- In this video, I show you 4 things you should never do in an automatic car. These are things that have the potential to hurt your transmission and the various other components in your car. It is best if you avoid doing them, as they can significantly reduce the lifespan of your vehicle. Many people do some of these things on a daily basis without even thinking about them!

1. Do not drive with the brake & accelerator pedal depressed.
2. Do not shift from R to D or D to R when the vehicle is moving.
3. Do not shift from N to D while the vehicle is moving.
4. Do not shift to P without the brake pedal depressed.
I'm pretty sure number 3 is wrong. You can go from neutral to drive when the car is moving, just like it's completely normal to do in a manual car everytime you switch gears.
...You just shouldn't press the gas at the same time. In a manual car, you would only press the gas after you've already switched into gear and whilst you're bringing the clutch up.
So if you're not revving it in an automatic, im sure it's fine to just drop it into drive even whilst the car is moving because the engine would be moving slower than the car anyway, wouldn't it? So how is it gonna put strain on the transmission? Plus it's got an automatic clutch as well to match the revs
Or actually... it might be the other way around. If you're already moving, you SHOULD actually press down on the gas to match the engine revs with the gear if you wanna go into drive. That way, if both components are moving, there's less strain.
...you just shouldn't rev the engine in neutral whilst at a standstill and then drop it into drive. That's what damages it. Because one component is moving fast and the other is at a standstill
You are a good student 👍
"Hey everybody!"
So contagious! 😂 thanks sir
"hey everybodyyyyyy"

Wow this explains alot.....n i do it all the time
Well the neutral drop u mentioned helps u when ur launching a automatic as it doesn’t have a clutch
Syed shahroz Ali Jafri You're funny.
tnx ...
For 2, 3, and 4, just don’t move it to any gear while moving, just shift gears when the car is completely stopped.
I Have My 2013 Honda Accord EX-L Coupe Automatic Transmission and I Love Taking Care Of it, also I am Soft and careful while I drive It 🙂😊💜💚💙💕💞
Hey appreciate a reply.. sometimes when driving I mean at the start of the journey suppose I am reversing and the handbrake is off.. the car sometimes doesn't roll on its own after releasing brake pedal.. I have to press d gas a little .. y so???
promit banerjee maybe you are at an incline.
Gr8 video
Is it ok to switch of the engine, in neutral gear without putting it park, in an automatic car.
The first thing u mentioned is the left foot braking that’s a racing technique helps when u are coming out of corners
That’s only useful when driving like me not like a Normal person
The only thing i want to know, what is first? Stop-N-Handbrake-P and take key out?
And also never turn off your car without shifting your gear to park
Okay that's what my bro told me, but could you provide advice on how to drive using the leg that I got broken almost 1 year ago, on which I have a plate and 9 screws, the thing is that to do the transition movement from the gas pedal to the brake one it hurts me, and I guess I'm rigid yet.
Thank you in advance
I'm a two-foot driver, and I do it for safety. I disagree mightily with the argument that says you should not do it. It's one of those conventional-wisdom things that doesn't stand up.
Great
I was wondering where that danm break pedal was hell yeah can't wait to get back on the road now this changes everything lol just kidding my dude
While at traffic lights then? Must we wait at D or N? While waiting at traffic lights and when the mode is D or N must we keep our foot on the brake?
Keep it in drive and just keep your foot on the brake
He said do not change from N to D WHILE REVVING never said anything about switching from N to D then revving
Shift to N and put on handbrake
what transmission are suitable at traffic light? D or N?
D
D bc there is no need.. since that wont save gas nor money... TL:DR IF you put in "N" there is a high chance you will reve the car by accident, bc you forgot to change gears, you will panic and change to "D" while car is revving,, so you will damage the Transmission.. so just leave it at "D".. even if you are stuck in a light for 1hr.. you will be barely using 0.2gallons of gas.. in 1HOUR.. if its about 1 min or less it will be 0.2/60+ ... which is barely nothing lol
What about if you do it by accident for one time ?
I remember I did it from D to R my mum smacked me 👌 that’s what will happen 😅
Your voice reminds me of Garyvee
Uh…go for the clutch when coming up on an intersection…
I don't get it with the shifting from reverse to drive or the neutral to drive 🤔🙄 what are you to do then??? I'm confuse
You can do these things ONLY at a complete stop. Or else you will ruin your transmission
👍
It appears that the steering wheel is on the wrong side of car!!!!!
Listeeeenn everyboooooddddyyy
Verbose, go to the point
heeyyy everybodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....
So what should you do ?
masaAllah
❤
My teacher
On 2,3,4 I'm with you. On 1 I'm definitely NOT with you. Look at all the accidents that happen from elderly drivers in parking lots pressing the accelerator when they think they're pressing the brake. They panic and press harder. People are killed - little kids.
I understand your point about wear-and-tear on the hardware. I'm careful to avoid that. But I would far prefer a mechanic bill to hurting somebody.
I bet you will say if somebody's elderly they should not be driving. OK, let's see if you say that when you're 60 or 70.
Hey...I think automatic transmission need too manual learning than manual transmission..😭😭😭😭..it should be watched by computer gear box prohibit this problems.... otherwise it not automatic transmission 😭😭😭😭😭
Dont drink if you drive
Heyyyyy everybody
If you don’t know how to drive a manual transmission, you should stick to Uber.
Hey everybodyyyyyyy, lol.
1) do not drive it
Rule 1 is shit. I've been driving automatics with two feet for 15 years, its more comfortable.ppl keep telling me 2 feet is for driving stick.
I dont drive stick, exept when i drove UPS trucks, which was fun, lol
Heyyy everybodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Number 1 never buy one if ur a car guy
5. Never drive one
Why? What's wrong with automatic cars?
Sorry, dislike - first rule is wrong. Much faster to brake. Even if still pressing accelerator. Safety first.
Finnaly someone that knows whatsup.
I agree. Happy to say why.
IF YOU HAVE 3 FEET , THEN YOU CAN GET A MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE !!!! LOL
