I think Paul being a Pharisees and organizing the stoning of Stephen in Acts 7:51-60 even though Paul thought he was doing good works towards God he wasn't so the works he did as Pharisees and denying Jesus didn't count as works of Righteousness with God like he believed being a Pharisees.
James 2:Faith Without Works Is Dead 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Is there any way you could link these Romans TH-cam audios to the Enduring Word commentary page? It’s only got the audio but not for TH-cam. I have to search these on google. @@DavidGuzikEnduringWord Hi Pastor Lance. I’ve been a subscriber for a few months now. It’s fine if you can’t do that. I’m in Romans right now in my nightly reading. I found Pastor Guzik when I was in Matthew. I read verse by verse, cover to cover and have been doing so for a number of years. So that’s why I’m here on the old videos. I do so wish I’d found him years ago.
Where is the rest of Romans? Has anyone found it??
This message was powerful and convicted me about how I often can lapse into “working” for righteousness. How you spoke on how Sin starts like with a lack of trust is also a powerful truth. God bless you and all those who come across this message
