I’ve been following several vegan influencers for years but you are the first person who actually nailed it. I really appreciate your honesty. I’m putting my lemons to good use and dust off my journal. Calories do matter but I really need to see it on paper. Thanks for the kind reminders Michelle!
So glad this spoke to you today. Sometimes we can get so trapped in the dogma that we don’t do anything at all. Just start. Start something. Start it today. You’ve got this💚
I happen to be a 5 foot tall woman and 58 years old. It's refreshing to hear from an expert that my daily calorie intake should be not much more than 1,000 cals if you're not very active, as so many WFPB TH-camrs still quote the 2,000 cal cliche. I've always known, even without counting calories, that if I want to lose weight I should eat no more than 1,200 cals a day, and that overall i shouldn't really eat more than 1,500 max 1,600 and maybe alternate between lower and high calorie days. I have to be careful with the higher calorie whole plant foods like beans, grains and of course avocado, nuts and seeds. I only have to sniff at those to put on weight. So I completely disagree with those "experts" (usually males) who claim that you can eat unlimited amounts of whole plant foods - it's simply not true. Thank you Michele
The weight loss part of this is easy for me because it comes down to the food. I'm eating raw vegan and I'm finding it easy to stick to. I'm just eating beautiful fresh food all the time. It's the training I'm struggling with. I'm not doing none but I'm not doing all I can.
Making a plan really helps. Create a schedule with how much do I want to lose and when and then calculate it back. I did it again 2 weeks ago and the first kilo is gone 😊 healthy plant based! ❤
Having a plan is essential. I’m the only one in my family who eats like this so of course spaghetti and meatballs looks better than what I have if I haven’t done any prep. 😬 Great helpful info.
I became vegan July 2023 while my wife is vegetarian and kids eat everything. There may be a time when you see the meatballs and other meat and not see the appeal anymore. Meat, dairy and eggs don’t look appetizing to me at all anymore. I don’t even care for the fake meats. I just enjoy eating Whole Foods with tons of veggies. Usually eat in a bowl since I eat so much due to running (3K -4K calories a day).
I adore you Michele! You are an amazing person and I watch all your encouraging videos. Thank you for all your guidance and I'm still on track from the 21 Day Challenge which I recommend to all my friends. OH MY GOSH the $49 bundle was amazing!! I'm really excited to go through all the awesome content I downloaded.
Thank you for this message. I’ve been vegan/plant based for over a year. My only big mistake was not eating enough protein, so my hair started thinning terribly. Now, I’m working with a dietician, taking daily zinc, biotin and keratin ---AND adding 20-30 grams of protein per meal per day. Hopefully, it works.
I am so torn so many people say I need more protein so I added dairy to my veggie diet and I don’t even like dairy but I need protein to lose ? Doing fitness plan
Vegans get enough protein. MY bathroom scales measure it and mine is in the normal range. It was actually low when I was eating animal based junk food.
idk why anyone would say calories dont matter, its not hard to find cheap calorie-dense vegan foods nowadays, just dont do some crazy fad diet like raw vegan or fruitarian or whatever
Not sure that's the prevailing thought, that calories don't matter. Rather, I think a lot of people blandly forget or just aren't cognizant of that fact - especially in our high powered, busy world. It's easy to lean on quick meals that end up being highly caloric but nutrient poor, OR if we think we ARE taking care of ourselves, end up being nutritionally dense but also calorically dense. And thus, a disconnect. Everyone has at some point in their life eaten or done something (you are no exception) haphazardly or absent-mindedly, or mayve even known better, but, for whatever reason didn't adhere to what the right thing was. No one should ever "school" anyone or make them feel less than because of these behaviors. That's not how to get people on your team, thsts nor how you lead in a positive way. Michele did a wonderful thing by presenting all of this in a kind way. It makes me think, Oh right, she's right. Let me set myself right. It's all in the delivery...the delivery of the information.

Good for you. Keep consistent with what you are doing and at some point you can reassess and see if you can add a new layer of commitment :)

You have such an amazing personality 😊
Thank you Francisca 💚💚
The vegan health book and the plant based bundle are different, right? Is the content different also?
Hi Nicole. Yes they are completely different ☺️ all the content is brand new from different people and not the plant based bundle.
@veganmichele thank u Michelle! 🙂
@nicoleblake9266 of course 💚

dont pick vegan fast food options and suddenly think: its vegan......therefore it supports my weight loss goals.
Yep☺️

You would think that, but I run into this all the time 😅
