It is nice to have the door open when it is warm outside. On the other hand, driving with the front window open is always good as you hear any strange noises that the machine makes much better, it is easier to prevent the machine from breaking down.
3 Bucket loads fills an A40...bloody hell this is a monster..i remember driving an A25 and it seemed to take forever to be filled up..how things have changed lol
Yes I agree. It makes the cab dusty, and dirty, plus the noise from the machine, the only reason I would do that is if the ac didn't work, but some people do it even if the ac works . If he personally owned that he would probably never run it like that, but then again he might.
@doggystarful I slide open the window on nice mornings, but even then it has to perfectly calm and the material has to be damp enough no dust in the air.
I saw a 974 working at 10 meter of me. This is impressive when you are near. 984 is bigger (about 85 t vs 115), you will never see bigger than this (except on mining). The reason , impossible to move them on european roads, even with arm and bucket on a second truck.
@sargent420 This video was shot just after the handover to the operator, some Liebherr technicians were still around and getting on the machine from time to time. They just wanted to save the door from excessive wear....
I run my yard lloader cab open in the winter and summer and even sometime I lock the skidder doors open an inch it is is a landclearing job to get new air in the cab
I run a mini Ex (pretty much a toy in comparison to these machines) although I dig out basement foundations and open every window I can for better view when I have just inches from hitting the side of the building I am working on and the neighbors.
Muck shifting you've got to have the door and window open its just an unknown thing why we do it. But when i'm stuck on top of a compost windrow turning it i have to shut the cab up tight otherwise i go home as black as the ace of spades and bloody stinking of the stuff!
maybe some operators like the sound of the engine, and want to hear it when working, or maybe by not closing the door they feel closer to the construction site
generally speaking small properties such as homes; along those lines" the operators who generally works those type projects are best suited over big project job operators; The short of skill; being in the know is everything at times" close quarter work is not for most" don't count your self out" as for that beast of machine: all potato dirt what he was in: I have no doubt that rig when needed can hog out in the toughest of ground: It wasn't always that way with that brand name:

I always leave windows and doors open unless raining hard or real windy. Nice backhoe!!! 2 buckets, your filled, NICE!!!!!
i love driving with the door open when its nice weather and you aint doing any work that makes much dust or sound :)

That is the best looking excavator ever. I ran an old liebherr and an old Akerman. Pretty strong machines for sure. But that White paint is sweet.
So each bucket full is about 20 ton?
That thing is a beast!
@sargent420 I second that. I like to keep the machine spotless, especially the inside, no need to inhale dust all day.
Was this filmed near Stuttgart Germany. I remember driving past and seeing one just like it operating.
+iiredeye iiredeye You're right, this video was shot on the motorway A8 west of Stuttgart
is it that noisy in the cab ?
Richtig, das war am westlichen Widerlager der Neuenbühltalbrücke - du kennst die Strecke ja auch bestens ;-))
Hydraulics turned down for break in period in this video?

@sargent420 same... i always close all doors or windows... no need for damaging my hearing...
Door open and front window open as soon as the weather permits it. I don't see what the problem with that is

Nice Video..
i run mine with door and front window open, cant stand it being closed unless its windy or raining

That's a whole lot of earth moving power.

Think yourselves lucky you have a choice, I ain't got no cab.... just a brolley
@brel888888899898 is not cumminns motor , is mercedes motor on this machine
maybe some operators like the sound of the engine, and want to hear it when working, or maybe by not closing the door they feel closer to the construction site
been on machines for 35yrs come rain or hail i'll have the front window at least open ....
there's a thing called a rag mate lol... i can see finer detail with it open.
its not like youre suddenly going to fall out of the machine
@Macki1287 Until the AC quits working
more circulation .. personally i tend to over heat when doors closed like
As an operator, I will never understand why someone runs a machine with the doors open....
that operator cant even get a full bucket

It wasn't always that way with that brand name:
Is that why you leave the toilet door open to?? LOL
Sounds like a turbine jet engine!
Some get a feel of being in a tite space.....
Myself i like doors closed....
And the Volvo takes an extra.....
Hyd filter clogged. change it

I cant stand running a dirty machine... I spend 90 hrs a week in it so it must be clean, They put A/C in it for a reason
Sounds like an vaccumcleaner......
Working an excavator with a closed front window is just like having sex using a condom!!! Ugly sound of that "slow-motion" Liebherr excavator!!!
I agree
