    1/8 pipe tap for pressure test block off plates too. Save broken clutches for left hand nuts

      I now have a full set of tools ...this vid was just prototypes

    You can save yourself the hassle if you put the crank in the deep freeze and the bearings in the oven @ 350F. The bearings will drop right on.

      Check out my other vids. I now have crank tools. ...no more heating and cooling for me. :) once I switched I'll never go back. I've sold about 250 kits of crank tools since this vid was made. Anyone who has tried them won't go back either.

      @@matthewolson8875 MY question is can the old bearing be taken off and put on another crank ?

    • @matthewolson8875
      @matthewolson8875  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bobholmes2299 yes...but it's risky and not worth it imho. Most of the time it's super cheap to get fresh and new bearings. Unless there is a proprietary and no longer made bearing I'd get new

    im making one of these soon as i find some rod thick enough. GENIUS. next you need ot make a crank splitting tool!

    • @matthewolson8875
      @matthewolson8875  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      don't need a splitter...already proved it.. th-cam.com/video/ifEKL8VB7HY/w-d-xo.html
      :)
      I DO need a heat gun... would make life a bit easier than using a torch...

      even better :) how about oil seal removal 028 av :)

      I don't really work on many stihls... eventually I may get to them
      I'm gonna work on a ms660 china clone next and see how that goes....

    What size threaded rod did you use for the stihl 660 crank tool tapped with M10 thanks!

    Looking for a tool to install 011 avt rod bearings

      @matthewolson8875  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not familiar with that model.... some of those had roller bearings that were not pressed onto the crank. So...no press needed. For installing bearings in the crankcase there's lots of methods....which are you looking to do? Put the bearings in the case or the crank in the bearings.

    I'm using hammer 🔨 and a piece of metal pipe to push down the bearing 😒

    • @matthewolson8875
      @matthewolson8875  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can crack a lobe like that. See my newer videos for tools :)

    • @badeadrian
      @badeadrian 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@matthewolson8875 i do have a welding machine...don't worry about cracking 🙂

    • @matthewolson8875
      @matthewolson8875  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@badeadrian welding is good. Welding cast lobes back....not so much. Any time eccentric pressures are on the crank you can potentially crack it or throw is out of alignment. Best of luck.

    Freeze the crank heat the bearings to 100 deg c they fall straight on! Wtf

    • @matthewolson8875
      @matthewolson8875  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well... if you don't want to wait for a freezer and or you don't want to use heat there is another way. I ended up developing tooling for this specifically Www.mattschainsawparts.com
