The Chinese team is strong and played good matches, but unfortunately it fell with Japan and South Korea in the same group
If you look at the China team's play this time, they seem like the golden generation in history, but they were unlucky to be in a group with S.Korea and Japan.
Not sure about 'Golden generation' but they do seem a lot more able to compete which is great for competitiveness
Fair point. Many of them emerged from the U-20 squad that almost qualify for the U-20 World Cup last year (lost 1-3 to South Korea after 120 minutes). I have watched them against Japan and South Korea and they did actually create a lot of chances but they failed to convert it. The UAE, meanwhile, looked pretty timid and exhausted in both two matches, as if they didn't have any chance to create for.

Hard luck for UAE and China PR. They were in such a tough group.
China was more daring than the UAE when facing Japan and South Korea and was so unlucky not to score, contrast to the timid approach of the UAE against both Japan and South Korea. It would be unfair to state but the UAE has to blame themselves for this humiliation.

As a Tunisian living in the UAE for a few years now, the UAE football has been in such a deteriorating shape to a point that there is a rivalry between Abu Dhabi and Dubai that disrupted football there. Youth football has been neglected by the UAEFA for years now and this crop of players is a product from this negligence. The worst I have ever seen. I feel sorry for the situation but the UAE's football crisis is just on the beginning. It's gotta be worse.

Interesting to see UAE showing such an abysmal performance. Very poor strikers combined with poor defending. I failed to understand why Paulo Bento opted for the UAE job, the UAE's youth football system in recent years has been in a pretty bad shape (failed to qualify for U17 and U20 Asian Cup already). Bento should have stayed in South Korea since Koreans still loved him, but by opting the UAE job, he reversed all of his achievements with Korea and increasingly exposed him as an incompetent manager.

As a Chinese football fan, I’m still pessimistic about the future of China’s national football team. The victory (narrowly escaped from a possible draw) did prove that our players could convert the opponent’s mistakes into actual goals but that’s all. There’s room for improvement in the players’ stamina and we still make terrible, unnecessary mistakes, both offensive and defensive, on the field, which is unacceptable. The day Chinese football rises is the day we overturn our football association and put more emphasis in our youth system. However, it’s nice to see we’re going to have a young, energetic and talented goalkeeper in the future. Goalkeeping has played an important role in our national football team and the new goalkeeper is the only thing that comforts me a bit.
All our opponents in this group played pretty well including UAE. There’s still a long way to go if China wants to catch up with strong teams in Asia.
