I have a 2014 1300 Deluxe that I bought last year and rode it for the season. But this winter I pulled the ECU and sent it to Ivan. The flash woke my bike up. I'm totally amazed at how much restriction the manufacturer and the government puts on bikes.
@@Bluemajick1914 There's no video around of it being taken out. But it is very easy to remove. Take seat off the bike. Stand on the left side of the bike and look down. Running parallel with the frame you will see a rubber boot. Carefully lift the rubber boot and under it you will see 2 wire harness clips. Release those clips and lift them out of the way. Now you can lift the ECU out.
Do you mods (exhaust, air intake, power commander 5) on your bike? If so… did Ivan’s ECU flash help fuel economy? I get to 95 miles to the tank before my reserve fuel light comes on. What do you get now MPG ? Thank you for answering these Qs🙏
To remove the stock air filter assembly and install the Cobra Powrflo intake takes about 45 minutes. To remove the ECU takes about 15 minutes. So you could have bought the Powrflo for $600 at Fortnine and sent off your ECU yourself and done the job for about $1200.
Right? The mark up was stupid. But I'm not super confident with that kind of stuff tbh. I'd rather a professional work on it. And if anything screws up, I just bring it back to them. Lol. Thanks for watching!
@@vadereighty-eight6612 I presume you know the ECU cannot be restored to stock unless you send it back to Ivan ? If you do that the 02 sensor will need to be plugged back in and the stock air filter assembly will need to be installed otherwise the bike will be running even leaner than it was when stock.
How does it cruise 85mph ? Here in Texas speed limit is 80mph and speed of traffic is 90-95mph most of the time. Thank you and great review thats up to date 👍
@@vadereighty-eight6612 yep that’s the last mod I’m planning to do. To be honest, everything I already have on it (including 31 Tooth) pulley swap has it at about 100hp and plenty of power. I did the pulley swap because I always felt like I needed that extra 6th gear for cruising. I love this bike and am excited to see what Ivan’s ECU flash does to it. Cheers mate, subscribed 👍
@@dguz3702 much better! Except Occasionally I still reach for a 6th gear every now and then. But it’s not nearly as much then with 30T pulley as now with 31T pulley.
@@Bluemajick1914 these are the Kuriyakin ISO grips. I need to do some minor adjustments on the throttle lock to make it a smidge more secure, but they both seem to be working well together. Hope that helps!

Stupid EPA, restricting all of our fun! Lol. It was by far the best upgrade so far. I'll end up keeping this bike as long as I can!
Ok. I have a really stupid question. Is there a video to show you how to remove the ECU? I would like to have mine flashed by Ivan as well.

@@FlashBro-r4w if I'm keeping rpms low, the mileage is about the same. If I'm using more power more frequently, I'm getting about 20km less in milage.

I think you'd be ok whether you've done the upgrades or not. It still has the power, just easier to get there with the mods. Good luck!

Did you have to get extensions for the cables when switching out the bars?
The clutch cable seemed to be fine, but I needed a new front brake cable.
Could you tell me where you got the front brake cable?
Love the bike man, sick ride👍🏻

How’s the head buffeting?
I found it was better with the shorter windshield. But also keep in mind I wear a full face helmet, so results may vary. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Where’d you get the windshield?
Just from a yamaha website. It's meant for the deluxe so the install was pretty straight forward.
