Funk emerged again as the full time rapper in the interim...they let John give it a try but eventually Funk had to spearhead the band up until 1992/93 when Andre took over as lead vocalist of R.E. Essence has always been a solid band....ALWAYS. They weathered all the storms ....Rare Essence is the GOAT of D.C.
