    I had an issue with my back door on the driver side not locking and unlocking. I found that the purple wire with the gray stripe was severed. This video helped me tremendously!!!!!!! Thank you for posting.....

      Awesome! Such as easy fix, once you find out the what and why.

      Had/have the same issue- Repaired it nearly 2 years ago- And "soldered" the wires - It just broke again- I can spend 60-80^ for a new harness and 3K for aggravation to remove the whole panel or "fix again" This time- am going to use some butt end connectors( short) re-solder- (better) and retape with electrical tape.
      I consider the alternative of removing the panel- And likely this is going to happen again--- Sad thing- is the rear door seldom is used- Gotta love some of these "engineers" "^)

    Hey man I wanted to personally thank you for posting this video. Because I watched you fix yours I was able to fix mine.Took only a few minutes and light went off on my dashboard cluster.Just a broken wire.Saved me 290 dollars for labor and 80.00dollars for wiring harness.i know it's just a temporary fix though,eventually I'll need to get a new one.thanks again sir

      Outstanding! It might seem like a temporary fix, however, if Ford didn't make the harness wrong, it wouldn't be a problem. Hopefully it's at least a 10 year fix, lol.

      I have 2013 and my issues is with my doors not unlocking. It started with the rear doors though it was the locking mechanism replaced both. The issue came back. So did a bit of research and found out it was a broken wire. Good video I learned a few things

    Bunmer, I got the part 93Z-14631-CAA 1X, but the one from the factory in my 2014 Super Crew Cab is nothing like this harness I bought. The connector at the rubber boot is not in the boot but further into the cab and now I have to remove the the center side panel between the doors to see where the connector goes. But the harness I bought, well no way to make it work, and also cannot find the correct one. There is no part # on the factory installed harness.

    So after I fixed the wire the car lock mechanism start working but the computer still says door is still open??? What do I do

    Thanks for the video, do you think I may have the same problem with the locking mechanism not working when usin the fob

      Hope you've found your solution by now, but it could be the reason that lock doesn't respond. I would catch my alarm going off randomly when the doors are locked and it could have been the lock finally realizing it wasn't down and actually locked.

    by chance do you have a part number for that harness? i was looking on EBAY and don't want to get the wrong part.

    Can you share a link for the connector you used. I believe you called it a “binder clip”.

      I probably just had a kit around the house that I bought from Walmart... Just any assorted wire connectors kit would probably have what you need.

      I didn't actually replace my harness, but I believe it would be 9L3Z-14631-CAA

    How long did this fix last for you? I got about a good two weeks out of mine but i soldered the connections. Now that i know there is enough space for those clips i might try them

      @jasonjones544  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Currently still working for me. It's possible you have bad wire connection in another part of the harness, or you might want to cut out the accordion piece all together if it's still messing up your fix.

      Just stopped working today. So I have to go back in and fix it again.
