    Does FCP Euro have any plans of making a full strut assembly to buy on their site for the P3? I would buy it in an instant, I also know a few others who would as well. Cheers on the video.

      Not at the moment, but we are always talking with manufacturers to produce some!

    A racket strap hook seems like it would work as a control arm hook in a pinch.

      Worth a try for sure!

    Thanks for the video. Could the control arm hooks or something like it also be used on a p2 xc70?

      More than likely! Thank you for watching!

    Good timing, I recently bought a bunch of front and rear suspension parts from you for a p3 S80. Does the geometry of the S80 also require removing the lower ball joints and axel bolt or could it be done without removing those?

      We have not worked on one of those yet, but it likely shares the same P3 strut process as this. Let us know how you make out.

      @@fcpeuro I did it without removing ball joint or cv. Can't say it was easy by myself on jack stands though. An extra pair of hands would have been helpful.

    Does the washer on the Bilstein go above or below the strut mount? The original strut didn't have a washer, so I put the washer on top of the strut mount, as the Bilstein nut didn’t have a flare at the bottom.
    Please advise.

    After watching this video, it's unclear to me why you loosened the axle bolt and tapped the axle a bit to see if it would move. I thought you'd remove the axle to free up the knuckle, but you didn't. So is it really necessary to loosen the axle?

    • @fcpeuro
      @fcpeuro หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is not enough drop, and you put too much strain on the axle if you do not loosen the bolt. That inch or two you move the axle back is needed to help lower everything down to remove the strut assembly. Avoiding that will put unnecessary strain on the axle and can cause you to pop it out on the transmission side of things, or even worse, tear a boot.

    Don't be a fool like me and use cheap quickstruts from Rock Auto. I am not looking forward to going through all this again.
