassed by your guitar. In these old tapes you look to be happy doing what you were doing so well. Thankyou , Ian.
Andy comes to Darwen every autumn we love him ... fingers crossed he will be back with us sooooon.......and memories of the 60's plus the fantastic stuff he does now!!!!!!
Was a brill song to write as a young player , I read the chords written out , slight jazzy sound chords amazingly put together. It shows he had talent right from the beginning of his career , Not easy to play
If you have not managed to see Andy and the band yet.........get to see him as soon as you can.You will come away wanting more.We have two of his shows booked before the year is out and we are counting the days.
This is a really beautiful song about booze's terrifying grip. If you really listen it's about a man in despair and I can relate to that - my old fellas boozing was a huge problem when we were kids when this was in the charts. And all of my major 'asshole' moments as an adult have usually involved heavy drinking.
Took me 50 years to really appreciate this song.. A perfect 3 and a bit minutes..
