Love this tutorial, please do you have a top tip on how spray paint the hoop without the paint running and it becoming uneven, I tried this yesterday and all the paint run over to the back and it comes off easy as it’s applied to plastic, thanks

I use spray paint that says no running (of course it still runs a little sometimes). What I found that works best is to lay it down on a flat surface (I used form board) and paint one side at a time. I let the one side dry for about 5-6 hours before painting the other side. I also spray from a distance instead of close up. I noticed that sometimes causes running when I spray to close to an object. Then I let the whole thing dry for 24 hours. If your paint is peeling off, I would suggest sanding the hula hoop with some sand paper or a sanding block (they sell these at most dollar stores)

You're welcome and Thank you! 💕 It holds up well. If you want a stronger hold on the acrylic strands you could use E6000 glue along with the hot glue.
If you plan to use this centerpiece outside in a windy area, you'll want to weight down the hula hoop by adding something like sand inside and sealing it with hot glue so it doesn't spill out. I hope that helps!

Are you using just a regular kids.sizw hula hoop from dollar tree?

I'm not sure if it was kids size. But it was the small one. At my dollar tree there were 3 sizes and I got the small. I've done other centerpieces with both the small and medium hula hoop.

I include a breakdown of where to purchase all the supplies in the description box.
DT carries the floral tape, wire, and foam. I had the crystal strands and spray paint on hand from a previous project. However, you can purchase spray paint from Michael's, Joann's or Hobby Lobby with their weekly 40% or 50% off coupon which makes it like $2-$3.
I get my crystal strands from AliExpress or eBay which are inexpensive as well.
