    The 777X will dominate a market that is becoming a niche market. and "most efficient" is something I highly doubt, the A350 comes down to 2,1 litres per passenger and 100 kilometers, no 777 on earth will ever be able to beat that with its aluminum fuselage. The A350-1000 is capable of carrying 400 passengers in the three-class-cabin-layout, the 777X can carry 440 in a comparable layout. The 777X is a plane for a niche market.

      Absolutely, I think both the A350-1000 and the up-and-coming 777-9 are becoming niche aircrafts. Conditions are different now. When the 777-300er just started it was the only twin engined aircraft that can fly for 15 hours nonstop. Now, Airlines around the world can choose either 787-9 or A350-900......

    • @TheColinChapman
      @TheColinChapman ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@davidtjahjadi5079 I agree. the larger versions of the A350 or B787 are more fuel efficient than the B777X, the only reason to order a 777 for an airline would be the need for a passenger capacity of above 400 seats, no matter what the fuel consumption would be.

      @@scott4825 Hi Scott., Thank you for that important pointer: namely the CEO getting a large payout. I didn't realise the executive payout distorted the bigger picture within the United States corporate world to the degree you suggest, from a distance: the United States looks too much like a mediaeval or late mediaeval society, tragically polarised between two few having too much and too many having too little, I think many in this world are hoping this distortion resolves without conflict. All new cutting edge technology has bugs/glitches that need to be weaned out. Since the 777x is basically a computer in the sky then I hope it’s equipped with EICAS which is an independent and separate computer system that checks the flight computer system for anything. I’m also wondering if pilots need retraining as the 777x will be the longest fuselage wide body airplane thus the chances of tail strikes is very high. Overall it looks nice and looks like it handles nice.

    Who writes these scripts? First line - this is a fucking big plane, and at that size it does not have competitors, but a competitor in production, namely the Airbus A350, which is a modern widebody jet built to current market demands for range, capacity, fuel efficiency and environmental performance, and will not doubt be modified and updated as technology improves. It's been welcomed by operators and passengers alike, and for those airlines that favour Airbus, or already have the A350 in service, the 777x is unlikely to make them change their fleet composition. So Boeing is not going to destroy Airbus with this aircraft, even once the actually manage to get it certified, and deliver one, several years later than promised, to their first disgruntled and impatient customer. Even then Boeing's roster of commercial jets will looks rather thin, with the ancient and somewhat tarnished 737 max being their only single aisle narrow body for short and medium hall routes, and then a rather conspicuous gap before the jump in size to the 787. There are only so many operators who need something as big as the 777x, so it's not going to do much to restore parity to Boeing's market share which is currently at an historic low, although seeing it in the air may give them one less thing to be embarrassed about. I'm sure it'll be very good, but yelling that it's a fucking miracle is not a magic wand.

    It sounds great... I'm sure Airbus would be quaking in their wake if Boeing had got it to market in 2020... But it's 2023 and the project has been beset with problems. The new engines have failed multiple tests, the cabin doors pop off mid flight during one test and a host of other issues have appeared. Boeing need to go back to building great solid aircrafts.

    • @jimmy-et1pm
      @jimmy-et1pm ปีที่แล้ว

      The doors didn't pop off mid flight....the fuesalage failed within 1% of what engineers said it would during the ultimate load test(ground based test)..that failure occurred near the door. They made it stronger....it will easily surpass the ultimate load test now. Its stronger than its required to be....

The testing for the huge GE-9X turbofans that Boeing recently conducted, has finally been completed, and then given the go-ahead. Though the COVID-19 after affects, has severely grounded this airplane's flight testing, I am certainly glad that soon, they can give it the go-ahead for delivery to the first customer who of course is none other then, Lufthansa. The freighter version will also be an idealistic selection for freight operations, and Qatar has already placed orders for them. I also probably see UPS, and FEDEX make waves with potential orders for the 777-8XF. It will be very exciting to see this brand new advancement in technology, finally get into service.

      Yes. But it's also built into the requirements that it still must be able to fly and land if the wing tips get locked in either position.

    Yes, these jets are very efficient. However, I just returned from Europe and I took the 787 900 outbound and inbound. 11 hours in a plane that unless you are paying 6500.00 to sit in a first class pod. Never again. I will look for flights that offer service with Airbus. Airbus is concerned about carbon footprint bur also has not forgotten the group that pays the bills, yes their customers. Seat comfort and leg room in economy. Paying 1650.00 for a round trip x 268 passengers = just under 450,000 dollars. That should be enough to provide us the customer. ......comfort

    The Boeing CEOs time would be better spent on rebuilding Boeing’s shattered reputation and improving its engineering rather than bashing Airbus. Boeing has had almost a decade of self-inflicted wounds If they concentrated more on stopping the self-inflicted wounds and less on bashing unions and AIRBUS, becoming respected again would come by itself

    Hate this tempting fate. In March 1988 I was at Airbus as part of a media group. In one of the media conferences there was a boast. "No paying passengers have ever died in an Airbus." There was another boast: "The A320 fly-by-wire technology is foolproof". Three months later both those claims were proved wrong. Subsequently there would be many more deaths in Airbuses, several due to "foolproof" technology is the hands of fools. Boeing should focus on sorting out its quality control problems and delivering a plane that meets its promises. We would all be better off.

    Boeing was a company of engineers and has become a company of accountants. If it's really so great, and truly the best, why don't they call it the 777 max? Oh ....maybe I know. But really great features: It's wide, it's long, it has bigger windows and GE engines! Wow!

    Maybe in 10 years Comac will be more consistent but for the moment, there is only one competitor. Actually Airbus is beating Boeing, because Airbus didn't try to cut a penny off every bolt of their planes to please shareholders. I recently paid 30 bucks extra for a trip to NOT be in a MAX. We don't all have short memories.
