The rain really slowed progress down this week but I still tried to move forward. I got a huge help from an old teammate and good friend from work who saw Episode 5 and text me that he would let me borrow his tractor to grade the driveway. Super thankful to him! My lack of patience got me on the tractor even though I knew better. Mud, Mud, and more MUD!!
That’s what friends are for. My buddies always have my tractor. Worth every penny if you share with your buddies.
keep at it brother. you'll get it
Thank you sir! Rain might slow me down but I will always move forward!! Haha
Mannnn... I need the friends you have..🤦♂👏👏👏
Yea truly blessed to be surrounded by good people. Thanks for watching Andon!
Yeah, same. Not many people able or willing to help with any projects for stuff like this. You have been consistent and are tackling it on your own a lot too. The little victories and the big ones all make a difference!
@@mctalg-rhex3246 it’s all about the little victories😊
its Christmas a new toy you want to play with it regardless of the mud I know the feeling. Just gotta be careful and pick your days
You totally get me haha:)
Good people get good help , NICE hommie for doing you a solid. You getting going now. WE are all cheering for you man Go, Go GO! 😛👌
Ty Hank you brother! I appreciate your good vibes and words!
Good work! One step at a time.
Thank you sir!!
We always learn from our mistakes, after the fact. When the ground is squidgy then yeah heavy equipment like tractors are just going to sink and leave huge ruts. When I used to do farm work for the neighbor driving his John Deere's we always had to be careful after weather. You can "walk" them out of ruts you have dug, but if you don't know what you are doing then you can just dig even deeper holes than before and get stuck deeper than chuck. I too hate to sit on idle hands. I'm still saving up to buy that Property I want, everything I look at that is at least 5 acres, goes so quick. Trying to get back into homesteading.
Awesome Rebecca I hope you get that property. Yes sitting on idle hands is the worst. Thank you for your comment and for watching:)
There is a learning curve ... I have been stuck in Mud/snow/Ice more times than I would like to admit... Good Job, keep up the good work.
Thank you sir!!! I appreciate the words of encouragement:)
Remember good things take time, you got this
I know I know! Haha. But sometimes I forget and just want to get it done.
Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I wanted to do more this week but the rain was not my friend:)
Still looks good brother …. Like you said be patient…. Clay is a different animal for soil … remember when I was trying to get everything done on my property 🤯
Oh yea… I remember that:)
Couple things that could help. I know you probably don’t want a wide driveway but getting sun on that road. Especially in the summer. Will help a lot keep it from soaking. Also I have cleared alot of land with a 4x4 tractor here in va. It’s a little tricky to get the ground moisture just right best rule of thumb is. If front tires get wet. Stop. Also we have a 4:00pm burn ban. They will go into effect before spring. So just be careful with that. Love what you’re doing here.
This is very good intel! Thank you so much! I thought about clearing those trees so the sun could reach in but that would be a lot of trees I would have to get rid of:/.
Hey brother …. With the tractor you can use the bucket to help get unstuck …. And I’m not sure the land plane is a good choice …. Espically with mulch and wet clay and roots …
I’m not a skilled tractor operator yet to be able to get unstuck using the bucket haha. And yes I agree with you on the last part. That’s why I’ve been going through cutting roots and moving large debris. Once it dries, I have to try.
@@RuggedHavena similar attachment would work better. Box blade with ripper teeth you can adjust the teeth depth and take a little at a time. It will handle roots and smaller rocks.
@@mctalg-rhex3246 yes, my buddy is bringing those next week for me to use!
Dozer
Haha true Teresa…. So true
Hopefully you’re monetized by now, forestry mulcher here we come!!
lol I am but I only made enough to buy a pack of socks and bubble gum:)
Would it help to get a compacter in there first? Or is that a bad idea and need to prepare other things first?
I mean, i would and then grading and then compacter again, but ive never done anything like this in my life, so i might completely mess it up if it was my land lol
The tractor is watching you shovel?
Lmao yea. It got lazy and didn’t want to move. So stubborn at times:)
Yes I need a tractor but I can see muddy earth is a real challenge keep up the progress and God Bless
I saw the chain inside the bucket while you were driving the tractor, did you lose it or removed it?
I completely forgot it was there haha. But I found it and put it to the side. Good catch though!
Hind sight is 20 20 trust me I know .anyway that small voice you hear is common sense and I dont always listen to it
I would’ve gotten out of so much trouble if I listen to that voice in my head:). Ahhh well haha
thats life eh .@@RuggedHaven
