Writing a research paper over Dharmachakra Bodhisattva, it is a statue depicting Maitreya. While I personally don't believe in Buddha, I really find the history and stories interesting. This is very beautiful too!

I think Maitreya would not come to our world in any of our lifetimes.
There are many cycles of the world. Worlds are remade many, many times over...
In the future, our Earth will be remade, humans will be gone, but another intelligent life will rise to take our place , perhaps not even on Earth, but on another planet entirely, and that is when another Buddha needs to teach the beings once more about the Dhamma, to show them the way.
The Buddha of our time is Shakyamuni, His teachings have lasted for 2,600 years, and it will last until the end of humanity. There will not be another Buddha in any of our lifetimes, because it isn't neccessary.

Maytreya came on the earth during the 19th Century as Baha'u'llah (1817-1892). His spirit of love and compassion can be experienced through his numerous prayers, poems, meditations and texts.
If you sincerely search for the next manifestation, you will be rewarded by the floods of love and justice that Baha'u'llah left behind him in this world.
Through the whole East and Middle East history, only one holy manifestation claimed to be Maytreya, this is Baha'u'llah.

i wonder why christians hate buddhist people so much. buddhism has been existing thousand years before Jesus' era. what did we do wrong to you that you hate us so much? Maitreya was mentioned as Future Buddha long time ago before Messiah came

Luxmee Shrestha - You are so right. There are so many similarities between Jesus and Maithree Buddha than there are differences. Besides Jesus did not intend to make a religion. He just preached compassion.
Conventional western monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) and Western science are two bickering but very contented sons of the Herding Culture. Their father is the Herding Culture (Animal Agriculture) which is the practice of reductionism (Reducing sentient beings with spiritual consciousnesses to mere objects and things to be used (eaten and worn etc...)
