Simon enjoyed the high-life for a few years and then pulled a vanishing act. He was part musician and part magician. Left the band high and dry. He was actually the best vocalist they ever had, not the original, but the most talented. He just didn't have that "Ozzy Ozbourne, Mick Jagger" lasting power. Oh well.... the new guy can sing O.K.... it just sucks hearing him rehash Simon's vocals.

nah, Gabriel is definitely the most skilled vocalist Crashdiet has ever had, and he is consistently great live. I love Simon's vocals on Generation Wild but live he could be anywhere from abysmal to great depending on the night. Gabriel nails it in every live vid I've seen so far. not a huge fan of the new album but it looks like Crashdiet's live shows should be better than ever, musically (since I'm sure seeing them in a Stockholm club in 2005 is unbeatable)

My band played with them a few weeks before he left. Dude was awesome, I use to work at the venue we played at so we had a huge party after the show and got obliterated. Simon was trying to learn how to do a kickflip from my nephew off the stage in cowboy boots. Such a great show
