    Just wonderful. I did these types of prints years ago in college and never forgot the pleasure from pulling a print. Beautiful explanation and presentation!

    this is like staring into a fire while your cousin tells you about their taxes while occasionally throwing in one of their tax-papers into the fire with a handful of flammable powders.
    Dull, but somehow calming to listen to and watch, then spontaneously captivating.

    the end result of these plates are very beautiful
    However, as a print maker myself, alot the processes used was very inefficient
    that being said, I still found this video good and the art work shown was beautiful

    Ferric acid etching times for copper are anywhere from 1 min-24 and beyond that u just get open biting. But it really depends on the concentration. In my school we use the same acid for about 1 semester (or 3 months) but thats 60 people using the same acid. . .as far as disposial im not sure. I know simple baking soda can neutralize it and i think i can go down the sink then
    hope i helped!!

    Very good! I'm in an "intro to intaglio' course at an art college, and not getting near this level of technical instruction. We just transfer a drawing onto a grounded plate, put it into acid for a time, rinse it, spray it with black spray paint, back into acid, and repeat. This is to establish etched lines. I don't get it. Then after that's done, we start aquatinting with the spray paint again. We have to stop out areas we don't want aquatinted, with spray - and so on. I'm finding it confusing

    cheers for that, about 30seconds after i left that i found out by looking at another video,d'oh........i dont suppose you know what make and brand of inks i could be using for the monos and lino printing do you? ive had to buy a medium that mixes with my system 3d paint but i cant see it lasting that long, the stuff i remember using at uni came in metal tins but i never wrote the names down

    can someone tell me what the printing technique is where you lay your ink/paint out on a flat surface, your paper goes on top and you simply draw or trace what you want over the top,,,,when you remove your paper its obviously transfered on to the other side but just where you've made your marks?!?!

  • @universalradio
    @universalradio 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm getting annoyed because I have to produce a portfolio, with a lot of prints; would like to work on my own after hours, but there's nobody to help me out and I still don't know what the times are for acid bath. Did it on my own for a landscape, but lines turned out too heavy imo. They're all etched lines, would prefer burin.
