The lyrics were written by Kanghyun (guitarist) after he had a dream of an asteroid hitting Earth. The message of this song is to tell the things you want to tell your loved one before that asteroid hits the Earth. It's a really amazing song to listen to especially after knowing the lyrics 💕 I'm glad onewe keep on creating music together and i hope they continue to do so for a long time ❤️❤️ Thank you for everything onewe! fighting!!

It’s basically about an asteroid that is about to hit earth and it’s from the perspective of someone lamenting with regret over a loved one, about not being able to tell them everything in their heart, before the end of the world.

Ofc I know regulus lol I’m literally a stan since that era and I’ve been listening since debut (I knew them before bc people commented about them on ONEUS’s debut whom I stanned on debut day. I also now know that he wrote the song while crying and it was inspired from a repeated childhood dream awww.

Funny Story : I recommended this song to my sister's (ex) bf, who's not very familiar with korean language and I just sent him the audio without any mv or artist name. Next day my sister came to me and asked what song I had sent him. I told her "Parting" by Onewe, and asked "why?" Then she told me that her bf couldn't sleep at all last night cuz he was busy trying to find out the song name and the artist name

In case you haven't seen them yet, they actually have 3 other versions of this song if you're interested, all with very different guitar/guitar solos: accoustic, traditional (한가위) with slide guitar and a Halloween version.

Putting their vocals, their musicality and just their talent in general aside (because I know people would argue that there are also other talented bands, and they are right, but...) what draws me in to Onewe that made me LONG for their music is how in touch they are with their emotions. To me it doesn't feel like they "learned" to put their emotions into the songs but more like it's already in their DNA. Putting past or present emotions into a song is something innately natural to them. That is something I both envy and love about them. No matter what songs or emotion, I could trust Onewe to deliver. It gives me great pleasure to have found them. Thank you Onewe for existing.
This is so beautiful and I totally agree with you! Onewe’s passion was what got me into them, it really does feel like the music just comes to them naturally. They made me appreciate bands a lot more now.

I still get amazed at how this band was formed by themselves in their early-mid teenage years. Here they are now, still doing their passion. Each member has it's own important role that they do absolutely well and they fit perfectly. If destiny is real, you did really well with them. T_T :')

@@atinyshineforever9252 Yes! They called themselves MAS0094 and have already released a few equally good songs before getting signed into RBW and renamed as ONEWE. The maknae (Cya - rapper /bassist) 2:06 was just a middle-schooler back then probably 16 (Korean Age) when they debuted as a 5-member band - Mas0094. Cya, Kanghyun (guitar) 3:03 & Harin (drums)1:31 formed the band earlier.
They realized they needed a vocalist so Cya invited his apartment neighbor Dongmyeong (vocal + keyboards) 1:44
While doing session band gig for a singing contest, they recruited the winner Yonghoon (main vocal) 1:09 . It's like they reverse adopted their hyung actually.
Their story is heartwarming, really but it's their music and personalities (not to mention - visuals) are what make the fans stay. :')

But in actual, it only required Harin to bribe him with a coffee (jk). I still wonder what convinced him to join and trust them when they were practically minors / kids back then. Either way, I see them as a band that will stay together making great music for long because they were built on a strong foundation.

I must say that I'm shAKING OVER HERE, this song is jaw-dropping (in a good way) I mean Younghoon's voice wouldn't let me BREATHE and Hyungu's solo really gave me chills and Giwook's lines were such an eargasm and no words can describe the perfection that was Dongmyeong in this comeback and Harin simply got me drooling... I'm just so happy and kinda moved cause I feel this song was actually filled with their beautiful and pure essence, they are all insanely talented and I couldn't be more proud of them.

Can't believe it's been 2 years already since this masterpiece was released...I first noticed them with Regulus and so I kept an eye on them and when Parting was released this really cemented my love for them ♡
This song evokes emotions in me that I can’t explain. Regulus did the same. ONEWE are incredible.
These 2 songs are connected and also they both were written and composed by guitarist with dark purple hair, Kanghyun, parting is based on his own dream about asteroid hitting the earth and the lyrics are words that he wished he could say to his loved ones before it happens and regulus was inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupery's "The little prince" 🥺

This song is just so magical like Regulus. I can't understand all of the lyrics and yet it hits my heart and soul. It makes me a little emotional. This proves that language barrier doesn't exist when it comes to good music.
True! When I did read the lyrics it just hit harder and made me love it even more. It really just hits you 10 times more when you read the lyrics and realise you already had the reaction the music swayed you to have before even understanding the song. Both regulus and parting are so beautiful, kanghyun’s style of music is quite clear and it’s so beautiful. I’m really looking forward to all of their future content.
@@belphiespillow591 I agree! There's something in his composed songs that really draw the listeners in even without fully understanding the lyrics. It's almost like magic! It connects the listeners together and make us feel different yet same emotions. I'm also really excited to hear more amazing music from them!
