You're like the only TH-camr who has made this kind of video that didn't get super carried away with the "don't" side so that it still looks like something people actually do. Thanks for dialing down the extra in this situation, lol.
girl yes. I said the exact same thing about the thumbnail to my man. I was like holy shit this girl looks like rasheeda! Gat Damnnnn! Both y'all stunning.😣😩😩 He, of course, ain't really give two fucks. He D I D however, give me the classic, "Nod of Agreeance," just to suffice. 🙄😇 He's SoOoOoOoooooooo good to me. 😙😍🤗 HASHTAG BLESSED. Lol.
After watching various videos made by professional MUA's, the look on the "do" side mirrors those styles more than the "don't " side. Proper blending is everything.
Thank you for making a realistic "don't" side, I guess most beauty gurus don't know that we know better than just slapping black eyeshadow all over our eyelids
You have a great speaking voice and you are beautiful even with the "don't" side. Also I love how accepting you are of people different opinions. It's refreshing to see a classy lady on here spreading the good word!
Well..one side is drag queen makeup...the other is more of a professional glam look...there"s really no wrong way...it just depends on where you are wearing the look
I will say, I've never seen a TH-camr attempt a DO and DON'T video this well. Every other person I've seen just purposefully makes the DON'T side so drastic and unbelievable so as to make the DO side look even better. This was so believable, and I actually clicked bc I know a person that does their makeup like that and the resemblance was uncanny. There were such subtle differences between the two and I really appreciate that bc those are actually really common mistakes that make a world of difference in makeup.
I love how you actually put effort in with your technique on BOTH sides. Most of these videos I've seen jut 'slop it on' on the don't side and make ridiculous product choices. These don'ts are more realistic more commonly made. Thank you!
I have really thin lips for a black girl, so I tend to over line my top lip a lot. I love the ombré look too. But I blend my lip liner correctly. I'm so glad you mentioned using a golden tone loose powder. For WOC translucent powder just makes me look like I'm been hitting the crack pipe. Keep it warm ladies. We are already kissed by the sun.
This was SOOOO ON POINT!!! I've watched it several times. Thank you for taking the time to explain in detail make up tweaks that can make you look so professional looking vs looking like a drag or just too made up!
Kristin Harris the sad thing is I was told by someone at Mac that's how I should try to make it look. Luckily I've never cared for blush so I don't use it
I rate this tutorial recommended highly...very well instructed and precise from beginning to the end. She talks during her demonstration just enough to follow step by step easy. Most tutorials talk too much and demonstrate a lot less making it somewhat difficult to follow. I enjoyed watching in detail and look forward to seeing more in the future. Keep up the good word!
The bad side wasn't even that horrible you're that talented that it's hard for you to do absolutely horrific makeup I love both sides just cuz you did them!😍❤️
Can you please make a video for women like me who only want to wear eye/eye brow make up and lip makeup? In other words I'm not a big fan over contouring and high lighting. Can I just get away with primer, foundation?
Tamarsha Williams it's your face. You can do whatever pleases you girly. Your face naturally has lighter and darker areas. When you use foundation, you make your face all one color. The highlight and contour is added to recreate the natural lights and darks of your face. You don't have to contour with the intentions of faking a thinner more elongated nose or a tighter jaw. You can do a natural contour.
She did a "no makeup" makeup look, as well as a "10 minute" makeup look. I think both will give you an idea of what you're wanting to accomplish! 😘😘 I rock a "no makeup" look daily, and only add the extras when I'm feeling fancy! 😂😂
WOLFY WOILF I tried them then went back to my old ways. Its so hard to break away. But I have been using foundation that's on the darker side for better blending
Ellarie, I know this tutorial was put out in 17' but, its still so relevant!! Thank you sweetie! Youre gorgeous! Your makeup choices and technique is gorgeous. I am ordering your Colourpop line because it's dope and so are you!!!
Girl you helped me for sure! I struggle with my skin tone during seasons. But all in all I am a brown skin tone. Being someone who's finally embracing this art you have DiD the best dos and don'ts. Me personally stayed away just for my skin. Watching this video inspired me to feel more comfortable/confident .
That’s what I was going to say.... I was watching and hearing “I actually see people doing this!” And I’m thinking, you actually see people......with pretty makeup? Lol I mean the Do side looks much more professional for sure; but the dont side is still better than most people do their makeup. I’ve seen much much much much MUCH worse haha
I think less than 1% of the population has skin as flawless as yours. No matter how expertly the makeup goes on, it can never compete with perfect skin.
Hey lovely, thank you for these fab tips, I can see where I am going wrong for sure, I am definitely going to try and rectify my own mistakes! I especially love how you made the brows look so natural rather than block looking! I have Certainly taken all of the these tips on board!! You look so Beautiful with or without makeup lots of love 💓 x
Every single time I try to do that flick technique at the front of the brow I go way to dark ruin everything and cry for like an hour bc of all the time I spent on sculpting them. Make up is a pain in the ass real talk.. But it's soo pretty 3:
+Samantha Derrick let me clarify I didn't use any subject pronouns in my statement...therefore i didn't say SHE is a drag queen..and I know very well she isn't one. What I simply stated is the Don't side makes me think of what I see drag queens do on RuPauls show...which like the Do side also takes skill and practice and patience to perfect. What she accomplished on BOTH sides of her face is quite stunning..not once did insult her or her craft. Maybe I should have remained mute if I knew I was going to be ripped a new one...
Nobody said she was a drag queen 😐 the statement and my response in regards to seeing tgat at drag shows and with queens this is baisically what the makeup looks like to us 😒 it's not being rude when something reminds of something else. Didn't even say it looked bad either.
Okay maybe it's me but the Don't side looked nice on her. It looked like one side was for daytime wear and the other was nighttime wear. Like she said it's preference and some people make it work.
What I noticed is the Don’t side is much harsher (lighter concealer, boxier brows, darker contour, tons of highlight and blush, less blended). I do notice a lot of instagrammers do some of these (esp the light foundation and concealer!)
This was great! I currently use a pencil to do my brows but they still don’t look quite right to me. Seeing you use the cream gel seems like a better option for me. I love how the “dont” side wasn’t blatantly absurd but it had those small subtle mistakes that make a big difference overall. Thanks sis!
You know you’re a beast when you can make the DONT side look at least halfway good. I still love the lips on the DONT side but I’m definitely going to practice all the tips on the DO side ❤️
FINALLY! A more realistic do's and don't video. I have been searching for this! I watched from top to end. Didn't even notice 25mins went by. I seen some mistakes that I can fix. I'm super excited. New subbie 😁
Absolute best brow tutorial!! Just starting to experiment with the new make up trends and some of the tutorials are like, "WTH!!" The clown like brows, shadow that's not blended, and those too thick for anybody lashes, look like two caterpillars on their faces. This method makes the brows look more natural. Thanks girl!!
Sandy Patrice they gave me NC45 to lol but luckily I always do a darker powder no matter what foundation I get.... these people really don't care for matching your skin tone.
Sandy Patrice they probably didn't request it, the mac workers probably matched them to it. Lol, they suck at that. They get a lot of WOC makeup wrong light and dark.
This is the first video I've seen of you and I just want to say you are SO PRETTY. Especially without makeup! Dope personality too. Great tutorial girl I learned a bunch! Good lookin out 😉
Girl!! My favorite Sephora has a girl who has a thick stripe of contour on her cheeks. UNBLENDED! I'm like,"Oh, your eye makeup is gorgeous." As I try not to stare.
After using your tutorial I looked up in the mirror and I started crying because I looked so naturally beautiful. Thank you. ( + I didn't use a lot of or expensive make up, you make me saving allot of money too) Love you Ellarie
I do have a fairer skin tone and I think your video still has helped me understand where I have gone wrong for so long without ever knowing it. Thank you so much for this video.
I do so appreciate how you handled this. Such a classy lady. I feel like a lot of people get the foundation wrong because of the undertone. On camera, (it was probably worse in person,) the foundation didn't look way to light although it clearly was for someone who knows better. But for someone who might perhaps have more of a golden or yellow undertone as opposed to a nice carmel undertone like you beautiful, I can see how many get that wrong. They pick up a foundation and it appears red so they go for a lighter one instead of a different undertone. Big mistake!!!! You don't have to look like an oompa loompa but you don't wanna look like Casper neither. This was a great illustration because when you add that highlight on top of that light foundation....Oh no baby what is you doing! Casper is glowing! That side looking like Tammy Faye Bakker!😂😂😂😂😂😂 Love you girl! ❤👄
I love this tutorial. You had me dying in the beginning. The eyebrow tutorial is awesome. I ended up losing a lot of eyebrows due to over waxing, plucking, you name it! But, now I've been using castor oil and they have been growing back slowly. I will try this technique tomorrow. By the way, your skin is amazing and you look stunning with or without makeup!!!
I learned a lot. Applying the eyeshadow and taking time to blend is where I could improve. I tend to do ONE shade of a natural shade matte on a daily basis just to give my eyes some color. Not sure if I can do much more on a daily basis because I'm usually in a rush in the mornings... but definitely for a night out, I will review this video as a guide!! THANK YOU LOVE!!
You're a lovely girl and although you look amazing after your application of the makeup, you really don't need that much at all. You have natural beauty which is priceless.
You have absolutely GORGEOUS skin. This is the first time I've seen any of your videos but I'm definitely subscribing. Can't wait to see some of your other videos. 💜
The makeup tips are very useful, tfs, but girlllll let's talk about that bare skin hunni!! Your skin is absolutely flawless. We need a skin routine from you hun.
This was the most helpful video I have ever seen! Like you literally walked through everything in such an understandable way. I’ve only been wearing makeup for 2 months and it’s been sooooo difficult to properly replicate my look. I didn’t realize how many donts I have been doing! Thank you so much for this video, I watched this right on time because my bday is in two weeks and I thought I’d be looking CRAZY
Ms Wisha 5 Try holding a business card underneath your lashes while applying and move it as you need to. I use this method with the Better Than Sex mascara because the wand is so big for that area but I love it so much!
You’re funny af. I was smiling and laughing the entire video. I appreciate your kindness in sharing the differences between the two and you not harshing on people that may like the “don’t”. Thank you for this video(:
I really enjoyed this! I tried translucent powder once and the cast in pics - wasn’t what I wanted. I need that darker powder step to bring back some warmth.
This video was so informative! I do most of the stuff on the Do’s but some things you mentioned will probably help my make up look better so thank you !
Ellarie girl I have to admit some days I'm that girl with the do's and some days I'm the girl with the don'ts it all depends on how much effort I put in lol but this video was well needed I have learn some great tips watching all your tortials thanks for sharing beautiful ohh and tell yoshi doll I said hey girl lol
Girl you are a trip! I am. 43 year old exhausted mama ~ combined with the fact that I was raised by a single father ... I gots no time or even understanding of makeup lol. But your video came up on an auto play after other videos ... and I had fun watching yours. You are adorns and hilarious. When you accidentally knocked your shit over and later said “ain’t nuthin fair about my skin tone” ... it’s like we are twins! 😝 Plus ~ even tho I am no makeup pro (or even novice actually lol) ~ the makeup blunders I see out and about (especially at Walmart 😝) always make me think like .... “whaaaaaaaat?!” 😉 Great vid! Makes me wanna try it all out! Keep up the good work and stay beautiful! ♥️
Girl you are a beautiful woman of color. As you can see I'm as light as they come. I have a biracial grand daughter that Is only a couple of yrs away from using make up so it's nice to see that you are doing a video that I can learn from before she starts to wear it, because I would probably spend a ton on makeup trying to get it right for her. thanks so much!
You're like the only TH-camr who has made this kind of video that didn't get super carried away with the "don't" side so that it still looks like something people actually do. Thanks for dialing down the extra in this situation, lol.
Evelyn Fajardo yeah, I agree
It was ACTUALLY helpful
Evelyn Fajardo Yes! As a beginner, it's hard to really learn from these whem they're sooo extreme.
Evelyn Fajardo I agreee !
Damn I wish my make up would look like the "dont" side!! I'd b good!
Evelyn Fajardo I agree
*do side* _"what I think I look like"_
*dont side* _"What I actually look like"_
haha, right? Same.
Don't worry Bout it woo hit it

He, of course, ain't really give two fucks. He D I D however, give me the classic, "Nod of Agreeance," just to suffice. 🙄😇
He's SoOoOoOoooooooo good to me. 😙😍🤗
HASHTAG BLESSED. Lol.
After watching various videos made by professional MUA's, the look on the "do" side mirrors those styles more than the "don't " side. Proper blending is everything.

Right I like the don't
That's what I was saying the bad side she made it look good too 😂
Thank you for making a realistic "don't" side, I guess most beauty gurus don't know that we know better than just slapping black eyeshadow all over our eyelids
Omg little tweaks really does make a difference! It was small things you changed on each side and you can tell what you did different. Love this!
Let’s gather here and cry if the “don’t “ side is how your make up looks 😫😫
Doctor Doctor 🙋🏽♀️
I am here Doctor Doctor 🙋♀️😭
🥴🥴😓🤦🏾♀️
Both sides look good to me tbh but I prefer a more natural look
😢
You have a great speaking voice and you are beautiful even with the "don't" side. Also I love how accepting you are of people different opinions. It's refreshing to see a classy lady on here spreading the good word!
Well..one side is drag queen makeup...the other is more of a professional glam look...there"s really no wrong way...it just depends on where you are wearing the look
You resemble rasheeda from love and hip hop
Omar exactly what I came here to say. Beautiful women.
I was about to write that lol
She looks just like her
Yesssss, I was thinking the same thing .
Omar IKR
Idk if you look like Rasheeda or Janelle Monae. Either way, you're gorgeous
Kianna Banks this is exactly what I thought. Those exact two people blended perfectly.
See the whole time I was watching the video I thought she looked like Janelle.
She does look like both of them but more like Rasheeda to me
Rasheeda for me
she looks like Rasheeda
Dang she made it seem so easy, wait til I try it out, I’m still going to end up in the “don’ts”
Me too
Gorgeous! I loved how much you focused on using makeup to your most natural/enhancing advantage on the DO side, tips for every woman. ❤
I would actually rock either side minus the harsh contour on that cheek! Yessssss
Omfg I'm embarrassed she did the bad eyebrow exactly how I do mine to the T 😫🤦🏽♀️☹️
PuzzleKnots lmao
Exactly!!!
Lmaoo
PuzzleKnots 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Same lol
I'm that "don't girl" at Walmart 😩

But the DONT side looks good to me! LOL
BEAUTY with JEUNIE B me too!
BEAUTY with JEUNIE B It looks good to me three. i dont see anything wrong wit it..not every one can pull it off (far as the blush part)
S1MNICITY girl I like her don't side better it's popping the other side a lil dull!!!
I will say, I've never seen a TH-camr attempt a DO and DON'T video this well. OKAY! Im like SIS the DONT side looks GREAT!
Danielle Curtis For real huh? Both look good to me!👌🏽
Girl am here wishing my makeup was as good as the don't side!
This was SOOOO ON POINT!!! I've watched it several times. Thank you for taking the time to explain in detail make up tweaks that can make you look so professional looking vs looking like a drag or just too made up!
I love that you did common mistakes that keep you from looking great, as opposed to dramatic ones everyone already knows to avoid.
Your cheek on the "don't" side looks like a tub of Neapolitan ice cream! 😂😂 I've seen this on people though! #struggle #atleastshetried 😂😂😂
spot on lol
My first thoughts too!!!! LMBO! I just decided to read the comments to see if anyone agreed with me...lol
Kristin Harris the sad thing is I was told by someone at Mac that's how I should try to make it look. Luckily I've never cared for blush so I don't use it
Omg I just saw this I said the same thing 😬😩
My Name Is Meikosh ndgbhthtuthfhffhhfgghghghufjfjfjfjjffjjf

PLEASE DO A SKIN CARE VIDEO! Your Natural bare face is AMAZING!
Imani Kimble right🙌🙌🙌😩
It really does
I’m so distracted by this beautiful brow on the good side! It’s so good! I love a good natural brow!

You can do a natural contour.
cellyjohnson thank you I probably just buy a tint moisturizer and primer
She did a "no makeup" makeup look, as well as a "10 minute" makeup look. I think both will give you an idea of what you're wanting to accomplish! 😘😘 I rock a "no makeup" look daily, and only add the extras when I'm feeling fancy! 😂😂
Tamarsha Williams SAME
Tamarsha Williams, I don't like the highlights and contoured either lol
Omg I am guilty of so many things you pointed out on here that I am going to do my makeup with your tips as soon as I'm done watching this 😂😂😂😂
Shirley Wangari stopping my highlight not taken it on to my nose im guilty of that 😂🤦🏽♀️ tomorrow imma try her tips
my fellow Kenyan, wassup!
I use the lighter shades and am really bad at bending. I'm the don't side. But hopefully with these tips I'll improve
Victoria Nyawira Gitau mzuri tena sana 💪😀💪😀💪😀

You look like a mix between Janet Jackson (Don’t Side) and Rasheeda from love and hip hop (Do Side) 😂
i was thinking the same lol!!
I thought soooo too
Was thinking the same about Rasheeda
I thought she WAS Rasheeda! Lol!
Definitely Rasheeda!!

The "Don't" makes me think of a drag 👸
ryan tabb omg same here!!! my initial thought when I saw this.
yeah "don't" so "thats homophobic"- james charles XD
+R Ree just to clarify you aren't making an assumption that either myself or the other commentator is homophobic are you? Based on the quote...

I'm guilty of a lot of things on the don't side 😰😂😂 I'm out here looking like Ursula thinking I'm beat 😂😂😂😂
Laniiyah Scott The struggle is real hunny!!! 😂😂

Lol
jazzie5150 u not alone sweetie
too funny! i always put that light concealer under my eyebrows lol its all good until someone takes a pic of you with the FLASH ON!! yikes!! lol
Thank you for the tutorial sis, I learned the correct way to apply make-up! Great for beginners ☺
The don't side is like all of the WOC who go into MAC requesting NC45 when they are clearly darker than NC50 lol.
Sandy Patrice they gave me NC45 to lol but luckily I always do a darker powder no matter what foundation I get.... these people really don't care for matching your skin tone.
Sandy Patrice this is so true it's scary!
Sandy Patrice they probably didn't request it, the mac workers probably matched them to it. Lol, they suck at that. They get a lot of WOC makeup wrong light and dark.
so then how are you gonna figure out ur shade at mac? i think samples oxidize idk.
ROTFLOL... I am a NC45
This is the first video I've seen of you and I just want to say you are SO PRETTY. Especially without makeup! Dope personality too. Great tutorial girl I learned a bunch! Good lookin out 😉
Music And Beauty TV orthodox love

Baekage some people like it like that
You pay attention to detail and it shows in your overall put-together appearance. Very helpful tutorial!
After using your tutorial I looked up in the mirror and I started crying because I looked so naturally beautiful. Thank you. ( + I didn't use a lot of or expensive make up, you make me saving allot of money too) Love you Ellarie
I finally found a TH-camr I can relate to. I’m so happy.
I always have a problem with the brows; great job with the 'DO'👍🏾👍🏾🤓🤓
You are actually gorgeous 😘😘😘 both sides are phenomenal
I agree
I love both sides
Even tho she tryna make the don't look bad it still looks good
Girl you out here saving lives one tutorial at a time
I do have a fairer skin tone and I think your video still has helped me understand where I have gone wrong for so long without ever knowing it. Thank you so much for this video.
Thanks for those tips. This video is VERY helpful.

Lord, I'm so glad I found this cause I do some of the things from the "don't" side and I could never figure out what I was doing wrong.
"Who wants to talk? You? You?" 😂😂
Not slating your slayer skills (on point and I learned a lot btw) but OMGOSH Ellarie, you look absolutely beautiful without ANY makeup! 😊
I thought the same!!
Same! And she looks 12.
ELLARIE, YOU'VE INSPIRED ME MAKE UP MY FACE!! I USED TO WEAR MAKE UP IN THE EARLY 80S, BUT STOPPED!!
GORGEOUS skin.... Au natural with no makeup....
I wonder how many times Ellarie is told she looks like Rasheeda.
Arlene Davis with make up on without it she doesn’t
Arlene Davis she does favor Rasheeda.
Beautiful_N Flawless she looks like her both ways 😂😂
The makeup tips are very useful, tfs, but girlllll let's talk about that bare skin hunni!! Your skin is absolutely flawless. We need a skin routine from you hun.
This was the most helpful video I have ever seen! Like you literally walked through everything in such an understandable way. I’ve only been wearing makeup for 2 months and it’s been sooooo difficult to properly replicate my look. I didn’t realize how many donts I have been doing! Thank you so much for this video, I watched this right on time because my bday is in two weeks and I thought I’d be looking CRAZY
I like both
Latisha Mitchell same here ^__^
I thought the don't side was actually really pretty😂lol
I like that side too, especially the eye brow
me too lol *shrugs*
Me too I like the don’t side better
Danny devito me too
Yes like it doesn't look that bad .
I dont know why but some how im always the girl who f's up my mascara on my lower lashes. 😞
Ms Wisha 5 same 🙁
Ms Wisha 5 Try holding a business card underneath your lashes while applying and move it as you need to. I use this method with the Better Than Sex mascara because the wand is so big for that area but I love it so much!
Sounds like a good idea. I'll try that! Thank you.
Ms Wisha 5 I'm that chick TOOOO!!!!!
Ms Wisha 5 me too! 😔
This is the first video that actually explains the techniques in depth , i love it 😭😭❤️
You’re funny af. I was smiling and laughing the entire video. I appreciate your kindness in sharing the differences between the two and you not harshing on people that may like the “don’t”. Thank you for this video(:
You actually look great both
I was just thinking the same! haha
bulelani Mali Yea I just said I like the dont side.
bulelani Mali i agree with u
bulelani Mali the dont side doesnt look horrible but it definitely doesn't look that great
Well i definitely been doing my makeup wrong. I'm so glad i watched this video. Thank u for making it ☺
This is like expectation vs Reallity 😂😂
I really enjoyed this! I tried translucent powder once and the cast in pics - wasn’t what I wanted. I need that darker powder step to bring back some warmth.
I feel like I learned how to do makeup watching your video compared to other videos I watched. Thank you!
❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏾 I love this video . I picked up a few tips . Thank you !!
Who else thought the don't side is not bad at all
Haylie Batiste 4
5
Its not bad...its horrible.
r u blind
I do
when u can't even do the don'ts 😫😂
I loved this video, I really think it’s a matter of how much time you have when you blend, you made both sides look good
This video was so informative! I do most of the stuff on the Do’s but some things you mentioned will probably help my make up look better so thank you !
I watched the whole vid...I never do that. Love your tuorial. I learned a lot!
Plus ~ even tho I am no makeup pro (or even novice actually lol) ~ the makeup blunders I see out and about (especially at Walmart 😝) always make me think like .... “whaaaaaaaat?!”
😉
Great vid! Makes me wanna try it all out! Keep up the good work and stay beautiful! ♥️
I'm guilty of the overdone eyebrow thing. This video was VERY helpful. Thank you so much ma'am.
This video was very helpful. there are some things I'm not doing right
