Me and my friends just played something we ended up naming the "Tard Challenge" tonight. Our least talented at FIFA friend got extremely drunk and we let him play with Soccer Aid while the rest of us took turns playing with Longford Town against him. He won about six games, drew two, and only lost one. I don't think any of us have laughed that much in one night in years and fun was had by all. Highly recommend. 10/10

Local man discovers lower/non league football
It looks already pretty professional to me. Nice stadium/facilities. The pitch looks top notch. They have a kit deal _(else way they'd play in Nike like every team without) and their team is on one if not the most popular video game in the world.
Not that I'd say that there's no passion. But there's definitely money involved.
If you want to see football without almost no money involved, go to the lowest tiers of non-league football _(how they're called in Britain)._
Come on the Town! We used to be one of the best League of Ireland teams believe it or not. But after going into liquidation,points being taken off us and then being relegated it's been a battle to get promoted and then stay in the premier division. Back 15-20 years ago the stands used to be packed when in the premier division winning leagues and FAI cups while also being in with a chance of qualifying for Europe the club slowly died off and ran out of both money and passion

@@Beanbag777 45k is decent enough. I don't know if it's just me but I've always had this notion that the midlands are very low in population and overall a boring place compared to Dublin or any coastal city/town.
I usually pick such teams on FIFA or when I'm starting my career... Taking them to glory feels awesome.

I sometimes get a chance to watch lower division clubs play here in the States on beIN Sports. Love the the smaller stadiums, action, and atmosphere. Sad that Longford didn't have better attendance or a raucous supporter's section when you attended that game. Surprised they had VAR!

Interesting video. I doubt many will realize but Steven Kenny (current Ireland manager) was manager when the stadium was expanded from its primitive infrastructure to an almost 5k all seater. Such was his impact on the club & it's ambitions.. He was only there for 3 short years, but if anything was an indicator of how influential the man was

Yes they used to fill the stadium back in the good days of 1999 to 2005 they were in Europe aswell played against Bulgarian side litex lovech and following year met Welsh team
Your team has to be *good* to be in FIFA i think. So it's amazing enough they are on FIFA.
to even be on FIFA they had to be in the LOI Premier Division FIFA doesn't have first Division

Kudos for Longford's brutal honesty. They got relegated from the worst league in the game (or 2nd worst, English League Two might in general be the worst) at the end of the season they had rated themselves the worst, so they absolutely nailed it. Could also be lack of confidence but maybe I should start supporting Longford Town.

Considering where they are in the league system , the ground is looking fantastic . Having been to many top league of Ireland grounds and GAA this looks really decent.

Me and Longford have beef, fifa 22 I manage Longford to their 3 back to back titles, and somehow beat celtic in the playoffs to make to the cl, the board sack me after bombing out to Liverpool barca and inter because they thought I should make it to the quarter finals. My best player was 72 rated and because the league was so poor anyone above 71 wouldn't join because the league wasn't competitive enough. Now I'm with Waterford trying to take down the beast I created out of pure spite before moving to a bigger league

Interesting thing about those changing rooms indeed.
In the USA a stadium with those changing rooms wouldn't be allowed to join certain leagues, where most leagues in the USA sports system are required to have the same facilities and accomodations in both the Home and Away changing rooms. In the NCAA league system, stadiums are even required to have both changing rooms painted the same color.

I remember many years ago, the worst rated player in FIFA was a fellow from a team in my hometown. His name was Wojsyk and he played for Polonia Bytom. Even some friends told me about him, that he tried to pick up a girl and gave her bad tea at home. It was green tea. I wonder what the guy is up to now.

this brought up a memory off friend who has passed away he played Gaelic football for Longford he went to the soccer stadium to watch Longford town play but somebody saw him go in he went into training the next day was asked if he went to the soccer match he said yes he was told to clean out his locker & nether come back this was in the late sixties even that the Gaelic sports are more popular I presume now you would not be sacked from Gaelic sports now for going to a football match great video

I once watch Cork City v Longford at Turners Cross, they had 6 away fans with Gardai chaperone for the match. They weren't bad but were dismantled by City
