- Poly Bridge 2 is the bridge building game I am playing today! I continue to using real life engineering principles and judgement learned from my job as a real civil engineer to complete the early levels and climb the leaderboards! If you've ever wondered how a real engineer would do at Poly Bridge 2 or whether Poly Bridge 2 is realistic, then this is gameplay series for you. I try to keep things entertaining and funny whilst also teaching engineering skills and principles that can be applied to bridge designing and bridge building. Oh, and I also unlock Evel Knievel as a playable character so there's that too!!
If you enjoy the video please give it a like and subscribe to the Real Civil Engineer channel for notifications when I post future videos! Thanks!!

Hello wonderful viewers! With my first milestone of 100 subs rapidly approaching I thought it'd be cool to do a special video where I answer any questions you might have. Please reply to this comment if you have anything you want answered in it! Thanks all, enjoy the vid!
Obvious question. What got you interested into engineering?
What is your favourite game?
Is there a fake civil engineer?
How much time do you usually have to make these videos? and when?
How long was your carreer as a civil engineer?
Select "unbreaking only" on leaderboard! There is no point comparing your budget to someone whose bridge collapsed
69th like by me
Architecture - curvy, fancy, kinda works. Engineering - straight lines, boring, mathy, works better. Great video once again.
You got it, unfortunately engineers and architects have to work in harmony which is never easy with our different mind sets!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming Honestly that last bridge that got you the top 500 was quite elegant in structure. There is something about a thin, narrow arch that is just naturally beautiful.
actually eggshaped is structurally the most sound and ancient and medieval architecture & engineering incorporates those formes a lot and still holds up much better than modern steel & concrete. Look at Hagia Sophia, its earthquake prove.
Always a gem to find smaller channels I'm interested in.
Thanks James it's really appreciated!
He isn't so small anymore aha he had a subscriber explosion when the TH-cam algorithm hit!
@@thefireocean1 22k is small
@@xcalixus You try getting 22k subscribers in less than three months. See how that goes. 22k isn't small. That's a lot of people. It's not massive compared to some TH-camrs but It's definitely not small.
TheFireOcean now he has 40k
you can click view in gallery after the level and then sort by budget to see the best designs.
Whaaa, why did I not know this! Thanks!
Cheater
@@itzspiro6047 how is that cheating?
@@too_s1mple705 it's using other people's design. In my opinion that's cheating because there's no challenge anymore
@@itzspiro6047 he says AFTER, you're cheating by watching these videos... bellend
This is one of the OG videos of RCE
Can't belive this guy made me fall in live with bridges ......
From 100to 1 million
This is insane. You went from 100 subscribers to 219,000 in less than a year.
ikr and he’s still growing fast
You should do a video of just reacting to people's crazy solutions from the gallery ;)
Haha I have been thinking about this doing this actually, love that it's a feature in the game. Really interesting to see other people's solutions!
I'm going to inform you about this thing.
Your channel is showing up in recommended, that means you will MOST LIKELY get a huge boom in subscribers.
Your channel is, and will stay growing fast.
Thanks, it's great to know TH-cam DOES promote the smaller guys too!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming Honestly, i'm super glad that your channel can grow. You deserve it, man.
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming dude they predicted the future
@@jpthepug3126 :3
@@jpthepug3126 call it an uneducated guess
12:55 now that's just overengineering
🤣 properly made me laugh that!
I learned how the “chain of force “ works by watching these videos o.o I’ve predicted where every break occurs for the past 7 mins now
Great work!
I was watching aliensrock then I thought "how would an engineer play this game?" I searched "engineer plays polybridge" and found you
Great stuff, you probably expected something completely different! 😂😅 Welcome to the channel though and hopefully see you in the comments on a future video!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming yeah lol, I expected more complex explanations I won't understand but got these entaertaing videos
Yeah unfortunately engineering explanations don't make very good videos! 😅 Glad you enjoyed anyway though!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming I think it would be fun to put in a bit of engineering terminology and explanation here and there :)
found you from aliensrock comment section, and i am not disappointed by what i see. Im looking forward to new videos! Also use reinforced roads, they help in the middle and start/end of the bridges where alot of the weight is being applied.
Welcome to the channel! Wasn't expecting people to find me that way but that's good to know. Thanks for the kind words!
"I'll be a bit more boring and engineery, it's more stable due to maths rather than fancy curves." *bridge breaks in the exact same spot*
Nice editing. Less dull moments
All killer no filler 😅
"Seems to be holding"
69% stress before the bus even starts moving
I bought PolyBridge 2 after watching a bunch of the newer videos. I went back looking for these older videos for insights on how to make my first bridges cheaper (without exploits, since I'm not an architect) but Future Matt has clearly taught me well. Thanks to Future Matt's techniques my first bridges are already cheaper than these Past Matt ones. Thanks, Future Matt!
But I'm still having trouble with hydraulics.
The last one needs to be a tension bridge
That humming was wonderful. Really miss it now.
Once I saw a video where the guy built the bridge going under the map, it was super cool, could you try to do it?
Under the map?? Do you mean just under the water or...? I will investigate this for sure, thanks for the suggestion!
I feel like I've just worked out what you mean, you literally go outside the map and underneath. Wow this is a great idea, will defo try this on a future video!!
The video is th-cam.com/video/2uZx9Ry4Woo/w-d-xo.html for anyone wondering
@@masrock9203 watch my 100 sub special when it comes out sometime next weekend, slightly different result.....
Watching you problem solve is very therapeutic.
Wibblin is my new favorite word. Thanks RCE. I cracked up at that for no reason.
"if I was an ambulance I would cheese it" is probably my favorite sentence now
That last bridge was beautiful
That little intro bit reminds me of me.. ALL THE TIME.
I don't understand any of this game nor any of what's happening in it so it's fun to watch someone who does figure it out
Would love to see other people’s solutions after you’ve finished your design
Hi, just subscribed. Never heard of this game. Now I want it. I'll be watching more of your videos 😂
Absolutely love the videos man!
10:13 when you forget your joint
13:40 you should try diamond shapes
they are really strong
Intro top notch stuff
That land bridge one confused the hell out of me
Yo, 3 months and u gained a mil, congrats bro
My favourite bridge designing tool is Spirograph
3:36 Top score of $57 with no breaks??
No way
"Ooh, we got rope"... no rope used. 😏
More he plays Poly Bridge he is getting more comfortable on TH-cam. You can notice it in the intro
Despite my sub count this is all very new to me! 😅 Thanks for the comment!
That limo's Running in the 90's I hear. Have never seen an ambulance in emergency mode driving 7 kmh.
amazing title😂😂
really enjoyed your content
"it's not a rhyme it's the same word!", try telling that to a rapper
0:06 thats what she said
😅
People probably did falling roads on the fourth bridge, just roads falling then launching the vehicle
Ooooh good boi
Doth mine eyes deceive me? Is this the start of RCE's knob addiction?
Probably could've took out the three outside-most wood supports and had the end bits of road supported on a single vertical wood beam each.
mans just said engineering is all about math like engineers don't approximate π as 3
I didn't say accurate math... 😅
Can every intro be like this one please? haha
😂😂
Haha I can't force it, it just happens! 😅
Kinda looking architectural there.
3:35 How did anon win that level whit 57 dollars
amazing intro ahahahaha
😂😂
Good luck
*watches first 20 seconds*
....
Engineers are fucking weird. I say that with love.
the guy right over you just used a dollar less
Ooh we got rope and shit this time"
you're only bad at the biker level because of falling roads. dont worry, they suck
Are you actually an engineer or no cuz I just started watching and I can’t figure out if you are
This is my third rewatch and I just noticed this came out at 100 subs. I Didn't realize how OG of a viewer I was.
i did the 1-13 without hydrolics and steel and reinforced road and no breaking
You don't want it to be the sound of the real bike as it is copyrighted...
Yeah, the sound of these motors is copyrighted. :D
Fun Fact: In 1994 Harley Davidson tried to trademark the sound thier v-twin engine made.
Wait what?? You have only been around for 2 years???
When your account is deleted and you can’t find your comment :(
All this hate on architects... If it weren't for architects you'd be living under a bridge... Though I imagine you'd like that a lot. 🤣
# 1 for the cycle bridge...was $141 ???/ How can that even be a thing without being a total HACK??? Do they even check these boards for fakers and hackers?
Level 1-12 someone finish with only $57..
How is this possible 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like this dude and his recent videos, but this was a true clickbait, no stunts done.
#1 for rock rest did that with $57 how
Wow
Lel
Everyone just did a falling road
This is good stuff you don't overact. Your commentary is really toned down and tolerable

are you realy engineer ?
it seems that you dont now simple things
1. He is.
2. Lets see you making a bridge IRL.
3. Even if he wasn't, what good does your comment do?
🤦♂️ Stop trying to "attach" your structure to the banks and rocks... You can actually attach things to the Red Points, like on banks and pilings. That Limo level was just ridiculous to watch
