Independence Day, Springfield Oregon, 2023

This was my first 4th of July at the Porchia’s family farm in Springfield, Oregon. A very special country life experience.
The day started off with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Mohawk Valley Rural Fire Department at the school located at the top of Sunderman Road, followed by the parade which ended at the Pine Ridge Golf Course.
It seems people then have picnics or lunch in their homes. Then in the afternoon, you can see dozens of people walking to the top of Sunderman Road again to launch their inner tubes and rafts to float down the Mohawk River..
in the evening, there is another barbecue at the school .
