    I watch a lot of TH-cam channels. You are by far the realest, hardest working, most honest, truthful, humble person out there. You have a lot to be proud of. May God bless you in your new home.

    For the longest time I felt you were just doing this just for the sake of putting out videos and making money from them, but after listening to the end of this video it's clear I misjudged you, I can see now that the hustle is not born from greed but by the great desire to just do better. Keep pushing Randy, great respect for sharing your life story . Love from Barbados.

    Get that white truck running enough so you can pull that nice new trailer away from the front and down along side of your building...the way that trailer is sitting its almost like you are advertising it FOR STEAL!!!

    Easier to drop both the subframes then transfer the motor/trans to the good one and reinstall the good one... It's kinda a PITA to pull it from the top. Rebolt the empty sub in to be able to move it. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!!!

    Gidday, you are the hardest working youtuber out there. Your building is crying to have a drive through out the rear. You get a lot of house for your money in your area. Your new house costs $230k AU. That would buy the land only in most places in Australia.

  • @fredmaxwell9619
    @fredmaxwell9619 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    WOW nice of your land lord allowing you to move cars to his place. Safety first there, ear plugs and gloves. You still could drop the whole sub frame remove the engine from the sub frame and then put the sub frame back in. Hey I grew up in several trailer parks. My father did not cheat but it was always greener on the other side of the hill so we were always looking for the other side of the hill.

  • @JamesBond-yw3dj

    Cut the cv joints with the sawsall so the wheels stay on to move the car and remove the bar in the front connected to the subframe will give you more room. Good work man. 👍

    I owned a shop in Michigan for 40 yrs. and scrapped and reassembled cars ---TIP: save all bolts and clips and undamaged parts and put all the damaged parts way out of the way! Don't leave one good screw on the pulled junk (That hardware pile will save your butt on future cars!) The good spare parts removed put out of the way if they aren't going on this car! Salvage everthing the Wiper blades to shift knob and little relays and switches They are valuable on future fixes or you can trade parts (Let Weird Beard see the stash you will create) Good luck Randy REMEMBER to save all parts from that parts car!

    Hey randy I did something similar, It was on a Cruze with the 1.4 turbo, similar to what you are doing, (we took the engine out the top) I recommend you use jacks and lower the entire sub frame it will be easier. Also recommendation get Mitchel / All data they might be expensive but they are worth it

    Like someone else mentioned, I would recommend that you drop the entire subframe from both cars, and then put the good engine/trans with the good subframe. I pulled an engine out of a 2015 Focus the top way, and it was miserable. It would have been much easier to drop the subframe on the first place.

    Drop the sub frame and change engine is the easiest option. Either way, front suspension will require to be worked as you will have to take the driveshafts out. Least if you drop the subfames, easier to swap bits in a workable environment 😉

    Randy, please words of advice (TH-cam comments privilege lol) 1. Eye protection! Those thousands of pretty orange sparks are molten steel. Not eyeball compatible. 2. Gloves good idea (you already noticed why!) 3. Ear protection, especially with grinder 4. Don't push so hard on the grinder, let the disc do the work. 5. Those hose clips have a small hole on the clip you put a small screwdriver in, bend it back slightly and it'll pop right off! Good luck with everything though, done plenty of engine replacements over the years, and no longer want to do any more :-)

    It's not a full subframe setup so the main engine and gearbox mounts are probably on the body not the subfame, apart from the engine steady mount at the bottom, would take engine and gearbox out first, hopefully the rear cast aluminum subframe is fine and just the box section is bent👍

    On that truck Randy the Idle Air Control solenoid is exactly as it sounds, it's a little magnetic solenoid that opens a little flapper that controls the idle. They are notorious for gumming up with deposits and get stuck open causing the vehicle to stall/run like shit. Remove it and blast that sucker with throttle body cleaner and it should work fine again. Disconnect the battery when doing this because some of them have a little "computer" in them that can send a kill signal to the ECM (had this happen on a 2000 Maxima). Hope you get it fixed!

    Isn't it amazing how things work out. I'd still do a trench or something to keep the rain out, especially with your landlord helping you out like that. I'm sure he'd appreciate it. You really don't want to deal with that water in there. If I was close I'd do it for you. I remember when I was working for a contractor where 2 guys took pretty much all day to clean out about 50' or so for a sidewalk. I did one the same size and it might have taken me an hour or so. A pick axe works great. If you don't have one, maybe your landlord does. I can't help you with the engine though, just not familiar with that. Thanks for sharing. Should meet with an official just to see, And like someone said, don't leave that trailer out there. Even with the wheel lock, someone could probably just hoist it up on another trailer and be gone. I lost an $900 bicycle because I figured I'd just be in the store for a few minutes and was too lazy to put the $30 lock I had on it. It was gone when I came out. I know who took it because there was a guy across the road by a bicycle and when I came out, he was gone but his bike was still there. I was in Wichita, Kansas, on my ride from east ny. I was ready to go back home anyway but sucked losing the bike it was, I believe a Trek 525, 21 speed with the gear changer on the end of the handles. Really nice and a dark forest green. And then a about 5 yrs ago I had another road bike I had put a couple hundred dollars in and I had a chain with a locked padlock, so I couldn't really lock it but I'd wrap it around something to make it look locked. The one time I did it, it was gone because, again I was too lazy to make it look like it was locked. Now with my '88 Raleigh Technum Tri-lite I just rebuilt I make sure its locked. Such is life, lol. Thanks for sharing. Nice you got a sponsor. I believe we get what we give.

    Think how the factory did it - out the bottom (or rather in from the bottom). So I would take the wheels off, drop the car down, block the engine / subframe / suspension on the floor and using your car lift raise the body off the whole damn lot. Lift out the engine etc and then drop the body down back on the subframe. Doesn't matter if all the bolts don't fit as its a scrapper anyway.
    Nice back story Randy. Some of us share your experiences. Well done mate.
