    Thank you for taking the time out to make this content however, I wouldn’t go to Spain and expect them to speak English…Spanish people speak Spanish.
    I’ve been to Sal, Santiago and Fogo and I learnt a lot of Creole and Portuguese because I was in their country so I got with their program. I think a better way to make your point would be ‘I struggled to communicate because I didn’t know there language’

    As you are expecting us to speak English in Cabo Verde I'd like to know if people in Nigeria speak Portuguese. Comon on man! you should!
    Another thing: before you make videos about Cabo Verde, I'd advise you to educate yourself about the history of the islands. Then you would find out that the fact that Cabo Verde has not enough rain is one of the reasons why the people always migrated to Europe and America, leaving their loved ones behind. So, if we capeverdean people have a long history of migration looking for better opportunities somewhere else, how on earth there would be job and opportunities for foreigners?

    Thanks for your videos. They're very interesting. But why do they have to speak English? I think when you go to a country where they speak a different language you should learn their language to communicate with them. I will travel to cape verde soon and I had to download an app to learn some Portuguese even though I speak Spanish. I don't know why English speakers always want people to speak their language. Yesterday I watched a video here on youtube where the person who made the video said that one of the reasons people don't want to visit Equatorial Guinea(my country) is because we speak Spanish, for real?? when I moved to Uk I couldn't speak English, I had to learn the language because I am in their country, I didn't say: oh I can't live here because they don't speak Spanish or French.

    Hi I've enjoyed your videos however as a Pan African I feel people don't have to speak English to live in Africa.
    The reality is that most African countries have been colonised by European countries so most will speak one European language or another so if we are moving to an African country to live in we just simply need to know what country colonised them and learn the language at least on a basic level.
    And with global warming more people around the world should probably learn to take a bucket bath.

    This video made me uncomfortable. Shouldn’t you embrace the way of life and culture of the places you visit? This sounds kind of entitled. If you want chinese food and Indian food, you should visit places that are more diverse in that way. Cape Verde isn’t a tourist country. Oh man, it’s so weird to hear you sound upset because they didn’t speak English.

    • @fivefootnomad
      @fivefootnomad ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Causing discomfort was not my intention. I do embrace the way of life and culture of the places I visit/live in, which is why in CV I hired a private tutor to learn Kriolu. However, I believe English is the "common language" of the world and from my experience, it was indeed a struggle communicating with the locals in their language when they don't speak even the basics of English to make it easier to practice. The goal of this video is not for everyone to agree with all the points or spark a debate, but to inform anyone who has no clue about the country, so they're aware of the situation on-ground from my perspective. Could I have voiced my opinion in a better way? Definitely.
