I lived in a basement apt in Joan Klems house who was the president of the Medallion rottweiler club at the time. Joan wrote 3 books on Rotties. I watched 100 plus rottweilers from the club members to others visiting. You are a top notch breeder. Keep up the good work. My key with Rottweiler puppies is first 2 years socialization. Spending an hour a couple of times a week at the pet store letting all the people pet and meet my dog. So I always say my Rotties are over socialized as they will force you to pet them by laying on your feet belly up or nose nudging your hand behind your neck.
After 4 years, I finally found a relative of the line I've had for 20+ years. Although I wish I could've puppy tested his litter as I have our puppies over the years, he was 6 months old when I found his breeder and him. Fortunately he has the most desirable traits of our line which I could identify from the videos of him the breeder has sent. It's fascinating how behavioral traits pass down. The ability to see those traits in action over a month's worth of videos is the only way I would have chosen a puppy without puppy testing.

For a prospective buyer to choose a puppy using this testing method is a bit short sighted. It would be like choosing who you where going to form a deep friendship with, or become a spouse with based on very controlled 5 minute interaction with.
Temperament tests aren’t for the buyer to decide what puppy they would like they are for the breeder to decide if the puppy is best suited in a working or family home
Listen, we forbid people to rehome dogs when personalities clash and tell them they have to keep the dog forever no matter what no matter how miserable the situation is for dog and owner alike…so we damn sure need to do temperament testing before getting a puppy so it doesn’t HAVE to be a miserable mismatch. When you get a dog with a temperament that fits in well with your family and lifestyle they can be the best thing in the world.
