This is purely speculation but I suspect he is not fully confident on his knee since the spring training injury, in terms of rotating it. Similar to how his numbers suffered from a power perspective in 2022 when he first came back from ACL injury. Thankfully he is still able to make massive impacts on the game without his power because he's that good of a player but I expect he will gradually get back into MVP form as the season progresses. He has also been the victim of absolutely atrocious umpping and bad luck thus far
@@jordanwhite8567definitely agree with you! I guess it’s foolish to expect him to pick up where he left off because of just how good he was playing. But once he feels confident on his knee and sees the ball better, we’re going to have the most unstoppable lineup in baseball

Lopez is more than a #4. Dude has the potential to finish top 10 cy-young with his stuff. These results are from a guy who hasn't started in years. I'd pencil him in as our likely #1/2 starter RN, and in the postseason.
Lots of injuries avoided tonight. Olson at the plate. Travis dive. Harris/Acuna collision avoided. Acuna-Alonso awkward play. Matzek isn't the same guy Reynaldo = new ace Wins a win
As so often, the Braves are their own worst enemies. But then again, early days. Wish I could afford mlb tv, but it's a lot of money to spend, especially when most of the matches take place in the middle of the night, here in Denmark. Go Braves!!
Love the single streak they went on! Not just power but some solid ABC baseball. They can do it all, just need to keep the pitching in check and teams won’t have a chance vs this lineup 🔥🔥
havent finished watching yet, but thought I'd chime in - ...Acuna stealing 2nd and then 3rd , so a Riley single scores a run, thats baseball at its best, love seeing small ball
Looks like this year is going to come down to pitching again for the Braves. They went from having one of the best rotations to one that's very average now. Strider is gone for at least the next year, Fried is not where he used to be at all. Charlie is close to retirement and has been walking batters. Chris Sale is really the only bright spot. Their bullpen is really gonna have to step up.
I'm noticing a trend for the Braves early on in the season: one-run games. They have a 3-3 record in this category. Three of their seven wins have been decided by a single run while all three of their losses have been one-run affairs. I'm intrigued to see how this plays out later in the season.
I would've preferred ponying up for Hader instead of expecting one of Kerr/Matzek/Lee/Bummer to pair with Minter. Why not go completely all-in with this roster, yk?
True though. Every game when our starter has collapsed first innings, our bullpen comes in and saves the day (e.g the d-backs games, the fried Phillies start) and then when our starter has been really solid our bullpen gives up lots of runs (e.g this game and the white Sox loss)
We're just getting started, working it out early. The eruption of our home crowd and the point to the sky. The best home stadium there is...Turner Field each your heart out.
I REALLY worry about the Braves pitching. The offense is carrying this team right now and as we've seen come playoff time, thats not going to last. Pitching has got to turn around throughout this season...
🤦 Just asking for a consistent strike zone. Doesn't have to be perfect but I've seen more strike non calls this season through these first games than ever before in a season. It's getting worse.
@@bert1450 That would require common sense or something close to it. Not nowadays. They aren't even trying to get ump's to make correct calls. Bullpen looked great first two series giving up no runs, only to say now it's trash. I call BS on that. Mets are a rivalry team playing us a lot harder than they do against any other team. After all, the Braves are the team to beat in the division if any other can challenge that. Not every game gonna be perfect in spite of how good the Braves for a team taking it's bumps and bruises through a 162 game season. Same goes for every team no matter how great.
Bullpen is suspect, and the starting pitching is not all that good. The braves cannot count on out hitting every major league team every night. I don't see this team winning the world series, they would have to make some serious strides in the right direction with their pitching. (Atlanta Chokers!)
0:53 Wait, we got through the first without giving up a run? I'm not buying it. 10:07 That's more like it. Why have a boring old win when you can make it EXCITING by giving up 5 runs in the last two innings?
Okay. I've had a alow start to the season. Work being bussier than usual..family stuff being an issue..I digress. Is this the level of ulcer causing problems Braves games are right now?
