    I see many prople doing everything they can to avoid wrinkles in decoupage. I think the wrinkles give it character! ( like mine 🤭)

      After I had watched only two of your junk journal postings---one about coffee dying-- I watched someone else's on tea dying (I have too much tea I don't like the flavors of but can certainly enjoy them as I dip paper in the tea). Anyway she ended up by ironing her papers-- nope, I already figured out from seeing yours that I love the wrinkle and the crinkle sounds. Thank you!

    Good morning everyone. I love this. So simple, functional and ever so cute. The brainstorm has hit me again with this lovely little project. Wrinkles and ripples give character and even tell a story. Life is filled with ripples and wrinkles and here lately it has been a roller coaster of them globally. They can even reflect a personal mood. So let them shine I say!! They are badges well earned and a beautiful addition to any project. Inky Painted fingers are a mark of a true artist and crafter. When you love what you do, it shows not only in the project but on your hands too!! =) These would make great little books for the journal and maybe for the wallet too. I can see some school photos of kiddos on them too. So much fun in the making.. Have a wonderful day and happy junk therapy! Thank you once again for a wonderful project video.

    I love how you talk to the paper! “C’mon everybody” 🤣. I’ve been asking around, want some opinions....a lot of the junk journal channels use magazine or old newspapers that are not acid free. I worry about degradation over time. How is this rectified (or does nobody else have concern about this?). Could clear/matte gesso be used to protect the pages? Appreciate anybody’s input 🙂

    • @ThePaperOutpost

      Hi Cindy, I do not strive for archival preservation in my crafts but I can attest to many of the vintage ephemera that I use is from the 1800's and is not archival and is still in decent shape. That is good enough for me :) Maybe others can jump in here with more info on archival preservation methods :)

      I don’t use photographs in my junk journals. I use stuff that I get but never know what to do with, keep it a while then get too much and throw it away. So my junk journal is a memory collection of just stuff. I have old scrapbooks from 30 years ago with no pictures and they are holding up perfectly.

    This is a tiny little book that can be made bigger. What a nice easy idea..I love wrinkles in my napkins & then ink the front of the wrinkles...thank you...your right about index cards now, my old ones are much thicker paper..that goes for all paper in the USA, hope the companies read this..

  • @lynnjohnson8633
    @lynnjohnson8633 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, love the video, it looks like if you put the edge of your card on the cut line of your board it will come out the right size for the center. You are putting it a bit too far past the cutting line. Hope this helps a bit.

  • @cadykyst1234
    @cadykyst1234 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If your scoreboard is not causing full alignment with the center, Mark a page with an exact measurement by ruler, then hold it up to the mark on the ruler on the scoreboard. The right hand edge of your paper will show you exactly where the right edge placement of your pages should be. For instance, it could be the far edge of the line rather than the near edge.

    I made one today, I used the bigger index card because I couldn’t find my smaller ones. It turned out beautifully! I used a napkin to cover the outside. I posted pictures of it on My Junk Journal Buddies Facebook group.

    These are so stinking cute! I just recently found your channel and I'm binging every video 😉. I look at these adorable little journals that YOU made and I love them- then I go into my craft cave and make one exactly like yours, and all I can think is that it looks smudgy and dirty. I'm a little too hard on myself, but watching your videos is helping me get over that so Thank You!

  • @carlottaholman9481

    You're right that the dollar tree index cards are thin. I'm thinking these would be good for happy mail/RAK with stamped images on each piece of paper or a single cut out word. That way the recipient could pull them off to use in their own journals. Maybe a theme to each booklet, hmmmm. TFS

    I don't have room for a big scoreboard, but what I discovered once by mistake while I was tracing a template is that a ball-point penmakes a really nice score line. Now I keep an empty one on hand for that reason - wrapped in pink paper so I will know which one. I wouldn't want to accidentally ink the line!

      H Wilma! Some folks are able to craft with gloves but I have never been able to do that. I like the feel of the paper too much I think. The ink, oh yes the ink. Its the crafters biggest blessing and biggest curse at the same time :)

      The ones from the office supply stores are thicker. I use the dollar store variety to back labels and things that need a little extra weight.

    When you tie your first knot wrap the tail around twice and it will snug down nice and tight then do your second part as normal. I believe this is the way hockey players do it so there is no problem with the knot coming untied
