Of the non-Netflix live action, this is #3, just behind WandaVision and Loki. What If.. and X-Men '97 are definitely in there to round out the top 5 if we're counting animated as well.
It's my personal number 1. WandaVision, then Ms Marvel and Falcon are tied for third. Loki was okay to me but a little too Doctor Who inspired and needed to be more ambitious for me to get to the top 3.
In that final trial, the three actually have everything they need to complete it. Jen’s personal effects included a vial of water, Billy’s book had dirt on the pages, and Agatha’s broach with the seed.
@@kittib3266 Oh my gosh yes! I just rewatched it and it's the exact same lyrics that Nicky sings with "windy road" instead of "witches road". Great spot!
The writing may not have done as much justice to Jen's character, but the actress, especially in episode 8, more than made up for it. It was such a powerful performance.
I think the writers, knowing that Jennifer would survive and possibly join the Midnight Sons, like in the comics, still had a story to tell...later. So seems like a fair trade.
I think they didn't go into Jenn's background as much as they did for Alice and Lilia is because she's still alive and could appear in Wiccan. Alice and Lilia are done so they're whole story had to be told immediately.
9:22 - Also symbolic of how to enter the "Earth" trial. The point of taking your shoes off were to become one with the earth, but by putting the shoes back on, you're now "disconnected" from Earth, and thus must prove your mastery over it. Hence why it's a concrete/metal morgue; Green being the flow of life and decay, and concrete/metal becoming more barriers between you and the earth.
I think it's important that the only time we see the kid convince Agatha to *not* kill a witch was also the day that he died, like the witch killings were the only thing giving Agatha enough power to keep him alive.
@@davidestes6381 The series ends with Billy, Tommy, and Vision walking through the streets, while the neighborhood looks on in disbelief. They go to the plot of land that Vision bought and Billy starts materializing a house for them to stay in. They enter, the door closes behind them, and roll credits.

Am I the only one who thought the dandelion was a red herring in the final trial? Yes, there was mud/water/seed in the personal effects. But each of them was ejected from the road/hex upon realising a personal growth. Not when the flower grew... Again Wizard of Oz-esque, they each discover that they already had what they needed "all along". All they had to do was face their personal problems.
When they got back to the shoes is not when Agatha knew Billy created the road. It was back when the first got to the road and Agatha turned to Billy and said "You are just like your mother"
The castle in Lilia's trial is the same castle that Billy had in his bedroom, that's what tipped me that he was probably responsible for at least some of the Road.
Interesting when you go back to the beginning, the theme song to Agnes of Westview uses Nicky's original lyrics of "down the winding road." You could have never known the meaning of it at the time.
I felt like they did focus in on the drowning boys shoes. They r Saucony running shoes. So yes, maybe Billy found a kid that would be well suited for Tommy's spirit.
@@ozzyomega8674 i really hope they go with it. It was my first thought when I saw them all together and I got chills at how disparate the parallel is to Billy lucking out on a very healthy home.. made me cry just to consider it.

One of the posters on Billy's room was for the movie Saw, which featured characters trapped in rooms with ticking time clocks and a trap door that would only open after completing a task, which could have inspired the nature of the trials.
i am so used to fully grown babies being used as newborns in tv and movies that i don't even notice it that much anymore...but you are definitely right, and it's nice to see someone who knows what babies look like point it out lmao most people have no idea what a 3 month old or 9 month old looks like so they'd have to get a HUGE baby in order for people to notice (even tho that baby is probably like 15 pounds and an average newborn is 6-8 MAYBE 9 and very rarely 10 pounds...so it's basically double the size of an actual fresh out of the womb baby)
Well I mean…it’s also easier to get fully grown babies rather than newborns…plus if they showed newborns realistically I’m pretty sure a lot of kids would find it gross
It was a stunning series with a beautiful ending. I think the reaction has shown just how many viewers need everything spoonfed to them- read between the lines!

Also, now I am more intrigued if they are saying that vision quest is a third part to a trilogy if perhaps Billy Agatha, and perhaps Jen somehow coming to play, but I believe they left this as an open ended story for Jen for some reason
Vision will probably break into a government facility to find records relating to him, Wanda, or the recent activity in Westview, and come across Tommy, who was captured after exposing his powers.
Wow. I didn't realize when watching that Agatha became a better witch through the "road," using spells and witchcraft other witches used throughout the series. As a "coven-less witch," this makes sense. Love these details!

After rewatching the series, I find it amazing that the first version of the Witches’ Road song we hear is with the original lyrics (winding road) in the true crime opening. 🤯
William Kaplan grew up with a loving family and stable home while Tommy Shepard grew up in foster care and on food stamps. I cannot wait for these brothers to meet and share life experiences.
