This is a very sturdy and well built mower. I thought I wouldn't like the foot operated speed control but after one use th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTZSPVwJFBv2hORqhQamtxi-tAe5K2EtC , I can't believe I ever had one without it. It drives like a car with an automatic transmission. Easy to adjust mowing speed according to grass depth/thickness. I have yet to get used to the long throw of the blade engagement lever but kind of get why it is that way. It allows you to hold mowing for short moments if you need. The engine seems very substantial and the frame has very little flex, both adding up to an impressive package. All my previous tractors were 18 to21 hp with 42in decks. This one is 23/46. I mow about 1.5 acres about every 5 days here in Alaska and that mowing time has been reduced by about 20%, partly due to the very tight turning radius. No loop arounds lol. Hour meter, cruise control, reverse mowing capability,deck cleanout and easy assembly all add up to a very well thought out tractor.
Hi Everyone in the US, I bought my BX2680 in August 2020 in Australia, they now come with a 4 in 1 standard, I opted for the 60" standard deck and I also have a Toro SWX 5050 Zero turn mower and the BX does a far better finish job on our grass. When putting the loader back on, pull up about 10" short, put the hydraulics on, THEN pull into the loader frame. Lots of clearance that way. That's how the instructions say to do it.

One thing was when removing the loader I would close up the lift arms to give you more room making the hydraulic connection . I think your right about the stands they should have stayed the way they were . The other thing are the forward and reverse pedals the same or farther apart

Kubota does offer a quick attach “bobcat” style loader instead of the pin on style bucket. Kubota also offers a factory installed third function valve. The BX2680 series is not Kubota top selling model in the subcompact range. Kubota sells more then double the BX2380 over the BX2680 etc. According to the Kubota dealer near me the BX2680 is for the customer that needs just a few more pto house power. He said the BX2680 is also for the guy who likes to tell his neighbor my tractor is 26hp. When using the loader you will notice that you can curl and lift the bucket at the same time. The John Deere and the Kubota are two of the top dogs in the subcompact line of tractors. Great business you have. Keep the videos coming. Have a good one.
Correct, they offer the SSQA for additional cost. The SSQA attaching style is also much heavier than the JDQA style. For tractors with limited capacity, every pound counts. Food for thought.

I would agree, lots more BX23 than BX26. Funny enough, no one wants to buy BX23 when I have them. All of them want the BX26. Interesting paradox.
Yes, Kubota touts their dual function loader capability. Very nice indeed. I will say that this feature is much more pronounced on larger Kubota's than the smaller versions. Not sure why, but that's my experience.

This is the one I was looking at. I also like the John Deere 1025r. But Kubota is closer to my price range. I just want a tractor, loader, box blade and maybe 3rd function for future grapple.
I would like to see the 1025r have a replaceable loader bucket blade, quick connect for loader like the bx, cover the cig. lighter like the bx and better lift tilt of the hydraulics, something to cover the JD loader stand so it doesn't get marked up and the 1025r would be about perfect! On the BX when you take that quick attach off for the loader, the loader frame has a mini shelf two hole shelf on the outside of the frame to store it right about where you hung it. Those guide pins look to be where the dirt is coming from. Those holes on the bottom, maybe they need to be covered like little wells instead of just holes in that frame that they slide into. Little design flaw. To me that is where the dirt is coming from and getting in there.
As mentioned, there is a bracket on the right loader arm to hold the hydraulics coupler.. also nice on this bucket is the level indicator. One thing Kubota does well is with the 3rd function, it is a dealer installed factory option, nice and clean. For JD, there is no factory option, the dealer ends up running the hydraulics from the rear, under the tractor, and I believe you then use an existing lever to control, messy. I picked up a B2601 a few weeks back, it had so many more advancements than the comparable 2025R. But either way, you can’t go wrong with either a Kubota or JD. If only you delivered to New Brunswick! Ian...eh

Bought my bx2680 a month ago love it I don't know how you would get dirt on hydraulic coupler like that mowed move dirt brush never dirty put in holder doesn't get in grease and stays clean after 29 hrs of use

Nice video. The hood will pop right open if you pull the latch upwards & towards you at the same time.
That little handle fell off repeatedly when I tried doing it that way.
After you pull the spring detent on the hydraulic coupler out twist it. It'll lock open/out so when you reinstall you don't catch like you did. Usually it pops back on when reinstalled, if not just twist other direction.

Very nice tractor. I bought the JD but i have no problem with the optional quick attach bucket. Its a 500. option here in Canada, and some people just wouldn't want to spend the extra 500. I'm not one of them. I love my forks. Great video. Kent

If you're not planning on changing attachments frequently there's not only the lower cost to consider, but also the fact that the pinned bucket has a higher lift capacity.
Quick attach bucket should be a no brainer, every new tractor should have that standard.

I agree. I just about refuse to stock a tractor that doesn't have it. Part of the reason I have less Kubota's. Easily 75% of them have pinned on buckets. Major turnoff down the road when you go to resell the tractor. Think about that folks and order your new tractor with SSQA!
Kubota does offer the 2 lever Bobcat quick attack bucket but it's an option. They also DO have a tool box, again as an option, that secures to the ROPS. And yes in 2018, Kubota also offers a drive over mower deck. But again, I believe it's an option. Also there's a bracket on the right Loader arm that is a storage bracket for the all-in-one Hydraulic hose coupler. I'll include a picture to show you.
Correct on all accounts. So when people say Kubota is cheaper, part of that reason is that you're getting fewer standard options. At least in my opinion. Thanks for watching!
It's also a dealer problem. A lot of the better dealers won't sell Kubota tractor without the quick attach, grill guard, ect, and won't stock the gear transmission models. As for the mower decks that's really an invalid criticism... They are something bought by first time tractor owners and used once before they realize they should have bought a zero turn instead
We just bought a BX2680. Did some videos doing our snow removal. The tractor is a tough little workhorse. Yes, the SUB-Compact tractors look like a garden tractor on steroids and people kinda look at them as if they were garden tractors. These are bonified tractors with all the benefits or drawbacks of a regular tractor. The 19.5 HP at the PTO offers good power for our rear mounted blower. We are still getting used to the tractor and controls so I will stay away from comparing it to another tractor of similar size. The quick attach was an option on both the John Deere and the Kubota so I really don't see that as being a selling point. The only tools I carry At the moment are a ratchet, wrench, and some spare shear pins. The tractor stays close to home so no major tools are needed. The best thing about tractors is that there are so many different ways to make it work for you and the job you need it to do. A great video and we look forward to more. All the best -John
P.S.: For those interested, we paid 35 000 $(Canadian) (We always have to pay more. ) for our BX2680. I was able to wiggle maybe a hundred dollars in options. These tractors are selling like HOTCAKES and there is no incentive for the dealers to cut profits to try and sell you one of these. If they don't sell it to you today they will sell it to another person tomorrow.

How is this for mowing? We have half acre of St. Augustine and acre of grasses and wildflowers. Any scalping problems on the St. Augustine? We like to mow on the highest setting.
So the deck is supported by the tractor and the gauge wheels keep it from scalping. How much flex does the deck have? I will be mowing some extremely steep rugged terrain. My G2160 deck did not flex much and you could run along side a hill and the deck would ride up the hill and pull the back wheels off the ground and you were stuck.

Agreed FF. I really love the battery location. Super easy to access. Love the fuel gauge location on the dash too, but have heard that it reads inaccurate? Don't know myself. It's definitely a sweet machine and I wouldn't complain about owning it!
@@GoodWorksTractors The BX80 series does have a SSQA bucket that comes standard, but you can opt for the pinned on bucket. Which i did. The SSQA loader is to industry standards for skid steer attachments
@@uncleDoO78 No it isn't standard. It says so right on their website that it's optional. Here's a link to the product page (below) for the BX, go to the Implements section and view the loader. You'll see the verbiage "Optional 2-Lever Quick Coupler - Easily connect to a wide variety of front loader attachments, such as blades and pallet forks". It will cost you $450-500 to add it on. One of the reasons you may see starting prices lower on the Kubota are features like that which aren't included. Drive over deck, AutoConnect PTO, fender mounted work lights, and a tool box being some of the others.
Yes, SSQA is the industry standard in the construction world. I could argue that John Deere who owns roughly half the subcompact and compact tractor market could stake claim to their system being the standard just as much as the SSQA. Also, that SSQA system weighs more than double the JDQA system. On small tractors with limited lift capacity, that could be as much as an extra 6-10% of lift capacity tied up simply in your QA system. Bummer.

@@GoodWorksTractors ok. So it's optional meaning you can opt for it or the pin on bucket. If I hadn't requested the pin on bucket, I would have been ordering the SSQA loader. At the time, i didn't see much use in having that option. I may never have a use for it. With that said, I probably will because that's how it goes.
And of course the pin on is going to be cheaper (i.e. - SSQA costs more). Less hardware, less labor, etc... But either one is an option. And lift capacity was the reason I went with pin on. That and lack of need.
John Deere has some great accessories included. No doubt. My neighbor has the 1025R and it is sweet machine. When I saw his fender mounted lights I thought "now that is slick and makes a ton of sense". Headlights are close pointless with most front attachments in place. The autoconnect drive over feature is sweet as well. Especially when I'm messing around with my drive-over deck.
Maybe he'll let me use his JD and quick attach pallet forks if/when I need them. Lol.

A pinned on bucket is a standard, base item, not an option. SSQA is an option, an upgrade. Of course, anything is "optional" as buying the tractor itself is even optional :)
The value in the QA system is that this is a high priority item for almost every potential customer I have that I visit with looking to buy a pre-owned tractor. It is very important to most of them and is a deal breaker for many in the used market if not equipped as adding after the fact is even more expensive. It will make your tractor easier to sell, aid with resale value, and if your needs every change in the future, you'd already have the feature on your tractor to accommodate other front attachments.
Sure, if you plan to go to the grave with your tractor, then order how you want, haha! Otherwise, the cost over many years of ownership is negligible and offers several potential benefits that make it worth money, in my opinion.

There are different models of the same tractor that come with standard skid steer quick attach couplers but lower end models don’t come with them to keeps cost down for the customer
They hydraulics removal is not a 2 hand operation. If you twist that red knob to the rear after you pull it out, it stays out.
I know this is an agricultural unit but I am amazed ( considering it has just been delivered to you as a dealer ?) to see the back frame rusty belt guard missing and parts scratched ? Come on Kubota get your act together !!
I bought a BX23s last year and it has all the features your commenting on that the new one doesn't have. drive over deck, quick attach bucket (skid steer) and that's not tool storage, its for your cell phone with the plug in inside. Nice vid though. and you dont have to let it hang, just put it in the bracket thats built onto the right arm they put on to hold the hoses lol.
Right, I mentioned those items are options. Standard on John Deere. So Kubota added cell phone storage, but not tool storage? That seems a bit strange.

Yes, it is option, but it's not standard. That's my point. You pay extra for it. John Deere includes it. You pay extra for a drive over deck with Kubota. John Deere includes it. Folks like to say John Deere is more expensive, but you're getting more features, important features I might add, for that additional money. Plus the AutoConnect deck and a real toolbox plus fender mounted work lights. Oh and position control on your three point hitch too.
@@GoodWorksTractors Not too many people want a proprietary quick attach. Very much limits what you can put on the front of your FEL. The quick attach (SKID STEER) is the best option and both JD and Kubota should do away with their quick attach options and just build the damn tractors with the quick attach from the get go.
Funny enough, I'm editing a video debunking your exact statement. I hear it all the time.
John Deere includes the quick attach standard. You have to special order a 120r (formally H120) loader without the quick attach. Kubota lists it as an option.
JD might be proprietary in design, but they aren't the only ones that sell them. I sell JDQA and SSQA attachments for the exact same cost. Also, my attachments are significantly cheaper than anything you'll get at your John Deere dealer or Kubota dealer.
Besides, nothing wrong with being proprietary. They are in business to make money. Proprietary design accounts for their unequaled quick park loader design and their drive over AutoConnect mower deck design. No one on the market can touch those design concepts in my opinion. If the demand weren't there, then the supply (supplier) would adjust accordingly.

@@GoodWorksTractors Kubota does in-fact have both of those options. As an owner of a JD 1025r with a drive-over deck for 4 years now (and my father for 7), I can tell you that the drive-over deck is by FAR my LEAST favorite part of the tractor, several issues over the years.
Anthony Martin I love the AutoConnect deck. Correct, Kubota does have those options. If you don't like JDs version, then you'd really hate Kubotas. Even their own dealers dissuade customers from upgrading. Your deck may not have been setup right either. That's typically why most folks have issues.
Good Works Tractors Could very well be. I had to replace several pieces that broke over the years... I think I finally have it decent. Time will only tell how long it lasts!
Agree, "standard" just means we're not going to give you a cheaper option in our tooled packages. I really like that Kubota doesn't do what Deere does. Now if the Deere was the same price then yea let's talk, but they're more expensive and heaven only knows why Deere designed their own quick attach system. Because now it makes it that much more difficult when buying implements.
I love John Deere and have a nice X570 mower, and have had multiple mowers in the past. Their parts are reasonably priced, and they are easy to work on. However, that comes at a cost and when you're talking expensive machinary for a home owner there's "nice" features that I simply would rather not have in lieu of using that money for other implements.
Can you explain or do you know why all Kubota loaders stick so far out in front of the tractor? Or is it just the perspective? For example my 2038r bucket is tucked right in close to the front of the tractor. I would think when the bucket is full on the Kubota, the tractor may be a bit tippy.
Kubota touts their curved loader arms as improving visibility. It does, but the side effect is that the geometry of the loader means that they lift less weight.
Gorgeous Kubota! Beautiful! The only turn off for me is their getting too high tech. Like that taking the loader off from the seat abilities are so cool, but in 10 years, I don’t see that holding up. Sometimes less is more. Just my thoughts. Great looking machine though!
Great video! I think Kubota tractors are great, but I think you are right about all the little latches and linkages and things, all of that seems really flimsy to be on a tractor. I still prefer to just step off the tractor and pull a big heavy pin to remove the loader, what's wrong with that? All of these convince features will not hold up over time in my opinion.
Yeah, just a lot of moving parts for the stand, things to grease, get bent, loosen, break, etc. Hopefully I'm proven wrong.
My guess is they did that to keep up with JD's stand that you don't have to get off the tractor for, but weren't able to use the exact same method due to JD holding the patent for the design; though I could be wrong, on that. Also, the little loop on the loader frame is where you put the quick-coupler when the loader is off (Edit: There's actually another bracket that isn't on the one in the video, for the quick-coupler), so it doesn't just hang there. Also, I believe Kubota is the only one that offers the skid-steer quick-attach option on that size loader frame; you just have an economy version of it, there... like JD's D120 vs H120, but instead of the whole frame being pin-on, it's just the bucket.

Yeah, I'd like to see more static parts, but at the same time, I've seen some bent and broken stands on the JD 1-series because people seem to think those tubes are thicker than they really are. Though I hope they've beefed up the tubes since the 1026r days.
Could you do a video covering (or cover it in your comparison video with JD) the loader performance, such as cycle time and multi-task operation (raise and curl at the same time). I've been hearing the Kubota loader will perform both a raise and curl a lot better than JD, and I would think that is why they went with the single bucket cylinder design, as well. Power is nice, but in these small tractors, the cycle time will get a lot more done than the small capacity differences, when working with dirt; unless you're moving the dirt really long distances, of course.
There are also a lot of other new feature improvements that Kubota has that are nice, but aren't part of what you have on that tractor, like the quick-attach front-implements and backhoe. Kubota definitely has the the edge when it comes to front PTO-driven quick attach (snowblower and broom, for example).

Think quick attach for the bucket should be standard from the factory. wondering what Kubota's idea is for putting radiator on the back of the engine.

The ssqa reduces lift capacity for someone with no intentions of using anything other than a bucket there is no reason to get the ssqa.
@@GoodWorksTractors It pulls the air through the engine compartment back to front to pull air passed you to keep you cool on hot days or thats the logic I have heard. Haven't experienced it to see how well it works though.

Last 5 plus years this brand had become popular with property owners, I've seen many Kobota & Mahindra tractors, they must be competitively priced below a John Deere or a Farmall by Case IH. All the Kubota BX’s are built in Georgia
Kubota's tag says Gainesville, GA. John Deere's says Moline, IL. Both source parts from all over the world, literally.
Kubota is every bit as expensive as John Deere nowadays. That pricing gap is virtually gone. The exceptions are your local market and local dealers. Each dealer and market has their own method of selling equipment and corporate will also push different discounts, models, etc to gain market share.

Around here the price difference is about 5k difference between a 1025R and BX23S.
I would get the BX23S over the one in the video if doing this size of tractor because of the backhoe.
This 2380 can't have a BH, next size up has backhoe availability or the BX23S because it was reinforced for the implement.

I priced one with a SSQA bucket and drive over mower deck, I think it came to 18.5k.
Just as much or more than a 1025r except you still don't have an AutoConnect PTO, fender mounted work lights, a useable tool box, three point position control, etc.

The best thing is the quick attach hydraulics, the easy to get to battery location & the fuel gauge loc, other then that I wouldn't want one.

I jut bought mine today but I did go with the quick release loader rather than pin on.
also on the arm of the loader are two pin holes to hold the hydraulics rather then letting them hang
U hang ur hydraulic lines on the right side top loader arm. Got that provision with the two holes

Nice that the loader can come off relatively easy but seams like a lot of metal bars and thin lock handles that could be a longevity concern. Kubota is a nice machine but a little too quirky for me. They use to have a cost advantage over the JD but not any more. Priced the BX and the machine alone was almost the same price as I got my JD 1025R TLB for with forks, wheel weights and the thumb!
Yep, price gap has vanished. Good machine, but folks need to be informed shoppers for sure.
@@GoodWorksTractors Was at a JD , and Kubota dealer today. For comparable subcompacts Kubota was $2000 dollars cheaper. Out the door price new BX2680 with loader , and a 7.25% state tax was $19,412.00. Paid cash, and saved $700. Holland had no sub compacts. All inventory was almost bare for these tractors, at all dealers. Think spring will be bad with bare yards, and a inflationary price that will blow your socks off, so was glad to get the last Kubota BX today. These were used JD's I am comparing Kubota's new price against. One of the John Deer's did not even have the belly mower on, and had to be bough separate. These JD'S had around 120 hours. on them.
Nice tractor. But I still think JD beats this on useful features. Autoconnect, position control, PTO switch on the dash, foot pedals are a few for me. The large hyd connector is nice, but there is nothing wrong with pioneer couplers either. They’re rugged and generic, easy and cheap to replace

Shawn Boss: were planing getting rid of all of our deeres and newholland tractors becuse newholland tractors we had were giving more down time instead of plowing snow and john deere dealers here in canada has a bad reputation with bad customer service hanging up customers that needed parts and not coming to fix the issues on the tractor wich why were planing of replacing them with all 5 kubota M series tractors and 1 L6060 compact tractor

The quick attach loader is a nice toy but it will probably break quickly if you do any real work with the tractor. If you’re a weekend warrier and spend more time washing, polishing and waxing you’re tractor than actually using it you will want to get this toy. I have a 1996 Ford/new Holland 5030 gear tractor where you actually need a wrench (shudder) to loosen two bolts before removal of loader. I recently bought a Kubota MX6000 and don’t need any tools to take off the loader but you still have to remove it the old fashioned way. I’m seeing a psychiatrist to help get over the depression.

Not at all, many folks own a tractor like this for small acreage.

donmckee90...I have the same problem...the bookkeeper is not co-operating. The changing of mowers and drive shafts and front end loader and snow blower is getting more strenuous as I'm in my mid 60's. The new models have all those assist mechanicals to make it easier now.
Not good for steep hills. JD said I don't need for 3 acres so I went with Kabota. Great chore tractor

That's what I was going to say, I thought kubota welded a plate on the side of the loader with two holes in it for storage. Love the single point hydraulic connection, but that mechanism for locking the loader stand is just ridiculous. All that, just so you don't have to get out of the seat? No thanks, I would rather have the older manual stands that I have to let down by hand, it's less to go wrong.
Many responses already covered this feature. As I mentioned in the video, this was my first time using one of these loaders. I was just getting the hang of it. Pretty easy to use and that storage location is handy indeed.
Why not put mower deck on front of tractor .like a zero turn .running from third function and quick attach hum only an idea
Not enough hydraulic flow
There's really no need to crank the throttle like that to move the loader.
Higher rpm creates higher flow rate, therefore allowing for quicker response. Typical performance of any hydraulic system.
Mower deck is about the only complaint I have. Too many adjustments to keep it cutting correctly.

I'am a big person and I cant reach all of the controls that are down at the floor that is stupid . Is there anyone that makes a small tractor that the control are easier to get to . Not everybody is a small man .
Not sure of any models that don't have some controls down there. Only so many locations and routes to make it all work unfortunately so a few engineering limitations. I have noticed some of the brand new designs having more fender mounted controls though.

LMAO, I know right. The price goes up pretty damn quick. I found that out the hard way. We started out with the BX1880. with a FEL and a rear blower. We left with a BX2680 FULLY LOADED. I would have thought to have my wife with me It would have helped. Ya, no luck. Turns out she is a sucker for cool stuff too. LOL
OMG...... That's my FIRST choice of sub-compact tractors!!! The ONLY 1 thing I dislike about lost all Kubota is their stupid treadall pedal!!!!

@@GoodWorksTractors well especially for me since my meniscus is completely gone in BOTH my knees leaving me with bone on bone in those joints. So yeah the treadle pedal hurts my right knee to operate it for any amount of time. If someone woukd come up with a mod to change that pedal over to a 2 pedal system like John Deere has. Honestly, the HST system is the ONLY reason why I'd consider buying a John Deere 1025R or 2025R!!!
Kubota does offer the 2 lever Bobcat quick attack bucket but it's an option. They also DO have a tool box, again as an option, that secures to the ROPS. And yes in 2018, Kubota also offers a drive over mower deck. But again, I believe it's an option. Also there's a bracket on the right Loader arm that is a storage bracket for the all-in-one Hydraulic hose coupler. I'll include a picture to show you.

These tractors are the perfect fit for many people. Sometimes you have a lawn mower and want it to be able to do a lot of odd jobs around the house or hunting property. These subcompacts can still mow your lawn very well, but tackle all sorts of other projects a lawn mower couldn't. Of course they have limitations, but those big tractors don't mow lawns very well, don't maneuver well in tight spaces, cost a lot more, etc.
I have done that , bought a subcompact tractor mows great , then the bucket works for a while , then you want to move gravel faster and heavy loads , then you want something bigger and faster , you move up to 34 h.p. a year later 55 h.p. then 6 months later 70 h.p. all 4x4 with loaders and one with back-hoe , it is an addiction . They start you out small then if grows from there . 9 tractors in all , 4 Kubota's , 3 new Hollands , and 1 case , 1 older ford model 1920
