Hey I just came across a Super Mario World rom hack that you might be interested in, assuming you don’t already know about it.
It’s called Luigi’s Misadventures 3 - Recipe for a disaster and based on the screenshots it appears to have similarities to Diagonal Mario and Mario’s Mystery Meat so it should be interesting.
The game’s plot is that Princess Peach was Kidnapped by the Delightful Children from Down the Lane (yes, from KND) so they can force her to bake a delicious cake for their birthday that they won’t share with anyone (as usual) so Luigi goes to save her.
So yeah, I think you should consider it. It’s listed as hard though so keep that in mind.
