2 songs - Party in My Pants & Vague - from Medusa: Dare To Be Truthful, my Showtime movie! Award-winning Showtime movie, I should have said. You can get the Medusa DVD at juliebrown.com!
She has had a pretty significant career in acting, most notably responsible for "Earth Girls Are Easy". She also has a classic on the Doctor Demento 20th Anniversary collection, "The Homecoming Queen Has Got a Gun".
This is one straight up FOOL I tell ya!! LMAO. What happened to talent like this? What happened to our MTV, VH1, BET? In these crazy times I so miss the 80's and 90's.
I may have watched this a hundred times in the past few years. The backup dancers are on point. This is so perfectly done. I laugh at every word of it. It's genius.
I saw this when it was first telecast, and it's just as entertaining now as it was then. I utter the line "Kelly LeBrock thinks she's great; she's just cold boogers on a paper plate" at least once a day. So, thanks for giving me a response to anything overrated. :)
This brings back great memories, Julie Brown’s music is under appreciated. Her songs are catchy and she is an incredible talent/writer. My teen loves her work, too.
how easy would it be to plug in some of the 'modern' names into this song, although the names still ring as true...now That's Classic. we will Laugh for Ever! thanks Ms Brown for sharing your talent.
Madonna should've brought Medusa on stage during her Celebration Tour when she sang Vogue. Julie Brown could've been the guest judge. What a wasted opportuity.... the fans would've loved it!
@@danielx555at that time maybe, but Madonna was doing really deep stuff and writing great songs when she was doing stuff like Ray of Light in the late 90s
There's a certain line that can be crossed in satire, which, if it's good satire, has got to be crossed. This is brilliant satire. Thank you so much for posting this. There is not a single moment that is not hilarious!
I think it's funny that the people Jules mentions (Pierce Brosnan, Paula Abdul, Wilson Phillips, etc.) as vague now seem incredibly talented compared to the reality stars of today. Can you imagine the celebrities in 20 years? If I look back and think Snooki was talented, I will probably end it all right there and then.
HOWLING !!! Absolutely Howling With Laughter!!! because I can sing along to every word, Life can be so strange, when you're all alone, if they're stars then You Can Do It. Vague. I"ll be your virgin queen, bring your body down, I know more tricks than a rodeo clown, no need to pay this boinks on me....
The only name mentioned that was actually popular at the time was Paula Abdul. She was on her second album ("Spellbound"), which went triple platinum and yielded two number one hits. The others were all past-their prime, or never were respected to begin with. Of course there was one who surprisingly rebounded nicely: Pierce Brosnan. At the time he was only known as the guy from Remington Steele., which was really Stephanie Zimblast's show.
Spent years at Lembecks on Saturdays watching this totally whaco kid/girl/dame/woman on stage. Always wanted to have Harvey call me to inprov with Julie crazy Brown. Nuts ...
@GardeniaBreeze YES I DID!!! she used to make fun of video's, and celebrities, on that show. the thing i loved about that show, was that so many people hated it. i guess most people didn't "get" her. i love everything she's done, especially "medusa" and "earth girl's are easy".
She was the female version of Weird Al Yankovic.........I don't know how she didn't become more famous that she was! I loved her!!
She has had a pretty significant career in acting, most notably responsible for "Earth Girls Are Easy". She also has a classic on the Doctor Demento 20th Anniversary collection, "The Homecoming Queen Has Got a Gun".
I ❤loved her too, and she had a great sense of humor.😂She was talented too. 👏
I remember her on Dr Demento. She was the 2nd most known person from the Dr Demento Show after Weird Al
I really loved her!!!
Didn't she have a small arc acting on the "Newhart" series as well?
I always sing "Vague, I'm not thinkin' Nothin" whenever I hear the song Vogue.
This really is very funny even when the jokes are dated .
Julie’s comedy style is so sharp and the punchlines come from all different directions.
I watched this 100 times and still laugh my ass off....Love you, Julie Brown! Thanks for making my teen years awesome!
This is one straight up FOOL I tell ya!! LMAO. What happened to talent like this? What happened to our MTV, VH1, BET? In these crazy times I so miss the 80's and 90's.
Video killed the radio star?
Reality TV killed the video star. 😭😭😭
I think it's time for the Medusa greatest hits tour.
This is priceless! I wish there was a soundtrack to this movie. Julie Brown really had to have dance talent to pull this off!
OMG, She's a female Weird Al! LOVE!
"I'm not thinking nothing" will get me every time! LOL!
Me at work when they ask me what I’m thinking
"steal a car tonight, tell the cops 'it moved.'" LOL!
I may have watched this a hundred times in the past few years. The backup dancers are on point. This is so perfectly done. I laugh at every word of it. It's genius.
one of which is Kathy Griffin...the comedian.
I saw this when it was first telecast, and it's just as entertaining now as it was then. I utter the line "Kelly LeBrock thinks she's great; she's just cold boogers on a paper plate" at least once a day. So, thanks for giving me a response to anything overrated. :)
Julie Brown is a laugh out loud, absolute riot. I loved this & appreciated every single joke in Medusa. I always enjoyed her work 🤙😬👍👌
OMG. When ever I think of Madonna, I think of Julie Brown. Thanks, Julie!
This brings back great memories, Julie Brown’s music is under appreciated. Her songs are catchy and she is an incredible talent/writer. My teen loves her work, too.
"COME ON GET VAGUE! LET YOUR BODY MOVE WITHOUT THINKING!!!"
When I saw Holy Water/Vogue on the Rebel Heart Tour, it made me think of this! lol
WHY DID I NOT NOTICE THAT?!? Madonna literally did this.......... :O lol
You are brilliant! I am a huge Madonna fan, and I remember watching this when it was on Showtime, I laughed my ass off!
I love that Madonna actually ended up using the "Let's get stupid" line
When?
@@polanialmoni6274 Give It 2 Me
@@selmaloveromg you're right😂
Julie Brown was such a comic genius. Medusa dare to be truthful, and Neurotica were the greatest Madonna parodies ever!!!🤣🤣🤣
What is neurotica?
I didnt know that Madonna was this talented.
🤣🤣
Not funny.
@@chrispa9573 The truth is always fun
@@TheArsenalgooner what truth ?

Brilliant then. Brilliant now.
OMG how I lived without knowing this priceless work of art!! Loved it! ❤️🤣🤣🤣🤣 the documentary is also brilliant!!
Takes me back to college days. I did perform the real lipsync in many drag shows and it was always a winner. Too often expected too. But fun!!!! ❤
Thois multitalented diva was awesome in Earth Girls Are Easy.
Wow! Brings back memories.
Oh my god this is so funny! The Vague rap is out of control. How is this not seen by more people? LOL I did.
how easy would it be to plug in some of the 'modern' names into this song, although the names still ring as true...now That's Classic. we will Laugh for Ever! thanks Ms Brown for sharing your talent.
They had the outfits down almost perfectly
Julie is the f#@kin best !!
I remember watching this, and a young Kathy Griffin playing Medusa's back-up dancer/singer and she can dance too! She's very coordinated.
Absolute Brilliance!!
Thank you so much!
Julie Brown the song Vague has to be updated for this current century! It would be like shooting ducks in a barrell.
Haha, one only needs to start with Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian... Why their famous we don't know.
John Hintergardt But Taylor Swift has got to Go
Madonna should've brought Medusa on stage during her Celebration Tour when she sang Vogue. Julie Brown could've been the guest judge. What a wasted opportuity.... the fans would've loved it!
I don't know why but the "I know more tricks than a rodeo clown" with her fingers always gets me.
“..Let’s get stupid....” 😂😂😂
Mrs Weird Al....love it!!!!
a big thank you to whoever authorized the funds for this, bravo.
The lyrics to vague are AWESOME!!!
Vague.... i'm not thinkin' nothin'.... Hahahahahaha!!!!!

Absolutely love this song! Perfect lyrics!
I love this!
JULIE BROWN IS A MUSICAL GENIUS!
I love this movie.
im 46 and remember watching this i LOVED it then and was looking for it today to watch again, I loved JB.
Perfection.
This is more authentic than any of Madonna’s real performances.
It shines a light on the shallowness of Madonna's output.
@@danielx555at that time maybe, but Madonna was doing really deep stuff and writing great songs when she was doing stuff like Ray of Light in the late 90s
A true Genuine genius!
This is the kind of program that made MTV worth watching. Nowadays, it's all reality shows, which has nothing to do with music.
"Paula Abdul's gotta go" LOL hahahah
Kelly Le Brock thinks she's great.
She's just cold boogers on a paper plate.

She want talking about talent. She was talking about how bland and boring they are.
They still are.
Pure genius.
"Dare to be Truthfil!" Sooooo funny! I need to rent it and watch it again. I haven't seen it, literally, in over twenty years!
Much more talented than the original "immaterial girl"
Yup fits in today as it did then. Love
She got a CableACE award nod as executive producer. (The director won!) It was not a theatrical release.
As talented as Madonna is....she really had this coming....
Always doing lines from Julie Brown's movies - I think she's Wonderful!! :-)
Sweet! NOBODY skewers Madge like you do!!! God knows, I love her, but if pretension was a communicable disease....we'd ALL be dead.
Just say Julie was my favorite show on mtv back in the day

What a treat! Still hilarious.
Masterpiece of comedy.
Wild!
What I love is that one of the back up dancers (Taffy is the character's name) is Kathy Griffin.
MUCH MORE TALENTED THAN MADONNA. HILARIOUS!!
WHY THEY'RE FAMOUS, WE DON'T KNOW... BUT PAULA ABDUL GOTTA DO!!! VAGUE...! :P
She's much better than Madonna. Good for her!
"Let's get stupid!" LOL
Brill!!
Wendy Hutton RPHMS, not Crowell (EHS) may liked it. She moved to Seattle Ft Louis, home of the Starbucks chain.
You are a comic genius, hope to do a song with you someday! Love you as Medusa!
Madonna has given her the best material the past 3 years. She has lost her mind. Would love to see what julie can do with it
Hilarious. Wonder if you just cut out the line about Helen Hunt from the live performance.
I met the male dancer with blonde hair. He was so cute and sweet.
I love #Jesus
