    That's nice how you just operated the room to a neutral position. If the motor is bad, how do you do that? S/O completely closed. One side will not move. Now what? You showed how to change out a GOOD motor. Yayyyyy😒

      To confirm that the motor is bad, I would recommend pulling the black and red wires out of the top of the channel and apply direct power to them with an alternate power source. Some people take the battery pack off their 12v power tools and touch the wires to the contact pads on the battery. Then reverse the wires to operate it in the other direction. This is actually a faster confirmation test than using the manual override tool provided with the RV. If you have confirmed that the motor will not work with alternate power, then it will be necessary to contact our technical support team for recommendations at baltechsupport@norcoind.com for some tips on the best course of action.

    Norco ,
    So not knowing whats right or whats wrong but it seemd like the gentleman in video when reinstalling Jam with new motor he made NEW screw holes in side of RV. Again not knowing the procedure or seeing exactly what he is seeing. If that is the case why not use old holes over? Just asking if i need to do this in future

      When reinstalling the jambs, often the pre-punched holes will align with the original screw holes in the side wall of the RV. You can use the same holes, as long as they are not stripped out.

    Do you not also apply new caulking on the exterior framed where you cut the old caulking seal with the utility knife during removal??

      @NorcoIndustries  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, some RV OEMs apply sealant around the perimeter of the extrusions during installation and repairs. Each original equipment manufacturer has different types of sealants they may use from butyl tape, putty tape, silicone, etc.

    So the whole jam has to come out to replace just the motor?????

      Yes, that is correct. The process takes approximately 30 minutes in most cases, but when you are pacing yourself during the first time, it can take an hour to two hours.

    Fabulous video and very informative. Is there only one motor to operate that slide? Thanks for sharing the information.

    Do you have a link to the motor?

      Depending on the assembly ID and manufactured date (located inside the jamb assembly on a label) there are 12 tooth motors and 10 tooth motors for the Exact Slide. Right and Left are determined when standing inside the RV facing the slide-out.
      Assemblies manufactured 2021 and prior used 12 tooth motors: Right Hand Mount Motor R25079 and Left Hand Mount Motor R25078.
      Assemblies manufactured prior to September of 2022 use 12 tooth motors: Right Hand Mount Motor R25078 and Left Hand Mount Motor R25079.
      Assemblies manufactured September 2022 and after use 10 tooth motors: Right Hand Top Mount and Left Hand Top Mount .

    What about the screws you removed on the outside jamb behind the bubble strip?

    • @NorcoIndustries
      @NorcoIndustries  ปีที่แล้ว

      About 3:15 mins into the video, it will show the removal of the screw at the top of the exterior bulb seal, so that the bulb seal can be pulled from the track. Then the screws behind it can be backed out. After that, the anchor tabs holding the top and bottom of the jamb will need to come out. If you need more detail, feel free to email our technicians at baltechsupport@norcoind.com and they can further assist you if needed.

    So... If the gear box fails while open, how do you get the slide to move?

    • @bw6078
      @bw6078 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe there is an opening on the top of the gear box that you would insert an allen key to run with a drill. The trailer I have came with an allen key on a six inch flexible lead to fit a drill for just that purpose. I believe also there is one motor per side.

    • @NorcoIndustries
      @NorcoIndustries  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct. Each column of the mechanism contains a motor. At the end of the motor, the override flex shaft that was provided with the RV (#2 square bit attached) can be used for manual override. We recommend always using the flexible override tool, because it will twist if over-torqued and avoid damaging the gears inside the gearbox. Additionally, each motor is wired to a controller. The controller has buttons on it that will operate the motors, in the event there is an electrical issue somewhere between the switch and controller.

      @@NorcoIndustries Thank you for the reply. I have watched all of your provided video's on TH-cam and im unable to locate a video regarding the controller for this style slide. Can you provide a diagnostic video and tutorial about the controller?

    • @NorcoIndustries
      @NorcoIndustries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bw6078 We do not currently have a video for the controller. I will request one to be made. The OEM of the RV places the controller in various places depending on the floor plan. Do you have an email address? With it I can send your request for more technical information on the controllers to our Technical Support team.
