Yup, even though had gigantic enormous amounts of respect for Shanks as a kid, and saw Shanks as the ultimate role model to aspire to be more like, that amazing father like figure. He still would know deep down he has to surpass Shanks and stand on his own two feet, be his own man so wouldn't want to be under his crew as he grew up. Luffys whole style of fighting is infact inspired by snipery. Yes, he fights hand to hand, but because of his rubber abilities he literally shoots his fists at people. He says in the first chapter that his lunch is as powerful as a gun. He names most of his attacks after guns. So if anything he would have taken influence from Ben Beckman and yasopp and still become a sniper fist.
A fun theory of mine on why Shanks didn't want Luffy to join his crew was that he didn't want Garp on his ass trying to get his grandson back. Shanks wouldn't have the power or influence of a Yonko he has now back then.
Along with the fact that after Luffy ate the devil fruit, shanks had past experience with buggy that devil fruit consumers can get very sick upon going to laugh tale, or getting close to the “One Piece”

There are some cool things to learn about Shanks and his ideology in the future knowing those facts. Or maybe its as simple as not wanting heat from Garp, if he knew at the time Luffy was Garp's grandkid. Regardless, Shanks not just trying to take down Teach at marineford, parlaying with the Gorosei, knowing about the Nika fruit and going after it, being so focused on the new generation and then betting an arm on it... I'm so excited to actually learn what his deal is

Actually the Vinsomke only found out about Sanji because he became a famous pirate, so Sanji would still be around and Robin would have a good chance too if she keeps avoiding the World Gov, chopper and brook would should still be there but the most to least likely to not be able to join, would be Zoro then Nami or Jinbe depending on if he has a crew or not as well as if someone like ace with a connection to white Beard is captured or not and if luffy can convince Jinbe. I can see how they would come for Nami, like Luffy accidentally decimated their food supply so they dropped by Cocoyashi village and they see Arlong about to kill Belamere, Shanks and his crew saves them, Nami becomes childhood friends with Luffy and Usopp, even though Bellamere doesn't like it being a marine and all, she wants Nami to achieve her dream, she begrudgingly ask Shanks and his crew to take Nami with them, after seeing Nami skills they agree, I can see how Chopper, Robin, and Brook joining Shanks his crew because of Luffy pulling a Oden, and exploring the land there in without the red hair Pirates permission.
The fact mihawk and shanks use to have equal fights is amazing and even white beard said it is impressive, and shows how great a pirate and swordsman mihawk really is.

The live action series gave us another potential reason why Shanks didn't let Luffy join. Like in the manga, Luffy stabbed himself beneath his eye to show how tough he was. In the manga, the pirates simply thought he was crazy, and it didn't affect the story at all. But in the live action, Shanks tells Luffy off, claiming a real pirate earns his scars in battle, and Luffy didn't earn his, since it was self- inflicted. I thought it was a nice detail, and brings more depth to Shanks' character early on.
Heyo! Can you make a potential theory on a human eating choppers fruit and how it'd be terrifying? Oda himself says it'd be a gag but not being able to swim without the durability buffs and other stat increases a zoan user gets is mad sus. That and paired with humans in a sense being animals doing the worst actions nature has potentially seen could make somhthing interesting. A awakened zoan could potentially bring a monster out of the users subconscious creating a beat or hybrid form from the depths of nightmares, or maybe not.
I think there is a case to be made for Sanji here since there is a chance that Shanks would get invited to the wedding. There Luffy meets Sanji and decides to save him and Sanji joins the crew or just leaves wherever.
I like the premise of these “what if” videos, even though I don’t think any of these outcomes would happen. I just happen to currently be watching the Sabo, Ace and Luffy flashback after Marineford and Ace would most certainly have died because he stole from Bluejam. Vivi, Robin, Ussop, Zoro all would have died. Brook and Sanji I think would still have been in the same place. Luffy was their catalyst to do something different. Keep making these videos though! They show how vital everyone in the story is. Change one character and the story is completely different

Suggestion for a video: Xebec is Luffy's real grandfather, which is why Dragon's looks remind us of Xebec, and not Garp's. Dragon was adopted by Garp just like Ace was, making Garp have strong bonds with the world's strongest pirate, the pirate king, and him being the marine's hero would be fun to read.

Garp will hunt Shanks just to bring back his grandson to the Goa Kingdom. 3. The Tot Musica situation would've been handled differently as Luffy would've convinced Shanks to keep Uta with them. 4. Luffy grows up to become a powerful member of the Red-Haired Pirates and learns all three Haki sooner because the Red-Haired Pirates become a Yonko crew. 5. Luffy never met Ace or Sabo. 6. The Straw Hats were never formed and Luffy doesn't save the towns and locations he visited in the One Piece story.

I think that if luffy smuggled Yamato away that would pretty immediately start a clash with Kaido after the war of the best, which would be a super interesting thing. If luffy is awakened, they have Yamato, and Rayleigh also joins up I really can’t see Shanks losing that fight, so the red scabbards and mom would probably show up to a Wano that’s already been liberated by the red hair pirates, OR the country might change hands since winning against kaido is one thing, but holding the territory while big mom and Blackbeard are looking to move in would be a different story, and after a huge clash with kaido idk if the red hair pirates would be able to defend the country or if they’d have to retreat, give it up to a DIFFERENT tyrant while they go back to lick their wounds
It Would be an awesome twist of events if the characters as we know them would be born in the new world/grand line and their story be more tragic. But, for this to work, Shanks would need to tell luffy about Laugh Tale and The one piece when he iss 16/17, and tell him that he needs to reach that Island by creating his own pirate crew, which will be interesting because in this world, the straw hats would be stronger than in the original timeline. Their storys could be the same, but, the tragic events of their past would have to change a little bit. In this world, where they HAVE to be a little stronger, i can't see Kuina dying from stairs, she could die from pirates that came to the island and try to raid the village, and zoro would still become a bounty hunter, now to revenge her death. He could still get caught by the marines for hitting Helmeppo and promised to be free is he can stay without food 30 days, and luffy(waaay stronger) would help him and show him that not all pirates are bad, and with his dream to become the worlds strongest swordsman he would join. Although Usopp will be the first straw hat in this timeline, i think it would be the same as in shanks case where although the sniper was the first crewmember, the right handman would be the second to join the crew. All the crewmembers would join in the same order, but, with a twist in their backstory that can match the worlds power level, because in this timeline, the enemys are more stronger since he starts in the grandline. He could start the same, in East blue so he can go to Logue Town and see where Roger was executed, but again, the enemys would have to be stronger, imagine Buggy being Stronger and the first enemy to beat Luffy in their first fight instead of Crocodile. The biggest plot twist would and best in my opinion would be that, after Wano, if BlackBeard kills Garp and Shanks, his desire to fight would be bigger than ever, because now, he doesen't kill only Garp, his blood family, but also the family that raised him, the red hair pirates, his father figures, Ben, Shanks, Yasopp, everyone. After he finds the One piece, he will most likely go and get revenge on Black Beard and thus, becoming the true King of the pirates, ruler of all the seas, and then, the only think and remains is to destroy the Goverment and Imu-sama, thus bringing the Dawn of the world. PS: the Marineford war would still happen, but, instead of saving his brother, he would save his enemy/best friend, kinda how Roger/WhiteBeard were, enemys, but also best friends.
I just realized something here you forgot about Uta in the new shanks movie it showed that even thou in the normal anime Uta wasn’t a thing yet she was apart of shanks crew which backs up your first reason about being to young. But uta left the crew after knowing luffy for awhile so luffy would have gotten to meet her in this story
I don't think marineford would have ended the way you described. Without question the Gorosei, after seeing Luffy's gear 5, would have not allowed him to leave the place. Even if it meant having to go to war with Shanks. I think they would have been like "Do not let Luffy leave this place alive by all means". Most likely Imu would have done something as well, maybe not a full appearance but he would have definitely done something.
I like this what if, but I don't think that Luffy could awaken his devil fruit without going through everything he went through. Kaido mentioned that you have to understand/sync with your devil fruit to awaken it. The Nika fruit is about setting people free, Luffy's original journey ended up setting a hella lot of people free. Individually and en masses.

I like this scenario and would definitely like to see a scenario with Luffy starting his own crew after being a part of Shanks crew. I'm glad to see another what if scenario and I'm excited to see your take on more what if scenarios if you ever decide to make another.
I just think it's funny that Shanks has the fastest person, he is one of the best haki users, and has one of the smartest people in his crew

The only problem with this head cannon is that Luffy is not the captain, so he can't just keep inviting people to join the Red Haired Pirates.
If Yasopp's Observation Haki abilities are as powerful as people seem to think that they are, is it possible he knew his son and Syrup Village would be safe with Luffy and Zoro there? If Luffy and Zoro are not there, who's to say he wouldn't come running to save them?

The live action series gave us another potential reason why Shanks didn't let Luffy join. Like in the manga, Luffy stabbed himself beneath his eye to show how tough he was. In the manga, the pirates simply thought he was crazy, and it didn't affect the story at all. But in the live action, Shanks tells Luffy off, claiming a real pirate earns his scars in battle, and Luffy didn't earn his, since it was self- inflicted.
I thought it was a nice detail, and brings more depth to Shanks' character early on.
Heyo! Can you make a potential theory on a human eating choppers fruit and how it'd be terrifying? Oda himself says it'd be a gag but not being able to swim without the durability buffs and other stat increases a zoan user gets is mad sus.
That and paired with humans in a sense being animals doing the worst actions nature has potentially seen could make somhthing interesting. A awakened zoan could potentially bring a monster out of the users subconscious creating a beat or hybrid form from the depths of nightmares, or maybe not.

I think there is a case to be made for Sanji here since there is a chance that Shanks would get invited to the wedding. There Luffy meets Sanji and decides to save him and Sanji joins the crew or just leaves wherever.

I like the premise of these “what if” videos, even though I don’t think any of these outcomes would happen. I just happen to currently be watching the Sabo, Ace and Luffy flashback after Marineford and Ace would most certainly have died because he stole from Bluejam. Vivi, Robin, Ussop, Zoro all would have died.
Brook and Sanji I think would still have been in the same place. Luffy was their catalyst to do something different.
Keep making these videos though! They show how vital everyone in the story is. Change one character and the story is completely different

Xebec is Luffy's real grandfather, which is why Dragon's looks remind us of Xebec, and not Garp's.
Dragon was adopted by Garp just like Ace was, making Garp have strong bonds with the world's strongest pirate, the pirate king, and him being the marine's hero would be fun to read.
I think Garp is Luffy’s Mother’s father, since he never really said about Dragon being his son. He just referred to him as Dragon or Luffy’s father.

What if Luffy joined Shanks Crew
1. Luffy and Uta becomes the apprentices of Shanks' crew (similar to Shanks and Buggy when they were Roger Pirates).
2. Garp will hunt Shanks just to bring back his grandson to the Goa Kingdom.
3. The Tot Musica situation would've been handled differently as Luffy would've convinced Shanks to keep Uta with them.
4. Luffy grows up to become a powerful member of the Red-Haired Pirates and learns all three Haki sooner because the Red-Haired Pirates become a Yonko crew.
5. Luffy never met Ace or Sabo.
6. The Straw Hats were never formed and Luffy doesn't save the towns and locations he visited in the One Piece story.
18:13 i disagree with this tiny part because if were not for Luffy's conqueror's haki than Ace's head would be detached by the executioners in the normal timeline, but since Luffy is late in this timeline than Ace died from the two blades.
I really hope to see a full scale shanks vs mihawk before the story ends.

I think that if luffy smuggled Yamato away that would pretty immediately start a clash with Kaido after the war of the best, which would be a super interesting thing. If luffy is awakened, they have Yamato, and Rayleigh also joins up I really can’t see Shanks losing that fight, so the red scabbards and mom would probably show up to a Wano that’s already been liberated by the red hair pirates, OR the country might change hands since winning against kaido is one thing, but holding the territory while big mom and Blackbeard are looking to move in would be a different story, and after a huge clash with kaido idk if the red hair pirates would be able to defend the country or if they’d have to retreat, give it up to a DIFFERENT tyrant while they go back to lick their wounds

It Would be an awesome twist of events if the characters as we know them would be born in the new world/grand line and their story be more tragic. But, for this to work, Shanks would need to tell luffy about Laugh Tale and The one piece when he iss 16/17, and tell him that he needs to reach that Island by creating his own pirate crew, which will be interesting because in this world, the straw hats would be stronger than in the original timeline. Their storys could be the same, but, the tragic events of their past would have to change a little bit. In this world, where they HAVE to be a little stronger, i can't see Kuina dying from stairs, she could die from pirates that came to the island and try to raid the village, and zoro would still become a bounty hunter, now to revenge her death. He could still get caught by the marines for hitting Helmeppo and promised to be free is he can stay without food 30 days, and luffy(waaay stronger) would help him and show him that not all pirates are bad, and with his dream to become the worlds strongest swordsman he would join. Although Usopp will be the first straw hat in this timeline, i think it would be the same as in shanks case where although the sniper was the first crewmember, the right handman would be the second to join the crew. All the crewmembers would join in the same order, but, with a twist in their backstory that can match the worlds power level, because in this timeline, the enemys are more stronger since he starts in the grandline. He could start the same, in East blue so he can go to Logue Town and see where Roger was executed, but again, the enemys would have to be stronger, imagine Buggy being Stronger and the first enemy to beat Luffy in their first fight instead of Crocodile. The biggest plot twist would and best in my opinion would be that, after Wano, if BlackBeard kills Garp and Shanks, his desire to fight would be bigger than ever, because now, he doesen't kill only Garp, his blood family, but also the family that raised him, the red hair pirates, his father figures, Ben, Shanks, Yasopp, everyone. After he finds the One piece, he will most likely go and get revenge on Black Beard and thus, becoming the true King of the pirates, ruler of all the seas, and then, the only think and remains is to destroy the Goverment and Imu-sama, thus bringing the Dawn of the world.
PS: the Marineford war would still happen, but, instead of saving his brother, he would save his enemy/best friend, kinda how Roger/WhiteBeard were, enemys, but also best friends.
I just realized something here you forgot about Uta in the new shanks movie it showed that even thou in the normal anime Uta wasn’t a thing yet she was apart of shanks crew which backs up your first reason about being to young. But uta left the crew after knowing luffy for awhile so luffy would have gotten to meet her in this story
I don't think marineford would have ended the way you described. Without question the Gorosei, after seeing Luffy's gear 5, would have not allowed him to leave the place. Even if it meant having to go to war with Shanks. I think they would have been like "Do not let Luffy leave this place alive by all means". Most likely Imu would have done something as well, maybe not a full appearance but he would have definitely done something.

I like this what if, but I don't think that Luffy could awaken his devil fruit without going through everything he went through. Kaido mentioned that you have to understand/sync with your devil fruit to awaken it. The Nika fruit is about setting people free, Luffy's original journey ended up setting a hella lot of people free. Individually and en masses.

I love this idea, but fluffy eats his DF right before he gets kidnapped by the mountain bamdits, so if he joins Shank's crew the first time they meet Fluffy would have never eaten his DF unless something similar to the bar incident happened and Fluffy at it out of frustration.
